  • @veeseee128 OH YES I DID! What are you talking about? Honestly do you know anything about music? Not tryin to be disrespectful but it doesn't sound like it to me. Fact: Rick James was known as the King of Funk. Fact: Back in the day Prince opened for Rick James. Fact: Rick James NEVER opened foor Prince. Fact: I have NEVER heard ANYONE until now call Prince music Punk Funk. If someone told you that they gave you some very bad info...

  • @veeseee128 Ok... now this is funny because "Punk Funk" was something that Rick James came up with and nobody else called their music like that. Prince is considered as the creator of so called Minneapolis Sound, sometimes called also as Minneapolis Funk. And that's how it is

  • @veeseee128 Rick James is the KING OF PUNK FUNK! Prince was a bit funk but more like pop funk, Rick was the real deal more SOUL more FUNK more Street more impact! Prince compared to MJ is on a POP standard not Funk, overall Rick James> than Prince. Prince is overrated you can buy his cd's on ebay for pennies, try buying Bustin outt L7,Throwdown,Glow, Cold Blooded, The Flag, Urban Rhapsody on ebay you won't find it for less than $30.00! That's how great and collectible the sound of Rick James is!

  • @BIGROB80 no, thyere hard to find because they dont make them anymore because they dont sell. Prince sells sou will see his stuff everywhere. Bustin outl L seven is out of Print because its not a big seller.

  • rick was good but he didnt blow up like prince. prince took punk funk to the next level.

  • @veeseee128 ??? Prince has never been Punk Funk. Prince is more Rock than anything else. And besides Rick James was the King of Funk. And a King is much higher than a Prince...

  • wow, this song .....brought back so many memories....great album...1979....

  • Now dis is real shit here listen 2 that guitar part in this song ...rick james was a pure musical genius ... He was hard core punk funk 4 sure

  • I can picture grace jones dancin to this on stage with rick.

  • beautiful song!!! Thanks

  • soul rock funk

  • Rick James Bitch! Tru Legend

  • I miss 1979. my pops use to play this all the time.

  • super sexy music

  • You see the nameof the song. Fool on the street. He lived the street life. You can hear the pain in his lyrics. My respects this broths got down funk in peace.

  • 2 people who dislike this are Chris Brown fans

  • Randomly clicked on this song and I hav to say never really listened to to many RJ songs but I do like

  • only cool people knew about this album!!!

  • @aricars6263 definitely!

  • one of my favourite songs, that's a real song, no rihanna/lady gaga techno-shit. btw I'm 22.

  • @PowerCrumb45 LOL I LOVE RICk JAMES and im 23 we have good taste in REAL music!

  • @MysteriousButterly

try to infect your friends with good taste^^ I already did that, it worked sometimes :)

  • @PowerCrumb45 im so glad people asyoung as u r can truly appreciate beautiful music! this shit will never be duplicated! this man was a complete genius with a pure strong soul;ful voice and a great ear for ciomposing notes to all of tha songs he has written not only for himself but for numerous artist in tha industry at that time! all of tha sounds u hear in this song r live instrument and probrably one synthesizer keyboard!beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rick and prince put punk funk on the map. rick was soul punk funk andf prince was eccentric punk funk.

  • Rick james taught huggy bear everything he knows. with a voice like this he could get pussy like the common cold. Im mean rick was out there. My pops had all his albums. I remember listening to this when i was a kid. I was dancin my ass off with my little bell bottoms and fro.

  • Love Rick James' soul from the streetz; it's real.

  • got to love those old school 7 min plus songs!!!

  • can we all just get along lol

  • It's Jazzy.

  • Man this brings back memories Yall hear those instrumentals and harmonies WoW!!

  • Love that bass guitar...

  • his music will never stop movin my feet :)

  • it gets da best 5 minutes in dat break is pure fire

  • Does anyone have this on mp3?

  • @Cas82958 youtube to mp3.com or something like that...

  • From 79-83 nobody made more hits or sold more records then RICK JAMES. In 1984 Michael Jackson broke.Nothing against Mike( I am a fan), but RICK should have been bigger. The problem was that "white people" and the WORLD weren't ready for RICK. If you were there when all this happened then you know what I'm talkin' 'bout. For all of you that were there ....throw it up!!!! R.I.P the KING of FUNK. You will always be remembered in or memories and through your music.

  • @ChampagneHec nah rick could sing, but mike was better. i think i would put rick as my number 3 favorite vocalist. michael jackson is number 1, glen goins from p-funk is number 2, and rick is hella close number 3.

  • @ChampagneHec "white people" are to blame for Rick not getting the recognition he deserved? not only are you a "racist douche bag", your a "complete idiot".

  • @ChampagneHec NAH! I WAS THERE AND IF RICK WAS TO CLAIM ANY THRONE IT WOULD OF HAD TO BE AROUND 80 TO 82 by 1984 it was to late for rick to claim any throne especially the KING OF POP THRONE by that time rick couldnt outdo THE MOTOWN 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY MIKE besides rick was too busy doing COKE AND WHITEGIRLS

  • it's so good !!!

  • Legend!

  • This should have been another huge hit for Rick James! Great Flute.

  • whats the name of th song in 50 cent movie with the gun part, lol

  • I always loved this album cover!

  • Anybody know the song/sample at the end of the track?

  • @JayRose1000 You and I

  • I had this on 8-track, yeah remember those days, '79? This song starts off good, awesome flute but then gets confusing. Like a bad Santana song. Had to give it a thumbs down, sorry! The only song I played from this LP was Bustin' Out.

  • @SARaider33 Every song Rick touched was GOLD!

  • @therealraybaby I agree, I love Rick, have all his albums! This song was not one of them, the ending sucks!

  • @therealraybaby from 79 -83 no one sold more records than Rick then THRILLER MICHAEL JACKSON

  • @myfunkyway9 What about James Brown ? Who was more famous out of James Brown or Rick James ?

  • @OneWay789 come on GF JB I LOVE RICK BUT JB the GF is the most famous.

  • @myfunkyway9 Yes , thats true . I like Rick too but Love James Brown . By the way , did Stevie Wonder and Rick James ever meet each other ?

  • this song plus 2 tabs oif good acid = something similar to divinbe intervention... but with that ol' ghetto touch.

  • Love this song. Another clsassic Rick James Funk and Roll song with a Flute! Amazing!

  • hell yeah this is music

  • The music sounds like "it Must Be Magic" especially the bass.

  • @rufus317 Well since this came out first then I guess Must Be Magic has to sound like this...

  • @FireitupBedford You get my vote on that one dude!

  • @rufus317 It does put you in the mind of It Must Be Magic. And didn't Rick play on that album?

  • Rick James is in the Pimp Hall of Fame.

  • Awesome!

  • power tune!

  • Hey bro , can you imagine in the 70s dancing and partying in a one of those clubs , listening to disco and funk and the soul music too . Then afterwards having a great time with friends and then later going home and watching Good Times or Sanford and Son . Goodness gracious , the 70s was , if not the best decade , one of the best ever . Oh yeah so if I had a band I would have Rick James in it and maybe Marvin Gaye and absolutely have Stevie Wonder . Even though they all make different music

  • The 70's Were Great. Since Michael's Passing, I'm Seeing A Lot Of Trends Starting Back Up From The Fro's, To The 70's Music, And Some Have Even Started Back Wearing Jheri Curls. I Don't Know Whether The Curls Are A Good Thing Or A Bad Thing LOL! I Just Wear The S Curl Personally, But If They Find A Way To Make A Better Jheri Curl Without The Horrible Activator, I'll Definetly Rock It!

  • Thats right . I hope there is alot more of the trends from the 70s . I would love to start seeing more Afros and Jheri Curls . I went and got a Jheri Curl last week . Its cool but it gets dry quick . So i have to wash it or put curl restorer in it . Curl restorer is almost the same thing as activator . the only thing is you just rub it in your hair and dont have to spray activator . Oh and Michael Jackson had a Jheri Curl but did Rick James have a real Jheri Curl or was that a Jheri Curl wig ?

  • Rick Definetly Had A Jheri Curl, But It Wasn't Your Typical Curl. His Hair Was Unbelievably Detailed. It Was Kind Of A Mix Between Braids And A Jheri Curl. He Probably Had The Second Best Curl Behind Michael Of Course.

  • Oh okay . Because I thought he had a Jheri Curl wig . Its good Rick had an actual Jheri Curl because he wore extensions with his braids . But they were all cool hairstyles but Jheri Curl is my favorite and yes Michael Jackson 's Jheri Curl is outstanding . Mines is starting to look like his a bit . Lionel Richie had another one of the best Jheri Curls . yeah and I need to get some activator or restorer because my curl starts drying too quick .

  • Yea, Rick Wore His Jheri Curls During His "Street Songs" Era Through The Late 80's. I'm Getting My Curl Done Probably Tomorrow Or Monday. Girls Seem To Really Like Guys With Curls Because I Get A Lot Of Attention When I Have Them.

  • Yep that was a good look on Rick and I got my Jheri Curl last week and I have gotten alot of attention with them too . I love the Jheri Curl . I just dont like that they get dry so quick and you have to keep puttin restorer on them and it runs out . I need some activator now . lol

  • Yea, Back In The 80's, You Had To Carry Around The Bottle Of Activator With You All Day Long. The Activator Was Basically A Second Body Part Along With The Curl. Nowadays, The In Hair Style Is Dreds. They're Cool If You Take Care Of Them, But Most Guys Dreds Look Horrific.

  • Thats right man . I even started to think about that . I need to get some activator . Oh yeah , dreads look cool but they do start lookin bad if you dont take care of them . But it looks like Im gonna have to get some activator to carry around all day . lol

  • Yea, So When Did You Start Listening To Rick?

  • I started listening to Rick James a long time ago . I dont even remember when but it was a while ago . Oh and cool bro , I will be sure to do so . Check out that old school joints .

  • Aight Cool, And Can You Tell Your Friends To Look Up Me Up, Subscibe, And Send Me A Friend Request So I Can Spread Out The Music. I'd Appreciate It.

  • For sure bro . I ' ll do that . Hopefully they come and check out your channel . You know alot of youngstas nowadays dont know too much about the old skool joints like this and others , even though Im sort of a youngster too . Haha ! But definitely bro I will be sure to do so .

  • Whats up bro , how you been ? I dont know if I asked you already but did Michael Jackson and Rick James ever meet each other ? By the way , cool joints that you uploaded . Keep up the good work bro .

  • What's Up, I've Been Good. Yeah, Michael and Rick Knew Each Other. Rick Actually Knew His Entire Family Personally Since The Old Motown Days. Rick Actually Spoke On Behalf Of Michael During His 2003 Trial In An Interview. He Said He Loved Him, And That The Whole Trial Was Just Used Because The Media Could Not Stand A Black Man With His Finances, Power, And Celebrity. The Only Thing He Said He Had Was Peter-Pan Syndrome, Which Rick Said He Had Also.

  • Thats cool bro . Yeah I saw a picture of Rick James and James Brown together so I know they knew each other and MJ knew James Brown too and since I love Rick James and Michael Jackson 's music so much I was wondering if they met and knew each other . Its good they did . They need to have a picture of them together or a video of them .

  • Yeah. I Think Michael Would Have Worked With Rick, But You Know, Rick Had His Troubles During The 80's, Which Michael Was In His Prime. The Small Rilvary That Prince And Michael Had Should Have Been A Three Way Rilvary. It Would've Been Awesome To See Them All Go Against Each Other Because They Were Different, But Alike.

  • Yeah that would have been great to see them in a three way rivalry . I know Michael Jackson and Prince being compared alot and they were both probably in competition but with Rick James and Prince , it was probably more competition there huh ? Rick James inspired Prince and then Prince became a little bigger and Rick was sort of jealous of him . I wonder who was compared more out of Rick and Prince or Michael and Prince . Yea , Michael and Rick would have been a wonderful combination .

  • After Rick's Reign During The Street Songs Days, Prince Took Over When He Released Purple Rain. It's Like Rick, Michael, And Prince Ruled The 80's Respectedly. Rick Had 1980-1981 With "Street Songs", Michael Had 82-84 With "Thriller", And Prince Had Late 84-85 With "Purple Rain". Michael and Prince Was The Star Battle Of The 80's Though. Michael And Prince Was Going To Settle it Through Michael's Song "Bad", But It Ended Do To The "Your Butt Is Mine" Line.

  • Yeah so I guess Michael and Prince were compared to each other more than Rick and Prince . Oh yeah and I do remember Prince saying something to Chris Rock about that " Your butt is mine " line from " Bad " . lol

  • I Do Believe That Michael Would've Won Overall. Prince Is An Amazing Musician, And A Great Dancer, But Michael Is Not The Best In The Business For Nothing, Although, I Wish Prince Would Go Back To Making Music Though. Maybe He Could Find A Way To Incorporate His Older Style Of Music To Create Something New.

  • Yea , itwould be nice for Prince to start making more music . Another prince record would be great . When you look at when Michael Jackson was a kid and then picture him during his Thriller days , its just incredible to know that a kid would become as big or maybe even bigger than Stevie Wonder and others like him and James Brown and others . By the way bro , if you can find Rick James behind The Music or Michael Jackson behind the music , upload it if you can . .

  • I Got You. I'll Attempt To FInd It. I Think Everyone At Motown Knew That MJ Was Special, But I Don't Think Anyone Knew Besides God That MJ Was Going To Be As Monumental As He Was During His Thriller Reign And To This Day. Many Attempt To Re-Create His Style, Voice, And Dancing Skills, But Everyone Fails Pretty Much. That's How You Know That His Abilities Were A Gift From God.

  • Thanks bro , appreciate it . If your able to find it and upload it , just hit me up . Oh and Michael ' s talent were straight from God . Michael was an angel and very down to earth person . Yeah he was already a big start but was incredibly large during Thriller days . Oh and besides Michael , which of The Jacksons had the Jheri Curl ?

  • Actually, All Of Them Had The Jheri Curl. I Think Joe Had One Too. They All Wore Them Up Towards The Late 80's Except Michael. When Michael Was In The Bad Area, He Had The "Leisure Curl" or "Wave Nouveau" Hairstyle. Instead Of The Typical Jheri Curl, It Was More Like A Long, Curly Perm.

  • Oh okay . Yeah I know Michael had one for sure and I know Randy had a jheri curl too but wasnt too sure about the others and Michael had the long curly perm type hair during his " Bad " era because a few years before that , his hair caught on fire during the pepsi commercial . So I think he had to wear wigs after that too .

  • Yeah, But That's Fine. Everyone Knew That He Had Probably Some Of The Best Hair In The World, So Having To Wear A Wig After His Scalp Suffered Third Degree Burns Is Fine. I'm Getting That Leisure Curl That He Had During The Bad Era. You Said You Had A Jheri Curl Right?

  • I feel you and yes , I had a Jheri Curl but guess what ! I just got rid of today . I had to get rid of it because it was greasy even without activator and the chemicals are just no good and it was messing with my skin . So I have a fade again . When my hair grows back , I will probably get a Leisure Curl as well or maybe just regualr curls . That Jheri Curl is somethin else .

  • Yeah. When I Had My Jheri Curl, It Was Cool, But It Was Too Much To Maintain, And It Started To Make My Hair Straight When It Dried Out. Now, I Just Have A Blowout, And When My Fro Gets To The Right Size, I'll Have My Hair Done In A Couple Of Months. I've Seen Some Guys With It , But It Dosen't Look So Great On Them. Maybe It Has To Do With Height IDK.

  • Same here bro . When I had my Jheri Curl , it was too much to keep up with and plus even without activator , its still greasy and the chemicals are no good , especially on the skin . So I will just get my natural curls back or try a Leisure Curl . Oh and they say MJ 's favorite color was Red and Black . I wonder what RJ 's favorite color was . I have seen him wear red quite a bit too .

  • I Think It May Have Been Red And Black Too. On The "Come Get It" Album, He Wore Black, On The "Bustin Out Of L 7" Cover He's Wearing Red And Black, And It's The Same From The "Street Songs" Cover. I Think Since Rick Was A Pure Rocker, He's Going To love The Color Black More, But I Think He Also Liked Red Too.

  • Yep I thought it would probably be so too . I like blue and purple and green but now Im starting to red too . lol

  • So, do you personally want to become a professional musician, or are you just an avid fan of music. I'm seeing so many people who want to do professional music now more than ever because of MJ's career.

  • Im an avid fan of music but I would love to actually be a professional musician as well . My problem is i wouldnt know what to write about . That would be my problem .

  • Well For Me, I Use Personal Experiences To Begin With. Everything Else Is Just Imagination. I Know That Sounds Too Simple, But That's Just How My Mind Works. I Think The First Thing You Have To Do Is Either Find A Style Of Music That Works For You, Or Try Your Hand Into Everything. I Have A Voice That I Can Feel Comfortable In Any Genre, So I'm Kind Of Lucky. But What Kind Of Music Do You Want To Create?

  • I see . Thanks bro , I may start to do that as well . I just havent been doing much as of lately so it would take me quite a while to come up with something to sing about . Oh and if you start singing , you could also upload some of your stuff . That would be cool .

  • Yeah Sure. I Won't Be Singing Seriously Probably Until Later On This Year Or Whenever, But It'll Be Soon. I'm Just Waiting To Find Some Talented Musicians And People To Round Up First. After That. Then We'll Start Our Creation Process. But If You Come Up With Something, Show Me The Lyrics, And I'll Check Them Out. Either I Could Help You Write A Song, Or I Could Make Some For You Some Day. Either Way, Just Let Me Know.

  • @DaSpaceBass Prince never stopped making records. He just usually releases them independently so they're not out that long. He has a new one out now called "Twenty10" and one last year called "LotusFlow3r"/MPLS Sound". Terence Trent D'Arby from that era also still releases music under the name Sananda Maitreya.

  • Hey Man, I've Started Uploading Some Old School Music To My Channel, So If You Get A Chance, Check Them Out.

  • Thats right James Brown laid down the soul foundation . Even Rick James was inspired by James Brown . Oh and the best groups have to be The Temptations and The Four Tops and Earth , Wind and Fire .

  • No Argument There. Here' s One That May Take Some Time.........

If You Could Create Your Own Legendary Band, Who Would You Put In It, And Who Would You Have Produce Them?

  • Oh yeah definitely bro . If I could make a legendary band I would definietly have Rick James be the producer but at the same time I would want to have in him in the group . But that before he got messed up by the drugs . It would be nice to maybe have James Brown but I would choose Stevie Wonder instead . Stevie Wonder is my favorite singer ., I think he is better than james Brown and Rick James and most of everyone . I would really like to have a band like Earth Wind and Fire .

  • Oh and yeah , I feel that if Rick James had layed off the drugs he would have been even better and he definitely would still be alive . I love funk and I like it more than pop but even though Michael Jackson pop , he might have been the better out of the two . Sometimes its still hard . Another good one is Rick James or James Brown . lol

  • I Would Pick Rick Over James, But Don't Get Me Wrong, James Laid The Soul Foundation For EVERYONE, Except Of Course Little Richard, Who Was James' Number One Inspiration. Rick's "Punk-Funk" Is Just Undeniable. As Far As My Ideas For Music, I'm Just A Free Spirit. Whatever Idea Comes, I Just Roll With It, But My Foundation Of Music Was Funk, Soul, Rock, And The Blues.

  • I Got A Battle For You. Who Would You Choose In................

    Parliament Vs. Funkadelic

  • Thats hard because they are both too similar . I thought they used to be the same group . But I think maybe Funkadelic might be a little bit better .

  • I Would Choose Funkadelic. Before The Two Became "Parliament-Funkadelic" During The Late 70's, They Were Two Seperate Bands. Funkadelic Was Basicially A Mixture Of Soul, Funk, And Rock. Parliament On The Other Hand Was Into Funk And Disco. I Love Both, But I've Always Enjoyed Funkadelic More. What Would've Have Been Amazing Is If Jimi Hendrix Would Have Joined Funkadelic Like He Wanted To Before He Passed. Could You Imagine Jimi And Bootsy In The Same Band Jammin?????

  • Does anyone know what part of Buffalo Rick James is from ? Like what street did he grow up on ?

  • @kjw607

Rick Is From The East Side Of Buffalo. I'm Not Sure What Street Or Avenue, But He's From That Area In The Inner City.

PS. This Is One Of My Favorite Songs Ever!

  • @DaSpaceBass , thanks man and yes this is one of my favorite joints evere . This is also one of Rick James greatest songs along with Bustin Out on Funk and Give it to me Baby and Big Time and Cold Blooded and many more .

  • No Problem. Rick Had Numerous Hits, But My Favorite Was His First Album "Come Get It!" Tracks Like "Mary Jane", "You And I", And "Hollywood" Is Just Classic Rick James. I Adore "Street Songs" As Well Because It Hits Home. "Ghetto Life" Just Rips Right Through Me Every Time.

  • Yes you are most definitely correct . I wish I was here in the 1970s . To be partying to Rick James and James Brown and Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson and being in the disco clubs and just enjoying much more greatness of the 70s .

  • No Doubt, But SInce MJ's Passing, Many People Have Now Gotten Into Music From The 70's and 80's. You Never Know, Disco Might Actually Make A Comeback!

  • Thats right bro , I sure hope so . I want the 60s to come back but I really want the 70s and 80s back . Mostly the 70s . I hope the Afros and great music back then makes a return and the disco clubs and all that comes back around . Oh and its so hard choosing whos better out of Rick James or Michael Jackson .

  • I Love Rick, But Michael Seriously To Make To An Entirely Different Atmosphere. Rick Was Definetly On The Verge Of Reigning Supreme During The Late 70's and Early 80's, But The Drugs Really Tore Him Down :( Rick Set The Stage With "Street Songs" For Michael's "Thriller" And Prince's "Purple Rain" As Far As That Fusion Of Soul, Funk, Pop, And Rock. I Just Believe That Rick Is "The King Of Punk-Funk" And Michael Is "The Overall King Of Music."

  • It Would Be Nice, But The Talent Just Isn't There. Today, Music Is A 9-5 Driven By Technology. Back Then, If You Couldn't Sing Well With Your Normal Vocals, You Couldn't Cut It. Even Though There Are Musicians Who Try To Create That Old Music, It Just Doesn't Sound The Same. I'm A Musician And I Sing, And My Philosophy Is That The Only Way To Bring Back Older Music Is If We Connect It With Something Totally New And Fresh, But Soulful!

  • Yes bro you are 100 percent correct . I feel the same way too . Many of the people nowadays just dont relate to the old school stuff in the 70s and 80s and they wouldnt sound the same . I just hope someone comes around that can bring back that sound and talent from back then and make it sound good and good enough to influence young ones who can sing to do the same and then maybe alot of the styles and music similar to the 1970s could make a return . Oh and maybe you have that 70s sound .

  • great song

  • Man, Rick really was a bad mu'fucka! "Hold my drink, bitch!!!"

  • Punk Funk Forever!

  • awesome song :D RIP ya biatch

  • RIP RICK

  • Rick James a musical genius, a legend always remember that !

  • jealous not to be with those ine the streets .....

  • Rick James you wil be allways with us !!!!

  • this reminds me of the projects every building was blastin this album and "bustin out" was the shit when the dj woulld drop it at the block parties

  • Love this Funky -old school---Such a great mix of instrumentation---RJ--You was the greatest!

  • another chilli song from him

  • Funny, it seems to be the summer of 79' again and the follow up to 1978's fantastic "Come Git It", James Ambrose Johnson, Jr. (February 1, 1948 August 6, 2004) Bustin' OUt of L7, "Fool On The Street". Rick, we miss ya baby, my oh my where has the time gonig.

    Sy-

  • Party jam .

  • this is the shit!

  • I think this shit is cool, its funny how they make R&B today like it cant have no rock or jazz , it all has to sound electronic. Thats one of the reasons why i like old school R&B, its pretty much a mixture of everything, RIck James combines soul with rock with jazz, never heard him do blues though, that would be cool

  • My name is Funkchild ...Shut the fuck up ! Yall don't know shit about my by Rick James...See We both from Buffalo NY

  • ???? What did I mis here?

  • They just released a new Rick James DVD today. Mine is on it's way...One place that is carrying it is Best Buy...

  • Believe it or not.. There was a lot of Dual Bass in the recordings. Rick would track 3 to 4 guitar parts in one song and play it the same on stage.

  • Outstanding song. I remeber him singing this song on some show called Soul Alive-NY. Anybody have that clip?

  • Haven't seen it but would sure like to...

  • no but i have a clip of them performing this on soultrain in 79

  • can anyone get me an album link for bustin out? i cant find one anywhere!

  • It might be on I-Tunes

  • YEEEEEEEEEEES! I'm so gald to see this osong finally up. it's the epitome of funk and I like the quasi-AfroLatino feel in the second half.

  • Amazing song!

  • Dig the bass line. Rick had funky bass lines for days.

  • Make that years! Lol!

  • That would be Oscar Alston bass player for the Stone City Band!

  • Well don't be so sure. Rick played just as many bass lines on record as Oscar if not all of them. Oscar was put to use more when Rick the Stone City Band was on tour.

  • That's true but you can tell the difference between Oscar and Rick. Oscar's style was very definitive that's how I know that this is him. Just like on "Give It To Me Baby".

  • I haven't heard this song in years!!! It's just as obscure as "Now My Love Is Gone" from the "Fire It Up' project. I was a freshman in high school and my girl had just broke up with me but still wanted to fool around but date other people and all that. I sat her down and played this track for her. Never saw her again after that day. Rick was the boy.

  • yup!me 2 man this n come n2 my life,if it was 4 rick, switch, ewf n other funk slow jams prince's do me baby i would'nt got none cuz' one day me &my boy had these dips over i put ondo me baby ,my boy said "take that shit off, man" the dip said, "y u takin'itoff", then start taking her clothes off,he said put it back, putitbackon,i was leafing, funk uncut.

  • I had "Stormy Love and When Love is Gone" up together and UMG took it down. If there's something your looking for thats not up here under my name rest asure UMG took it down. The stupid part is there taking mostly the ones that are out of print and you can't even buy anymore. I put it up here for people to enjoy it's not like I'm making money off of it. I use my personal time to try and bring a smile to someone for a change...

  • lol!!! That's a heck of a a story. Rick James would command women. My old co-worker was in the music business during the 70's and 80's and he toldme that The Chappelle Show skit was accurate.

  • They just released a new Rick James DVD today. Mine is on it's way...One place that is carrying it is Best Buy...

  • I bought it...the video for this song is on there too. I laughed my @$#$ off at the costumes.

  • hey what dvd was that man, please tell me. is it documentary?

  • Thanks fireitup! You have the best Rick Jasmes collection on youtube. Thanks so much for this.
