  • Everyone to Australia and new Zealand

  • The virus in l4d is based from rabies :s

  • Yay... Australia rocks!!

  • was up with left for dead music?

  • Good the uk is a rabies free country

  • @Toops144 You're right canine rabies probably doesn't exist in the UK, but still watch out for bats. Bats do not understand boundaries.

  • @rabiesaware I believe there was a case a couple of years ago in UK.

  • I was arguing with someone recently, perhaps you can help out. I live in central Europe and there are local populations of wild boar. Are they likely to catch rabies? The local fox population is sometimes infected.

  • @moominpic Any mammal can have rabies. So, the answer to your question is yes, a wild boar could have rabies.

  • @rabiesaware thanks.. Mind you, if a boar was walking towards me, I'd be running anyway.

  • @rabiesaware Yes, I believe there were a couple of bat related scares in UK in recent years.

  • 0.51 is Angus Young without a guitar!

  • @KioShinobi What do you mean???

  • hey i picked up a cat outside and it clawed my stomach will i be fine if it had rabies

  • @catshumpcats3 It would be good to find the owner of the cat and find out if the cat was up to date on its rabies shots.

  • Rabies is one of natures ways of saying "Hey, there's too many animals, let's get rid of some." Just like how parasitic fungus's keep the number of insects down.

It's just unfortunate that rabies can be spread to humans too...

  • @SamIves85

You need to realize, with as much of an impact as we have, there are way too many humans.

It's just unfortunate that rabies can be spread to other animals...

  • the mutated strain will turn the humans into exstreamly violent cannibalistic infetced almost zombie like in nature but o course still living and they can run, the reason they dont attack eachother is because of a hormone that acts as a mild repelent

  • ok i couldnt stop laughing at that deer

  • @Zwinky808 Why would you be laughing?

  • @rabiesaware because it is being funny lol

  • @Zwinky808 The deer had rabies and was dying. Do you still think rabies is funny?

  • @rabiesaware i never said rabies was funny... i just said that what the deer was doing was funny hehehe

  • @Zwinky808 I know it looks funny what the deer was doing, but I'm sure the deer didn't think it was funny. I have to give you a lot of credit for saying something, because I'm sure that a lot of people are thinking the same thing. Good going. But, now you know that if an animal is acting funny or moving strangely - stay away. Call the police and ask for animal control. Remember that rabies is contagious as it's passed through the saliva of a rabid animal. Stay safe.

  • my dog has had a change of her mood ever scince the day before yesterday she has been growling and snapping at us. the vests said they can't do anything with her.but we are gonna take her to another one.i can't even open the kennel door. please tell me what should i do because we are giving up,and she does ave aggresion problems torwards other people but not us PLEASE HELP ME!

  • @prissy5000 Did the Vet have any idea of what was wrong with your dog? Did you go to another vet for a second opinion? I'm not a vet, but as I understand it, any change in a mood of a pet should definitely get checked out. If she was mine, I would get the second opinion. Please let me know what happens. Debbie

  • @prissy5000 Humanity is being lied to by humans who want to make money off off you selling you stuff from a chemistry .giving it to your beloved pets that no one would put into food, but humans have been mesmerized, hypnotized by a lie. Reasons for persecution of the gay, and zoosexuals are also a lie. I see absolutely all the lies. The number is daunting. Satan is not in this world for nothing. I see all of his lies. All should tell all the words that I am speaking .make vaccinations illegal.

  • @kobidobidog What are you talking about? Your hard to understand.

  • I'm happy that were I live, it's free from rabies.

  • @maniac612 Actually, there are few places in the world that are free from rabies. Keep in mind that any mammal can get rabies.

  • @rabiesaware Yes, but I believe that Sweden are one of those places

  • I think rabies is a facinating virus. I was bitten by a rabid bat once, I have pre-exposure rabies shots so I was good to go. I had my titer checked.

  • @romeodelta1178 It is a fascinating virus, but so dangerous. Why did you get the pre-exposure shots? Were you traveling?

  • @rabiesaware Im an animal control officer

  • @romeodelta1178 What happened? As an animal control officer were you called in to a house? Where did this happen? You must have incredible stories.

  • @rabiesaware

yeah, fascinatin but SCARYIN AS HELL!

  • @Allosaurus333 You're right - it is scary! What's really scary is that most people don't think rabies exists in the U.S., but it does in our wildlife. Any mammal can get rabies and not all mammals have rabies. Your best protection is stay away from wild animals. Respect them. Give them their space. Google CDC Rabies to learn more.

  • @rabiesaware

    Vade retro, SPAMMA! XD

  • our continent doesnt have it as in australia. maybe because of the strict quarantine laws and being a remote continent.

  • 0:54 i feel bad for that animal. :(

  • ;( i think my pet skunk has rabies. he started to foam this last friday.

  • Wow im sorry your pet died josbrighteststar

  • Werewolf = human bitten by a rabid animal...?

  • @titodelibero

More probably vampires or somethin like dat, IMO

  • @titodelibero naaa thats a zombie :)

  • Yes, any mammal can get rabies. Check out our videos.

  • Really? I thought only bats and dogs can get rabies

  • you know every animal can get rabies.

  • just warm blooded p;acental mammals can get it, reptiles, birds and marsupials cannot get rabies

  • uh- a marsupial is a mammal- marsupials have pouches... that's where the babies suckle on the mammary glands and what they get carried around in. ie. kangaroo, sugerglider

  • but marsupials arent placental mammals. humans, cats, dogs, cows, etc. its why australia doesnt have rabies, most of its mammals are marsupials. their babies dont have a placenta. tey are born premature and put in the pouch for protection

  • @CodArk2 actually being a marsupial does not matter. All of those mammals can also still get rabies. The reason places like Australia are rabies free is because of the isolation (and strict control on incoming animals). Australia does have a virus in bats that is basically rabies just with a different name. Same group of viruses it could really be called a different strain of rabies.

  • I'm sorry but how does being a marsupial / being a pouch developing mammal inhibit a virus that attacks the nervous system in adult mammals?

  • @LionessCub1 some marsupials can carry rabies, but they don't spread it the way bats or dogs do. It is thought that differences in body temperature are what does it. ANY mammal can contract rabies. Marsupials, technically can get it also, but natural infection seems to not happen and has not been documented.

  • @kyndalcatlover no, non mammals do not get rabies. your statement that every animal can get rabies is inaccurate. Reptiles, birds, insects, fish, etc do not get or carry rabies

  • This video is soooo good! Informative and Entertaining!!
