Does anyone have the 1993 Semi-State game between Jeffersonville (Sherron Wilkerson) and White River Valley (Graves Bros.) AKA, the game that would have likely postponed the move to class basketball if "1A" White River Valley had won.....I'd love to see it uploaded if someone has it.
Were participating schools prohibited from bringing their own bands? At least an organ is better than a lame "neutral band" as they do in Illinois. Can't understand why some state associations have a problem with schools bringing their own bands - the NCAA allows it, doesn't hurt at all.
Also, how long was Indy 500 voice Tom Carnegie doing the PA at the games? I don't remember him doing it in 1993, when I attended.
@pk26pk26 There never were Bands during torny play as far as I remember. New Castle had sectionals and regionals and no bands..Indianapolis Semi States were no different. Mainly, The attendance was so good that a band would have just taken up valuable seating. And Carnegie did this for years. Maybe back to the 40's or 50's, till late 80's at least
@imnraged In 86, Anderson got lucky and beat Shelbyville in overtime in early game of final four. Marion went on to blow out Anderson as you may know in championship. Had Shelbyville won that first game, we would have given the Giants a much better game. I went to college with Teagle at Taylor and we were wingmates.
@Survivor87 These guys did a great job, always watched alot of those H.S. tournament games through the 80's until I got consumed by college studying. I even got a dvd copy on Ebay of Steve Alford (scored 57 pts) and New Castle in a blow out over I believe Broad Ripple.
Did any one else notice that at the start when he was recapping the other semi-final he made mention of the 15 points by East Chicago's Kenneth Lofton a.k.a. Kenny Lofton all-star MLB center fielder.
Jerry Baker, the voice of the IHSAA State Finals! Just hearing Jerry Baker takes me to those early spring mornings/afternoons/evenings in the 80s watching the state finals on WTTV-4 (if not attending in person).

Hmmm. Not really sure about the bands - not sure our school could have afforded it.
