Talking about homes from hell, we bought a cheap property on a Greek Island which we viewed before we bought it.We knew it needed work and assessed the cost of repairs with the cost of the property. The view is spectacular! It took us a couple of years, but the final property is worth much more than we paid. Our neighbour however, bought his property closer to the cliff and was not told that it was on unstabled ground and his half-built house literally fell into the sea.Research-research-research!
have you ever thought that they dont want you in their country, a bit like living in england and the english dont want the foreigners here neither, it works both ways
@rabbithog Well if they don't want us in "their" country. Who ELSE is going to buy their property? The tourism from British people is worth multi-millions every year. We can go to Greece, Turkey, Spain, wherever we choose. If you think Egypt doesn't need tourism, fine :)
i work in Int Real Estate & visited Sharm for the purpose of checking out properties the developers wanted to sell, OMG never seen such inferior work
DONT BUY anything there, they just dissapear once they have your money
I think they have the worst developers in the world, bare wires stuck in electric sockets in the so called furnished rental apts, fitted kitchens made of plywood
& the biggest cockroaches i have ever seen, i wouldnt give a tenner for them
@ed291 What do you mean you should never buy abroad? Dont be a fool! I have been selling overseas property for 5 years. Sold dozens and dozens of properties with a value of tens of millions and never had one client get ripped off.
What do you do for a living? Have you even ever worked overseas?
@djguy100 Buying a very risky off plan property in a foreign country with different laws and rights does not sound foolish your right.
Let me clarify my previous comment, investing in your country means you benefit from rights, laws and trading customs you are familiar with, and if shit hits the fan you can get legal remedy easily. It also benefits your own countries economy.
I work in the Finance sectors and yes I regularly go abroad and was in Dubai at the height of the boom.
@elharam2008 no Mr wikipedia/geography teacher I didn't, Egypt is a country of Africa as recognised by the UN irrespective of the fact that Sinai is the only part in Asia,. Asia aint that great either incidentally, corruption and fraud are rampant in many parts so both Asia and Africa go hard.
Dont make me curse you or your mother mind your own business I didn't ask you for your politically incorrect comment. .

Tax avoiding motherfuckers, they wanted to use Egypt while not contributing to it. They got what they deserved.

Never buy off plan. Always use a lawyer, whatever the agent says. If it looks too good to be true, it is.

Very sad, I hope they have it resolved. Also you should never buy abroad... just invest at home and go on regular holidays instead.
