Amazing.  I've read several times that Juan Atkins is credited with coining the term "Techno" in around 83 (?).... this was 1981.

@AlexAlcyone in japan ymo's music style is called "techno pop" since soon after their debut in late 1978 and it's often called "techno" for short. for example their 1979 album "solid state survivor" includes a hit tune titled "technopolis."
