  • I just got it. The quality of the audio is nice as fuck and when I mix and master dat hoe...nigga.

  • This mic isn't very good, it has a boomy sound to it.

I'd recommend either saving for an SM58 or for those on a budget, go look at a Behringer XM8500 it's cheaper than both and apparently holds it own against the SM58.

  • Can i use it on my computer?

  • i have one and want to use it with my new EV PL84 condenser mic that needs phantom power i don't want to ruin this one if i use them together can i do this and not have any problems?

  • I have a problem.. when I plug it in my PC it gets a veeery low noise when I sing and the sound only gets to my left speaker

  • how did you record that with the mic

  • does it need phantom power or battery or power off a camcorder?

  • @iseecheese no, its a passive dynamic so straight into a camcorder, you may need a lead that goes xlr to 3.5mm though.

  • I have this mic and I think is a somewhat 'dark' . you have to do some eq to get the most of it (mainly raising the Hi's and lowering the basses). As other user said "it's like a blanket covering the monitors". use it for talking not for singing

  • what type of plug does it have to go in a computer eg. usb

  • @madman1128 Well I've never seen a mic with a usb and even so it won't be as good as an XLR or 1/4 jack.

  • I use that for recording

  • I Used a pair of PG58's at one of my gigs, it wasn't very good sound. These are more suited for talking, not singing or other applications. SM58's and Beta's all the way.

  • @bigdjindustriez Thankyou for your evaluation as I am looking to buy a mic at the moment and specifically I was looking at a Shure PG58 on eBay to use for recording lead and beack-up vocals. Without your coment I would most likely have wasted my money on something I had pinned high hopes. I just assumed you could trust the "Shure" brand. If it said it is good for vocals it is - conveniently leaving out that the KIND of vocals it's good for a spoken words, not singing....thanks again!

  • And Oh yeah Shure is a safe bet if you need a mic of any kind. There's plenty of other good brands as well but remember it will cost you for a good equipment, it's worth it to pay a little more for the good stuff. The good brands will last and re-sell high.

  • cool, i might get one for our gigs!

  • First, or so I think lol Shure is never bad IMO
