LOL! Loved the "Tell the Queen" thing. But I think people shouldn't try to find physic mistakes in Fantasy movies/series/books. Gold could perfectly melt at 0ºc in a fictional world, the author just had to write to it to make it true. If we're going that way let's just then look at the existence of Dragons and giant wolves and winter zombies.

Up to a certain point, a story is exposing the world of the story, and explaining what's allowed and what isn't within that world. Anything it establishes clearly, the reader will be willing to accept, and suspend disbelief over. Some elements in this series are based on our world like gravity, human anatomy, building materials (stone, wood), precious metals (gold, silver) and temperature, which also retain their properties.

(for example, Hodor accidentally enthralling the wolves with the mirrors reflection and as a result, being the simpleton that he is, also being completely blissfully entertained himself) Hodor is a sweet heart ;) he'd never have done that on purpose

I just figured a guy that calls boats 'wooden horses' wouldn't concern himself with the ancient bloodline or lineage of someone he was about to horribly murder.
