With the Chicom mask w/ the hose and larger filter, those are usually used in non-combat situations such as weapons labs or factories.

well gas masks with voice amps are used to make your voice clear so i dont think there are any gas masks that distorte you voice

The first ones are anti-fogging lenses, and if they're not clear, they're protective outserts for storage.

I heard something on the military channel on this show about Desert Storm. They said (Englishmen, one old and one younger. Think the younger one was his son) that it was critical to keep your head shaved so there was less of a chance of agent hazard. Something like that. Because in Desert Storm they were seriously freaking out about the probability of Saddam using chemical and biological weapons. Just a little bit of info.

You can put a small filter on the bottom of the Buffer filter so it can changed out during an attack.

it is unwise to modify gas masks for real NBC use unless you are a trained expert but even then i dont think it would be a good ideal and i would never permenently modify one of my gas masks

those plastic voice box disks actually make the box work if its tight enough. think of it as a drum. when you hit it, it makes a noise. when your voice bounces off of the disc, the sound is amplified out of the other side like a drum. much better than the isrealy M15 where a flap of rubber moves in and out when you talk. just thought id share my info.

that is actually the hungarian 70m gas mask. you can tell because the holes on the voice box are smaller, are in a squared form, and there are more of them where as the russian one has a rounded configuration and bigger/ less holes

the soviet coffee can filters are called EO-16 and EO-65K and are slightly larger than the TF-1 filter
