  • Who loves you, and who do YOU love? Messiah, bringing me back to the days! Delish! It's time to start running!

  • First vinyl I ever bought. love it.

  • I seem to recall that this got pulled because of illegal sampling of Running Man and/or the Bronski Beat vocal.

  • 0StuntCat0, Running Man written by Stephen King

  • whoever put this here and knew what it was, I love you! you made my year and decade this song means so much to me growing up cause this is when I graduated and had fun, those times are never coming back but the memorie is priceless and to have the music .....thank you so much, I feel like crying shit!!!

YOu have no idea how many years I looked for this shit!

  • @ stuntman.. The Running Man.. Starring Arnold Schwartzanigger

  • Bonus points for anyone who can name the film that the 'Who loves you?' quote comes from...

  • @0StuntCat0 To be specific, it was Richard Dawsons character in the Running Man, in which he was playing game-show host Damon Killian...I liken it to his Family Feud alter-ego :)

  • 90's what i would do to go back and rave all over again i mis those days its just not the same anymore.

  • TUUUUUNNNNE!!!!!!!

  • Obama: "If you love me, pass this bill!"

    Play at the same time!

  • TUNNNNE... this was the BEST era in music... Wayyyy better than the plastic pop crap we get rammed down our throats... Long live the 90's ☺

  • Samples from The Running Man (film), The Life Of Brian (even better film), and Song To The Siren (a Tim Buckley cover, as sung by The Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser). And a top rave tune to boot. LOVE THIS.

  • back in time

  • I am the only dislike! Yeahh boii!

  • @TemmpGB grow up lol ask mummy and daddy who or what these were

  • i used to bounce about my room when i was 10 to this tune lol

when i was into the prodigy 1st album and getting rave tapes from my mates big bro's :)

    Love Peace and Feel

  • Messiah is the group that got me into techno.

  • fuckin right, full metal jacket brill

  • I remember my friends Daniel,Andy and Dusty all jammming this on Y95 in Dallas going to THE Cure Wish concert at Texas Stadium in 1992, love it! LETS RAVE!!!!!

  • classic anthem

  • after al those years this track stil gives me a boner :)

  • The 90's was the rave century, never forget you wouldn't have the likes of Carl Cox or Mikey B, Fantasia, Ratpack, Qtex, Qfx to name a few. A whole generation of young and eager minds grew up listening to this uplifting stuff. I still love dance and I'm almost 40!! (though have a particular thing for happy hardcore)

  • Been looking for this song for an age ! Fucking loved this tune back in the day cruising down southend sea front happy days :D

  • fucking old track from my youth..but i love it :)

  • I think this was THE song that introduced me to rave and techno ... and I hadn't heard it in over 15 years.... THANK YOU! You just made my weekend :)

  • @schoolybear1 EON "spice" was the track that got me

  • RIP RAVE

  • I can't get enough of this music video! :D Isn't there a super high (1080p) quality version somewhere? Please?

  • this was epic for its time. I remember when Annie Nightingale (late night Radio1 DJ) started playing this. cracking album also. I agree with not replacing the rave sceen of the early 90's. great time. made my hair stand up ... before it fell out!

  • cracking looking lass :-)

  • @englishlawrence true, sounds stupid but they look so much better than girls these days. all that fake tan/hair/eyelashes and shit is just disgusting, specially when the cow stains your pillows with her face haha!

  • Top tune the 90's was amazing for music, is it me or does anyone else feel really old, so pleased that was my time

  • @testpress001 oh this cd blasted into my soul many nights as a teen, my little GTI had 2 12" kickers in the back, and did it ever sound increadble, helped along by the acid and X in our systems no doubt

  • @testpress001 @MXGORKY Agree with both. I can't prefer 1 decade over another. I've crossed over 4 decades and had music lovers in my family for all of them so far from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s The greatness in music stopped (in my opinion) right around '95. I loved all styles including Techno. After 95 great groups just stopped for some reason and the music industry turned into a mucky fog of brown plaid and grunge with no color, life, or excitement & cynicism became the new norm.

  • i had someone tell me that some of my music sounds like this idk if this is true or not any one want to give their opinions on this? if you wana hear my music go to myspace /rankoffall

  • Love the samples from the movie, "The running man." It was the voice from the TV game host guy on "Family Feud."

  • Ok sample spotters from the old days.... work out who these guys are... the female vocalist ("Did I dream...") had a relationship with the son of the person who wrote the origional track, she is being sampled in the cover version. Forget abvious movie samples folks, the obscure is where its at!

  • @thelukewarmwonder The female vocalist is Liz Frazier of Cocteau Twins (this sample is from 'Song of the Siren' by This Mortal Coil, though).

  • @dilickjm I thought the vocalist on this was Izzy Foster?...

  • shockingly poor video, but cool Running Man & Life of Brian movie quotes....

  • 21st Century Jesus is a masterpiece imo!!

  • Is it the same Swiss Messiah that played death metal???

  • @nubirski no it's not :-)

  • This song came out back in 1992 during my Senior Year of High School. Still sounds great!!

  • Cool cool track , usura too ! Thanks our kid

  • RAVE ON .......

  • Nostalgia! I remember seeing the video on Dance Energy back in 1992 and you could see the female vocalist in all her glory. :D Someone needs to upload that clip! Good usage of The Running Man sample, classic track after all these years. Such a shame that real talent like this is overshadowed by the manufactured cover versions crap on X-Factor being forced down on our throats.

  • @JayArgonaut This is one song that will always remind me of the rave days!!!!!!!!!!!!ALWAYS!!!!

  • I love how in the 90s everyone wore circular shades :D I bought a cheap pair off eBay cause I love them but now everyone asks me if I'm meant to be John Lennon.

  • OMG!!! I've been looking for this song forever!! Was this on a Deep Heat Album? :)

  • O.O HOLY SHIZZLEE HAHAHAHA COLORFUL O.O

  • i used to run 21st century jesus on a loop browsing the web back when the web was new..lol

  • red ascot boots, fuente jeans, and bad influence polo necks..... mental buzz jumpin around to this song

  • I saw them with the Aphex Twin back in the 90s. Just awesome. The rave was called Renassiance.

  • The two Guys from the Band got Robbed at Gunpoint that year when they were in America signing a deal.

  • who is the girl in this video?

  • i have this song on a cassette i bought in a good will called zed music #100 techno mix. i wish i could get a hold of techno mixes 1 through 99

  • Luvs it.....

    Moby's Old-School Rave Mix|XLR8R: xlr8r.com/podcast/2010/06/moby/

  • @DidCharlyKillRave me too :-)

  • @DidCharlyKillRave I found it the same way :D gotta love Moby, gotta love the Messiah !

  • @WildHalfLife funny coincidence; i'm just listening to the podcast that i downloaded less than hour ago from iTunes, for free!!! rave hallelujah

  • thanks for this, been lloking for this for a while, couldn't remember the group, but this song always made me feel better.

  • lov this shite!

  • does anyone know if there's a remix that features the sampled vocals bit that cuts in every now and then in the second half?

  • i remeber gettin up to watch the hitman and her, the messiah was on live! i was about 7 or 8 my first crush was this bird! HA HA!

  • Back to the... future!

Always actually! Maybe even better than present. Thanks!

  • wow we are getting old if we all remember this track from way back in the DAY

  • I love this tune!

Anyone know who the lady vocalist is?

  • @pastamaster39

The lady in the video is just lipsyncing. The sample is from "Song to the Siren" by "This Mortal Coil". It won't let me link to the actual video on youtube, but if you zoom to 1:22 to hear that particular line.

  • @grantq2

YAY!...Then how wierd is it that she is covering a Tim Buckley song (same name) and she had a relationship with Jeff Buckley?!

  • @pastamaster39 The woman singing is Liz Fraser from the Cocteau Twins. This was sampled from their work with This Mortal Coil on the album --It'll End In Tears.

  • absolutley blinding track ! please dr who.....take me back to 92'

  • Man, I do miss all the old tunes. The Shamen, KLF, Sugarcubes remixes, that sort of stuff. Ha, where were you in '92... Thanks for posting this!

  • one of my favorite songs ever, always reminds me of the blue monkey sunderland

  • Sick. Never saw`the video. Thanks for this one. The rave mix was my fayv

  • I've been looking for this track for AGES!

  • Used to dance like crazy to this in the early 90's. Where is all of the good music now? Bring Messiah and all of the great rave music back.

  • DAMN !,Me an my mates used to get off our faces listening to this while clubbing around Norwich - good to hear it again !!

  • Amazing!

    xoxo

  • @proffesorcaresser

Wow. i think you're right! Ah, samples :)

  • A classic...Did I dream

  • GREAT TUNE :d

  • Who is the blonde bird miming to this in the video. Its not liz frazier

  • and then "who loves you and who do you love" sample is Killian from The running Man (an Arnie classic).

  • the woman singing is sampled from this mortal coil, and is liz frazier from the cocteau twins

  • My cousin is in this band "Ali Ghanni". I'm proud of what he did. Thanks to all his fans too. Messiah were a great group!

  • Its time to start ruuuuningggg!!! Yes lets run back 18 years and enter a classic rave party

  • fucking awesome track....you'll never ever replace the rave scene in the early 90's....

  • I agree...It was a mad and fucking amazing time. Dancing outside in the fields, by the runway.. ..Times were good then :(

  • @MXGORKY

    Pure SEX

  • @MXGORKY I totally agree the summer of 1992 was priceless, this track and many others are just a dream now compared to todays poor excuse for music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Timeless classic!

  • grat tune i remeber it well aswell, one of my fav tunes back in the day, i am 31 now, also check out kicks like a mule, and urban hype

  • One of the main Rave anthems of the early nineties Techno scene. I remember it well. Thanks for sharing.

  • omg I used to love this song in my early teens (I'm 30 now) as it was one of my big brother's favourite rave anthems. I'm watching The Running Man now and instantly recognised "Who loves you and who do you love"......"it's time to start RUNNING!". So I only just realised 5 minutes ago that Messiah sampled The Running Man - genius!! Such an awesome rave track; I might be showing my age but they don't make 'em like that anymore. Thanks to the person who posted the video and for sharing.

  • hunnypotbuzz im so with you on this, its a fantastic track and it took me ages to track it down. all i knew is that was a tune that sampled the running man talk about a needle in a hay stack. but as i looked i found out that there is another film sampled in this song. when you hear killian say "who loved you and who do you love" the crowd say " the messiah , the messiah" which was taken from monty python's life of brian " im now about to get in the car get the roof down and play this tune LOUD,

  • omg you hit the nail on the head with the "the messiah , the messiah" bit because I was playing the audience back on The Running Man and thinking to myself 'but it doesn't sound like they're saying that!'. Wow, do you think us two perhaps have a little too much time on our hands? lol Another fave of mine is Usura 'Open Your Mind' circa 93 - old skool baby!! lol So I'm guessing by your user name that you're 34 then? I'm 30 so we prob have similar tastes in Old Skool Dance, Trance & Rave tracks x

  • omg i have open your mind in the car i love that tune, took me a few times of watching total recall till i understood what was going on lol. im 34 in december but yeah it looks like we are on the same wave length with music. loved the utah saints stuff and anything from prodigy.

  • Not only do I have the 12 inch of this but I also danced to it plenty of times back in the day!!!

  • The video with Arnold in the actual movie and the actors is better...........but, this song is very hard to find in stores and the net, so great post, and thank u. DenVeR CoLoRadO

  • One of the best tunes ever. Absolutely brilliant.

  • Sick!! I'm tripping down memory lane totally drunk right now! First time I've seen the vid, btw, no idea that chick was so hot. Nice bonus!

  • be neither, i imagine'd she was a sample, lol

  • I remember this from when my sister was playing it. I must have been only about 9 or 10...

  • what i have been wondering for all these year... is who is the messiah? one guy or two? and did they take to many tabs and just vanish with no trace? same question for energy 52 - some one help put an age old myster to end for me? thanks alot for posting! many blessings!

  • i remember when this came out....cool then ..sucks now

  • cool then... cool now too!

  • This was another one of those big techno rave hits. Thanks for posting this!

  • At last!!!Finally we can all see the truly original video made for this track. And we can see Itsy Foster, who is the featured artist performing the vocals and wearing the silver outfit in the video.
