i never played this game. I almost bought it one time but my bro talk me out of it. I have much respect for this game as it looks great on the ps2 and the sounds and physic look and sound great, heck im not gona lie the sounds are better than gt4 but gt4 a had a slight edge on graphics but still this game looks wonderful. People who have not played GT4 with a logitech wheel know not of the pure genius of GT4. GT4 has the most accurate feedback out of every racing game I've played on PS2. The attention to track detail is incredible as you feel and have to fight imperfections in the road just like real life. If you're playing GT4 with a dual analog, you're not playing GT4. If you are infact playing with a wheel and still think it sucks, you can't drive.

in Enthusia you can do easily.

gt4's corner exit is super fake, the car goes out the turn straight on with 2 wheels spinning and yet the car is still going straight on. It appears when it's actually drifting it's just using the initial fishtail and the wheelspin just fools the physics to keep the fishtail going. The rear wheelspin has no say on pushing the back out
In this respect GT2 is more realistic, flooring the car out the turn actually pushes the back end out drastically. Not spinning 2 wheels and aiming forward.

yes i do believe that gran turismo is far better but if u wanna really drift go to gt3 use the orange nsx in S class and take off traction but leave on the SMS i believe it's called, and if ur far enough go into Simulation and u can really tweak out the effects to your desire, it's alot easier on the round tracks like special stage route 5 (wet)and 11.... but ya just experiment it's fun

The BIGGEST loss of driving experience is that you just cannot drive every car as you should, because you always have the SAME controller/wheel no matter what car you're using. So There is NO real simulator in whole world if you ask me. Even the driving "position" is always the same, depending where do you sit.

Still, neither a brick or a block of soap are realistic, that's what LFS and GT-R are for.
Enthusia is way better than GT4 in terms of realistic game playing. Sure GT is the original driving simulator, but admit it, they need to fix alot of things. PC are a whole different category. No counsel game will ever touch a PC driving sim.
Gran Turismo aby the original real driving simulator. The PC has some sims that beat both of these game as far as physics though. I just love gt. It's what got me started loving cars. Yep the 1st one ever since then I've been learning as much as i can about road racing drifting and mechanics.
Enthusia is much worse, it doesnt have NEARLY the amount of stuff GT4 has in it. The reason some stuff is a bit off in GT4 is because there's MORE important things in the game then whooo, adding two more degress in a drift...Sorry, didn't you can't drive the real way: Turning. Theres a game for drifting, called Drift. Go play it, i'm sure you enthusia fan-boys will want to fuck that game huh?
D1 Professional Drift Grand Prix Series is an awesome game in terms of physics for drifting nuts who have done it in real life already. It is difficult to drift in real life if you do not have experience.
GTR and rFactor both have massive issues within the tyre physics, in that the tyre curves aren't effected by slip, only load. This means you can have a tyre which drifts well or drives well, but not both. RBR is actually the best handling sim ever, and it works as well on the PS2 as it does on the PC (ok, with worse loading times/graphics...).
i think if drifting would really be soo easy in real life, as it is in live for speed, you could put any 12yr old in a car and he would start drifting... nope, if you played GT Legends, you would know what "realism" means! but don't get angry if you're still not able to drift after about 3 months of driving in GTL
I think Live for Speed gets the drifting physics right. I went from the game to real life and it transfered over well. I learned how to control the real car in a few laps.
Of course real life is the only way to really learn since games do not have a peripheral vision of the track, g-forces and the smell of burning rubber.
That simulation Live for Speed is amazing. The tires actually deforms according to g-forces. Pop a tire by burning out for 5 minutes and look at the physics of the broken deflated tire. Amazing!
yeah its an awsome one :) it simulates the driving almost perfectly. Even when we are talking about normal DRIVING not racing!!! only the gearshifts are too fast and the tires squeeke to early. and thats it... i cant find anymore bad parts...

Yeah, physics are the most important to me for realism too, but I was just noting ways in which LFS could be improved which the team is working on anyways. Sound and control is next of importance to me. Having tracks is essential to any racing game.
yeah. Tracks should be fun to drive on. They should have some tricky corners and chicanes, and in lfs all the tracks have what a track shoud. Well the sound aint that bad, but it doesnt give to feeling of how powerfull is the car ur driving.
polyphony released a gran turismo for bikes! its called- tourist trophy -go look it up. its got all the usual features of gran turismo, but on bikes. never played it but it looks rather good!
ive got it its a little different but its still good. and you can fall off and thats funny. those bikes are FASTTTTT!!!!! ive got a suzuki gsxr 1000 with 174 hp and it goes 206 mph

Umm, he is completely right. GT4 fails at life when it comes to modeling tires that are sliding. Period. The game is just wrong in that aspect, and the designers admitted they are addressing this issue in GT5.
Enthusia has better physics at lower to mid speeds, GT4 might win out at higher speeds because it makes cars at high speeds shakey as hell.

Hey i own GT4 and for racing is the best!! Enthusia looks great for drifting!! But, GT4 is simply the best for pure racing, it was designed for that, and not for drifting, that's why it sucks on some things compared to enthusia.
In GT4 the tires regain grip WAY too suddenly. It's also hard to make the tires lose grip, & braking works too quick. It's also difficult to brake-drift, like the tires ADAPT when you drift - pull the e-brake or feint & try to spin out on a straightaway, & not even a 180 before you spin back the other way. It's like the rear is attached to a rubber band.

I have used GT4 for some years now and I have recently bought Enthusia and tried it for some weeks now. I'd say the sound of wheels and engines is better in Enthusia but the way the tire looses grip and gets gripp is better in GT4. Drifting is too easy and too stable in Enthusia but I like really both GT4 and Enthusia. The colors are better in GT4 Enthusia looks a little bit washed out. The VGS display is really interesting I always keep an eye on it while racing.
It isn't the physics in GT4, its how the tire grips. In Gt4 you don't really need high Hp to drift, Try out stock cars on N2's. Its all feint, I also need to get use to Enthusia, I like that game because of the clutch and plus your tech for Gt4 is all wrong.
I OWN gt4 and the only way u can drift is by useing n1 n2 or n3 tyres but then u have to e brake every corner or u go staright i nto the wall so stfu gt4 is not perfect

Ryosuke, u just lied. u obviosuly dont own GT4. From what u said if ur not lying about having the game u must really suck, Thats exactly it. You have to counter steer around the whole damn turn. And u do not need to use the hand brake at all if u have the right setup. On all my cars I dont have to use the handbrake to drift. I also own Ethusia and Forza so u cant say nothing.
More I play and see Enthusia, more I know that GT4 sucks for drift. When you watch close, you can notice that GT4 don't have any oversteer and you need to use handbrake to make any drift.
And you must suck as you even know how an drift works. You can't make an countersteer in GT, because your car I'll lose control. You can only make drifts in GT without e-brake if you're making high speed drift. Drift never was an high speed technique and you, GT players, think that GT is always right. Go search about real drift and GT physics problem before talk shit.

That simulation Live for Speed is amazing. The tires actually deforms according to g-forces. Pop a tire by burning out for 5 minutes and look at the physics of the broken deflated tire. Amazing!

yeah its an awsome one :) it simulates the driving almost perfectly. Even when we are talking about normal DRIVING not racing!!! only the gearshifts are too fast and the tires squeeke to early. and thats it... i cant find anymore bad parts...

The sound needs to be improved too. GTR 2sounds a lot better than LFS now. The damage should be improved too with scratches.

some cars like m3 gtr sound realy great in gtr 2.Well the lfs sounds arent the best but if u have good speakers they aint that bad. I dont realy care about the damage. All that matter to me is: 1. Physics 2.Sound 3. Tracks

Yeah, physics are the most important to me for realism too, but I was just noting ways in which LFS could be improved which the team is working on anyways. Sound and control is next of importance to me. Having tracks is essential to any racing game.

yeah. Tracks should be fun to drive on. They should have some tricky corners and chicanes, and in lfs all the tracks have what a track shoud. Well the sound aint that bad, but it doesnt give to feeling of how powerfull is the car ur driving.

polyphony released a gran turismo for bikes! its called- tourist trophy -go look it up. its got all the usual features of gran turismo, but on bikes. never played it but it looks rather good!

ive got it its a little different but its still good. and you can fall off and thats funny. those bikes are FASTTTTT!!!!! ive got a suzuki gsxr 1000 with 174 hp and it goes 206 mph

The driving experience itself is more fun in Enthusia, in the end it's lacking though.
Very few tracks, fewer cars, no multiplayer via LAN, no widescreen support, uglier graphics.
But, even with those flaws, they got the simulation a lot better than PD did.
i enjoy both, but if i'm just going to be doing time attacks i'd much rather do them in EPR

Umm, he is completely right. GT4 fails at life when it comes to modeling tires that are sliding. Period. The game is just wrong in that aspect, and the designers admitted they are addressing this issue in GT5.
Enthusia has better physics at lower to mid speeds, GT4 might win out at higher speeds because it makes cars at high speeds shakey as hell.

the point isnt to drift, its about the real driving simulator and it comes down to the best physics, and that is what makes enthusia such a good game. if u want to race like a pro, realistically, then enthusia is the way to go.

And i agree with one comment below, buy a gt force feedbakc wheel designed by logitech for GT4 (there are two wheels, adn those wheels have 900o rotacion) and you'll se why gran turismo has been the most selling racing game of all times. try it and let me know bye

Hey i own GT4 and for racing is the best!! Enthusia looks great for drifting!! But, GT4 is simply the best for pure racing, it was designed for that, and not for drifting, that's why it sucks on some things compared to enthusia.

In GT4 the tires regain grip WAY too suddenly. It's also hard to make the tires lose grip, & braking works too quick. It's also difficult to brake-drift, like the tires ADAPT when you drift - pull the e-brake or feint & try to spin out on a straightaway, & not even a 180 before you spin back the other way. It's like the rear is attached to a rubber band.

:) all right, you're right. in that case, of course, no question about it! Even in my dad's sclass it is exhausting to get through traffic on a friday afternoon. But i keep my position for those lazy, sunny and warm sunday morngings when noone else is around :D ... 2 Tons in less than 8 seconds to a hundret (kmph) should be done at least once by everybody on earth ;)

I have used GT4 for some years now and I have recently bought Enthusia and tried it for some weeks now. I'd say the sound of wheels and engines is better in Enthusia but the way the tire looses grip and gets gripp is better in GT4. Drifting is too easy and too stable in Enthusia but I like really both GT4 and Enthusia. The colors are better in GT4 Enthusia looks a little bit washed out. The VGS display is really interesting I always keep an eye on it while racing.

It isn't the physics in GT4, its how the tire grips. In Gt4 you don't really need high Hp to drift, Try out stock cars on N2's. Its all feint, I also need to get use to Enthusia, I like that game because of the clutch and plus your tech for Gt4 is all wrong.

I OWN gt4 and the only way u can drift is by useing n1 n2 or n3 tyres but then u have to e brake every corner or u go staright i nto the wall so stfu gt4 is not perfect

Gt4 physics suck compared to Enthusia.I can't go back to gt4 after playing enthusia.You got a clutch to initiate a drift which you dont't have in GT4 and you also get a proper handbrake.Try it!Enthusia rocks

Ryosuke, u just lied. u obviosuly dont own GT4. From what u said if ur not lying about having the game u must really suck, Thats exactly it. You have to counter steer around the whole damn turn. And u do not need to use the hand brake at all if u have the right setup. On all my cars I dont have to use the handbrake to drift. I also own Ethusia and Forza so u cant say nothing.

More I play and see Enthusia, more I know that GT4 sucks for drift. When you watch close, you can notice that GT4 don't have any oversteer and you need to use handbrake to make any drift.

And you must suck as you even know how an drift works. You can't make an countersteer in GT, because your car I'll lose control. You can only make drifts in GT without e-brake if you're making high speed drift. Drift never was an high speed technique and you, GT players, think that GT is always right. Go search about real drift and GT physics problem before talk shit.
