@dowling1981 yes! i managed to dl it as couldn't get it anywhere else. really moving album. a touch melancholy some of the slower songs. and sufjan stevens' reinvention of 'free man in paris' is fantastic.

Free man in paris sounds absolutely appalling, completely off the tune. A case of you sounds tacky and too smoochy and Ladies of the Canyon is far too dark. Annie's contralto doesnt really work especially with Joni's original soprano version.

I love Joni Mitchell. I was really disappointed with a lot of the cuts. I did think that Prince's abridged version of "A Case of You" shone like a jewel. So rich. Annie Lennox and K.D.Lang did a great job, as did James Taylor with "River".

I wish others would have done this CD - at least half of it.Prince is great here,but one of my favorite songs "Edith and the Kingpin",

is totally ruined here.Elvis Costello should know better - he loves Joni! Chaka Khan does a great "Ladies Man" on her latest CD

I absolutely love Joni Mitchell.  I didn't discover her until college and I'm so glad I did.
