  • where do I get the orchestra music for this piece?

  • Is there anyone out there that can say that violin is the; MILLION $ + Strad that is on loan to her from Itzhak Perlman ?

    (We're not done yet.)

    Itzhak Perlman

  • one of the most amazing performances I have ever heard.

  • besides for the fact that she looks so stiff all the time. her playing sounds beautiful...

  • Oh god, the right hand is annoying the balls out of me. It has to be fluid, not stiff like it is. Watch her videos now (she's over 30s years old today), she corrected this. She's using way too much forearm work that she needs to. A lot of the sound actually should come from the wrist and thumb/first finger.

  • @OurenV2 her hand is not stiff.

  • WITH A LITTLE PRACTICE, SOME SPEED, AND A FEW STEROIDS, ANYBODY CAN PLAY LIKE THAT - EVEN BETTER!

    :^o

    ROFL!

YOU GO YOUNG LADY, NOT ONLY WAS THAT BEAUTIFUL, BUT SEEMINGLY HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE! BRAVO - THABKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!

  • Now this is GENIUS!

  • I love the powerful and amazing sound of her violin: pure energy and feeling.

  • What a feeling, in the music and in the young violinist! I always loved this pice

  • que dire ? ...

  • wow

  • what a boss

  • After watching such a miracle such as this, how can anyone honestly say that there is no God, that he did not have a hand in this genius performance!! Open your eyes and behold his blessing to us in this talent! :]

  • She is awesome. She plays so hard and aggressive. With every note she says: "HERE I AM AND YOU ARE NOTHING !!! " I love her style :-)

  • @violinspieler haha, that's a nice way to put it.

  • YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • she makes me nervous.

  • This is my favourite interpretation of this peice. Maybe I'm just in love with her, but it looks so damn perfect <3

  • Awesome!! xx

  • this is addictive

  • well done. I'll have to follow her and see what she's doing currently.

  • well done. I'll have to follow her and see what she's doing currently.

  • O.O you are my idol

  • Chill out about her tempo. It's her own way to play. Just because most pople play it slow, doesn't mean it's right. She has a very close contect to the music in my opinion

  • Oh come on, 4 stars? She's 13, she is not afraid of performing in public and the peice is very complicated. She got everything right. I don't think counting imperfections is professional. Just look at her. She's a miracle <3

  • She really plants herself on the stage. She has tremendous strength and concentration, and of course her technique is phenomenal.

  • :O

  • I've been watching some child prodigy violinists on youtube this evening, and most of them are technically very good, but few of them seem to grasp the feel of the music in the right manner at such a young age. Leila sure does very well.

  • Bravo...

  • this girl plays it nearest way as i wish to hear this pativular preludium and allegro...

  • this gave me goosebumps!!!! bravo!! u r brilliant !!

  • rediculous!herdoublestops were mean !

  • Hands down....

  • OMG...she's amazing. Like a little machine. It's almost as if they are speeding up the video in parts...almost superhuman bow technique....

  • Really technical, It seems as though she's rushing tho. Regardless she's 13, and she kills is

  • Just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the introducer is correct - technique and interpretive skills far exceed her yrs she plays brillaintly here. i love her power and passion and this has only improved w the succeeding yrs

  • wow, she really wrecks thru it! great (:

  • i think its too fast, i can't understand what she plays in many moments..but technical its very good)

  • @LieElis

    Listen Faster!

  • You play so fast!

  • i love this! she is amazing

  • Hilary Hahn is still my favorite, but this person has got something special as well

  • its too bad that so many years later, she still plays the same way

  • @gnatural why is it bad - that she still has fire and style and great skill

  • 5 stars again ! About the conductor, is he really mr.John Williams, the Steven Spielberg's

    films music composer ?

  • I'm so amazed that of so powerful and dynamic performance of this piece. Absolutely one of the best.

I've nerver heard of the interpretation like this. I wish I could play like her...

  • I have watched quite a few of the recommended other versions of this piece and still think this is the best. It astounds me that anyone can find fault in any way with this. If you play violin you will never be this good so get over it.

  • I'd never heard this piece of music before. I'm very pleased that Leila was my introduction to it. That was an astounding performance.

  • If you liked it, you can also watch Ida Haendel's Praeludium und Allegro - she is also amazing :)

  • Smokin' !

  • the conductor is j. williams.

  • This reminds me the Szeryng recording, I love both interpretations equaly.

Ps: The central part of the prelude is missing xd

  • awesome......!!!!

  • Old soul !!!!

  • heifetz transformist

  • hija de su ...%@#%

    que envidia!!!

  • This is the ultimate YouTube video!

  • A reincarnation of Heifetz even in the way she plays. Eyes riveted on the fingerboard and the bow technique too. Looks like the hand of Heifetz playing, You can check this on old Heifetz film

  • Im amazed

  • WAY too fast in my opinion. Her playing is solid no doubt, but there's so many beautiful harmonies in this piece that beg to be milked (for lack of a better word).

  • Wow she played it so well!!!

But I think her interpretation was a bit hard for the orchestra to follow, although it was a very good interpretation

  • wow that was really REALLY good.

I dont get all the people critisising her. Her interpretation was so much better than for instance Friedman's. Although I feel that this would sound even better with piano rather than orchestra.

  • wow........

  • 2:54 Guitar shredders weep

  • At the start everything's a bit sharp mostly her E string

  • I am sure it's the sound in clip that's off. It's an old clip. Ms. Josephowicz' tone is generally rock solid.

  • We fiddlers lots of times tune a hair sharp

so that the constant pressure on the strings

doesn't draw them too flat in the course of

    the playing.

  • @robotnik77 Do we? o.0

  • @MultiFormula1

I don't understand how you could listen to a13 year old give a performance like that, then turn around and instantly critisize. I don't know you personally, but I'd bet money that you can't do anything as well as she plays this piece, at 13 or any age.

  • I think this clip is amazing. I have heard many young violinists and would be prodigies both live and on Youtube. In my opinion this performance ranks with anything I have ever seen or heard. Her raw emotion is quite moving and genuine. Moreover, the fact that she can communicate all of that emotion and stay in perfect tune throughout elevates this performance to exquisite! Bravo!

  • uwielbiam sposób w jaki ona to gra ;D

chociaż widze też różne niedociągnięcia techniczne ;p

  • Is that John Williams?

  • Yes.

  • First time I've heard this famous piece in an orchestral arrangement.

  • wow you're right ive never noticed it hahaha :) but she plays so awesome!

  • she's more prettier THEN than NOW.

  • Who is the conductor? John Williams, the composer of E.T. and star wars's scores?

    Fantastic!

  • what a powerful sound

  • How do her notes come so crystal clear. She has a terribly strong bow hold with the index finger practically choking the bow...

  • hoooly shiaaaaat,

    she's hellaaa good.

  • Certified Intergalactic!

  • it was a bit more rushed at the beginning but i think she did pretty well =)

  • So aggressive. :P

A little fast on some parts.

  • she's so aggressive! whoa

  • that's how i like 'em ;)

  • shes a pro now- just saw her perform the bruch concerto w/the minnesota orchestra at orchestra hall a few days ago, wOw i had no idea her talent started at such a young age o.O ...but thats to be expected :)

  • Yes, she's supposedly is amazing. I just have to say that I definitely do not enjoy her performance of the Bruch. It is too aggressive. And she said she treated it as a 21st century piece... ew. And she said she never listens to other violinist's inerpretations... :P which is kind of conceited and ridiculous.

  • ...i feel kind of bad about posting something mean on here, so i deleted my comment. i just wish folks would lighten up. it also pisses me off when youtubers comment on concert violinists or prodigies when it's very doubtful they possess the tact or talent on the violin. i understand that much. to my credit, all i said is she looks like the bionic wonder swiveling around like that. if anything i DO think the video might be flawed, but the sound is fine. and no, i cannot play the violin like her

  • it think she went a little fast for the song.......but the others are good

    great job

    4 stars

  • I played this when I was 11. Dang I sounded like crap compared to this chick

  • this piece is sped up...digitally or something. it looks funny as hell...like that eighties sitcom about the robot girl

  • screw you man just because you probably suck at this piece that doesn't mean other pople who is better than you is all fake you know. This is perfectly nothing wrong ok???!!!

  • Comment removed

  • She speeds up too much at 3:01.

There needs to be more clarity. But HEY this was almost 20 years ago

  • outstanding! 5 stars here

  • exactly!!!

  • Me at 13: OMG! High school!

  • Understood. But look at Kitsho's play of Kreisler's Praeludium and Allegro. He looks much younger and played better.

  • Incredible. She turned a usually very boring student piece into a masterwork. Brilliant! A+

  • Good performance but at the beginning she skips a big part and this is way too fast!

    Her intonation is good though!

    4 stars.

  • wow..she plays the piece with such maturity..it is quite amazing

  • awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • *Tibetupsidedown, it's not sped up. This is the tempo of the song.

    very well played! loved it!!

  • I think this might have been sped-up.

    That's just me.

  • 5 Star !!!!

    Serena

  • This is what I personnally call An Artist

  • Beautiful, you play so energetic!

  • 3:00

    omg

  • extreme..

  • san demonismeno kanei !

  • Her violin sounds like a beautiful dramatic soprano! :-)

  • Awesome! Incredible!

  • This is surely nt 13, so tall?? lyk yao ming?

  • Wow, really amazing for her age, no question about that! However, I feel that her style of playing is a bit "heavy": maybe too dominated by forceful and dramatic emotions. She could hold back a bit in some parts and be "lighter". I know this is a dramatic piece, but I heard the same in other pieces she plays.

  • I love Leila!

  • Love the interpretation. She's brill.

  • This reminds me of Michael Rabin when he was a young man performing!

  • ahh i wanna abe her!

  • Amazing!

    Her interpretation is so beautiful!

  • wow this is great

you think she meant to play really fast at the beginning or was she just nervous?

  • Gets me teary-eyed. This piece can make you cry. It was my dream to play this when I was young, but I couldn't finish going through the piece. Thanks!

  • 3:00... my god...:O

  • simply great!

  • What a talent God has given us!!! A genius. Thank you for posting this. Heifetz, Kogan, Gitlis, Hahn, and now Josefowicz. Truly beyond words....

  • Nossaaaaa...santo Deus!

    Que talentooo

Não sei nem o que dizer...sem palavras

    MARAVILHOSOOOOOO

    Grandioso

    PARABÉNSSSS
