  • Frank's part is the best!

  • MASH!! Greatest TV series ever! When I was little the only way my grandma could get me to sit down and shut up was to put MASH on. She didn't mind cause she loved the show but she never understood how an 8 year old could be so into it. Even now at 24 I love it. I own 11 seasons and the movie, I have a t-shirt and a set of MASH dog tags my mother got me from a convention at the hospital she works at.

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • open up 2 youtubes and start them at diffrent times but let them play in the same time

  • i want this to be the actal vidoe its funnier

  • I was singing this at basic training the other day! haha

  • What does radar say ? Xx I love MASH !!!!

  • The nurses actually say

Oh the surgeons in the army

    Their brains they are profound

    But we'll take chopper pilots

They'll get you off the ground.

  • @lunaquintessa

I always thought the line was:

"Oh, the surgeons in the Army, they think they're quite profound,

"But we'll take chopper pilots, they'll get you off the ground."

  • "If it's so damn terrific how come I wear a dress?" I love Klinger!

  • I love M*A*S*H! :)

  • i love this show

  • @Datatasha4Ever Thx u

  • I miss this show!

  • Way to tell them Radar!!

  • My english is not so good, can anybody explain whats "Gee Ma" mean?

  • @Panzer654321 Gee but I want to go home is the phrase

  • @Panzer654321 Gee is just an exclamation, there's no perfect translation. Closest is probably "you know" Ma is an affectionate form of "mother". So "You know, mother, I wanna go home."

  • I hate that you used that last pic. Now I'm tearing up :'(

    lol

  • I love when Klinger delivers his verse and half the company doesn't sing because they're too busy shouting at him to fix the movie.

  • Love it!

  • (sing in time with song)

'oh id like to give this video a hundred thousand likes'....

id like to get those dislikes and stab 'em with a pike'

oh i have had a wonderful you tube life

gee but i like to be home

  • I think it is "Gee, but I want to go home."

  • @Danielle4re Nope, it's "Gee ma, I wanna go home." I have an original version on my hard drive. There may be other versions, but "gee ma" is the most original and common.

  • Great job

  • 57 tries?

  • Oh hawkeye and oh BJ, they think they're really smart, I'd like to take a scalpel and stab 'em in the heart.

  • @Azartusfar Me too.

  • @Azartusfar Oh I don't want no more of Army life, Gee Ma, I wanna go home!

  • Season 5, Episode 21, Movie Night

  • aww you took out Frank burns part!

  • Wow!! Thanks!! I was looking all over for this!! Thank you!!!

  • Thank you for uploading this! I wasn't even born when the show was running but in my opinion it's the best tv series ever made!

  • @TheRaker55 In the popular TV series, M*A*S*H, Colonel Potter's favourite film is My Darling Clementine. Clips from the film are shown in the season 5 episode, "Movie Tonight".

  • i love MASH

  • Thank you! I just saw the episode with this part in it for the first time last night and I loved it! Thanks for putting it up :)

  • gee mom I want to go back to ontario, please mom I want to go home. They say that in the army the chicks are mighty fine. you something something something, they'll give you frankenstein. gee mom I want to go back to ontario, please mom I want to go home.....My brothers sang this song in a different version in boy scouts when they were young. lol

  • sorry you miss the add from F. Burns :((

  • Donald Penobscott was a pussy with a gay name.

  • can't forget Frank's attempt though:

    Oh Hawkeye and oh B.J.,

    they think they're pretty smart,

I'd like to take a scalpel and stab them in the heart.

  • @jondatflindo Pretty much everybody in the M*A*S*H cast could carry a note. Not so much Larry Linville,God rest his soul.

  • You did a great job. I enjoyed it.

  • I have quick question. Um... Is this from the series cuz some of the voices sound like the people from the show like Potter and Klinger, then theres Donald thats mentioned. And if it is from the show could you tell me from which episode. Please and Thank You

    P.S. Great video.

  • thnx for uploading this, it takes me back when i was a nipper..

  • good but you should have let it run longer. Frank burns has one at the very end:

"BJ and Hawkeye think theyre pretty smart

I'd like to take a scalpel and stab 'em in the heart."

  • @bdash2 Burns's verse came later in the episode, long after everyone had finished singing this song.

  • If Henry Blake were in this episode, i think this is what he would sing:

Commanding in the army, it doesn't bring me joy; I'd prefer to leave it, and fish in Illinois.

  • @ExplorerDS6789 you make that up? and i wouldnt doubt it.

  • Darn right I did.

  • that really cool

  • @ExplorerDS6789 Definately! That would be so typical him

  • lol this reminds me that i got all eleven seasons on dvd

  • really? cable not good enof for you?=)

  • no i dont have cable

  • late night any good?

  • i have them too

  • Season 11 was boring as hell. They really just gave up.

  • in interviews they said they were running out of ideas from season 9. season 11 all they were tryin to do was tie loose ends up, if that makes sense.

  • They should have added some new characters. That would have generated many new ideas. What loose ends, by the way?

  • theres only so muc you can do. if they kept addin characters it would turn into a regular old soap opera. loose ends such as personal stories, growing relation ships, stuff like that. if u look at season eleven, yu notice they gradually become closer

  • They needed some new characters added to the mix. Not just the same 7 characters over and over. Plus, judging by the number of fanfiction stories written over the years, there was still PLENTY more to do. I myself have written 20, and I've included two original characters. I've even developed background characters who were never focused on, like Igor and Goldman.

  • i see what you mean

  • @ExplorerDS6789 It would have been nice if Frank Burns had been developed into more of a humane person had Larry Linville decided to stick around.M*A*S*H had begun to show signs of improvement just prior to Wayne Rogers and McLean Stevenson's departures, mind you,so it's really a tough call as to how much longer it would have lasted had they stuck around.

  • @landrykkb larry linville had said that he specifically didn't want frank burns to be more likable because "who do you want him to be.. alan alda?"

  • @ExplorerDS6789

One idea: Have some other doctors serve in the 4077th occasionally. Dr. Mark Craig of "St. Elsewhere" served in Korea and claimed BJ Hunnicutt as a drinking buddy. Since there's no evidence Hunnicutt ever served anywhere in Korea, 3 possibilities present themselves:

1.) Hunnicutt met up with Craig in Seoul

2.) Hunnicutt met up with Craig in Tokyo

3.) Craig did some drinking at Rosie's.

Of course, you'd need a younger actor to play the younger version of Mark Craig.

  • yeah what would be cool is if they make a modern M*A*S*H in afganestan or somthin were alan alda is the coloner potter of it

  • Alan Alda is 74 as of January 28, 2010. Wouldn't he be too old to play any military guy?

Harry Morgan was just shy of his 68th birthday when M*A*S*H ended in 1983. Yes, he's still around - if he makes it due to his advanced age, he'll be 95 on April 10, 2010.

  • so what alan alda could still do it or just maby come in as a higher ranking person who only comes once like mcarther

  • @johnnyh117 I'm surprised nobody thought of a modern day M*A*S*H on the big screen yet.

  • @ExplorerDS6789 Pretty much because there weren't really many more stories to tell.

  • @landrykkb Then they needed NEW characters.

  • @ExplorerDS6789 I do agree that they could have had a next generation sort of thing maybe years after its' cancellation in 1983,but that wouldn't have worked right away. The spin-off AfterMASH was sort of just beating a dead horse as it was with established characters returning to civilian life after the Korean War.

  • @johnnyh117 there was 13 seasons not 11

  • @sliimjim2 MASH ran from September of 1972 to February 1983; making the show's run 11 seasons.

  • lol!!!

  • np. thankyou

    "Oh Hawkeye and Oh, BJ,

They think they're oh, so smart,

I'd like to grab a scalpel,

and stab them in the heart!"

  • I loved it! We used to sing this song on the bus on the way to football games in the '70's.

  • really? did you sing this version or the real version

  • We sang the real version. Someone in our high school band knew the words of the song. They would start singing the song and everyone else jumped in and starting singing. Before long, everyone knew the words to the song. Occasionally, they would change the words to sing about teachers, football players, etc. Thank you for asking. I think you did a great job!

  • Cool what's the real name and words to this song..

I think i can safely say for all of us that know this song, we want to know..

  • thats to exact for me to find out

its called movie tonight but thats all i can tell you

  • After all these years, I remember that there was one more verse. It was sung by Frank Burns. He thought he was being clever, and he sang it after the song had ended and everyone had moved on (staircase wit). It went something like this:

    Oh, Hawkeye and BJ,

    They think theyre mighty smart

Id like to take a scalpel

And stab them in the heart.

Of course, everyone booed him. What a maroon!

  • ya i thought of puttng that verse in but it didnt fit in so....

  • how did it take you that long

  • o i had to use hypercam and microsoft powerpoint to make the video and im 12 so i messed up alot trying to get the song to match up with the pics.
