  • breathtaking!

  • Dude, their primitive recording technology couldn't keep up with the mad mouth movements of this scattin' fool! Not enough frames for that hep cat's jive.

  • @cyclonefury27 Has nothing to do with "primitive recording". This was actually "voiced over".

  • What a swing and rhytm...

  • fantastico!

  • that guitar was pretty badass too

  • Well, folks . . . I want hair that flys and flays like Cab Calloway's in Olden Days!!!

    Copyright 2011 G.L.I.

Wonder how much Cab paid for those "CONK" treatments???

    Gary in Arizona

  • oh wow, that end is amazing!

  • This isn't long enough....

  • This is the best, simply amazing!

  • God that guy's amazing.

  • Haha, I wonder how many times Cab had to comb his hair back during a performance?! Ah, he was the best, man...

  • Speed Metal maybe... Speed Swing, YES!!!!

  • who played the guitar solo

  • @wizzard1956 Pretty much all artists draw influence from the great blues and jazz men from the good ole days. in fact Big Boi from outkast uses lines right from Cabs songs in his.

Cab had so much soul and passion in his music, so pretty much all artists today draw from him. Knowingly or not.

  • I'm guessing that was Wayman Carver on flute.

  • What a great band.

  • What is that voice....Thats all there is, there isnt any more.

I heard it on an another old song, cant remember where tho

  • The first of the headbangers

  • Cab Calloway was unbelievable

  • There are few people that can bring so much energy to music.

  • He's so good at scatting the video goes out of synch when he scats then reverts back to in synch when he finishes scatting.

  • Cab was very attractive back in the day!

  • That is entertaining stuff. Loved the ending made me laugh out loud.

Still touching people's hearts from the grave. Who could ask for a better life.

  • Excellent video!! My Dad was friends with Cab Calloway.

  • @LakesideArt Your dad was a lucky man, Lakeside. Can't think of a more exciting, talented friend than Cab Calloway!

  • Oh wow, and I thought jazz flute was a '70s thing. This is awesome.

  • I always thought jazz flute was just an anchorman thing

  • This cat can skat

  • @HillLuvNaru999 Amen!

  • I wonder how many superstars got thier inspiration from cab including mj

  • This is actually from 1937! It's from the 1937 short called "Hi-De-Ho", not to be confused with the 1934 short called "Cab Calloway's Hi-De-Ho"! :)

  • Thank you - I have amended the title.

  • and the reason; the children aren't introduced to music and any arts at young ages these days. growing up and watching and also hearing locally, music all kinds, from jazz, country, soul, blues, rock ,roll, and i enjoy them all,but to even think about finding enjoyabe entertainment is hard at these times i love the art of instrument painting the picture,CAB was a musical MONSTER and those BAND MEMBERS wow HIS BAND gotta see the video for( some of these days) WOW WOW WOW

  • and to think ;what concert goers receive today, amazing how they really appreciated not just sounds but music to accompany LOVE IT,some caught the groove, cab had that GIFT his entire ensemble had the talent.....

  • AWSOME!!!!!!
