  • gotta love the straight 6, Torque monster! got one in my 84 f250

  • if its a ford y that nasty ass shitvy red on it :(

  • Love the engine, I'm building a Chevy 250 with either triple Weber DCOE or Dellorto DHLA carbs. What kind of air cleaners are those? They look vintage and I'd like to use those or something similar on mine!

  • Thats a great buy 50 shotrod! People dont understand the idea of low weight takes less HP to go fast do they? Let alone "weight class" atvantages.. I was thinking of an altered on Meth/nitro to show all the newbies what can happen,,,but they still spend money for V8s..Clifford even makes a few less I-6 stuff

  • I've got a ford 300 I'm doing a rebuild on and have been looking around for a trip duce set up similar to what you have on that engine, where could one get something like that? if you could hook me up that would be awesome!

    Thanks

  • do you always run your engines for 30 minutes without a water pump spinning or coolant in the engine?

  • ill give you 30$ for this engine.

seeing as its already been over heated

  • Titles mean nothing to me, and BTW, my buddy & I are both Land Speed Racers and have probably gone faster in this junk than you could ever dream of...sounds like you still need to learn a few things about pure physics and common sense, but unfortunately I am already raising a child...maybe you should talk to Joe The Plumber...he knows all about hydro-technology, right???

  • @50shotrods yaa thats definety a land seed type engine im a 1\4 miler i do prefer v-8 but i do undertstand how this would be better for all out speed i used to know a few of u guys us 1\4 milers realy cant say much to u guys u go fast realy fast all we do is go fast fast love the build reminds me of a 40s- or 50s build love it man =3-

  • JoeDrummer2010 "Think of how long it takes your temp gauge......" Yeah, but thats WITH WATER circulating through it!! Obviously you paid for the work and didn't do it yourself. That's juuussst about ruined or atleast damaged. JUNK* B.T.W.~ I am ASE certified gas & diesel. To run it for about 30 seconds = no problemo.....Over 2 minutes= you've got more money than common sense. Lets hope you and your money part ways to someone a little slicker than you seem to be......

  • You forgot to put the belt on the water pump!! now you will have local hot spots and distortion on your cylinders. I'm not buying that thing now...

  • in this engine i see the vacuum advance line off the distributor, is it set up for running mechanical points ignition or electronic ignition?

  • This one is currently for sale for 4K asking price...contact me and you can own this one! My phone # is (408) 624-7856 and EMAIL is: btruesdel@aol.com I'm located in Northern California---hope to hear from you soon----------------Ciao, Bob T.

  • how much would an engine like that go for if i had you guys make me one?

  • Actually, I have a little more than that in it, then there's my time...LOL Thanks for the Reply! Ciao, Bob T.

  • @50shotrods nice motor very nice. how much did it go for when it did sell if u dont mind me askin?

  • I would like to know if you would make another set of exhausts and carbs like this to fit the same exact engine and sell those with all the data I need to install. I have a 6cyl just like this from an 84 going into my 76 and was planning on upgradeing to a V8 until I saw this, I love the look and love the power. Can you respond to me with an email to discuss?

  • what intake is that ive looked everywhere!

  • thats sweeet

  • BEAUTIFUL! But WHY would you run it THAT LONG with NO COOLANT?

  • @joedrummer2010 think of how long it takes your mechanical temp guage in your car to start moving & you will find it's about 5 min. or so...we ran this one for about 2-1/2 min....it's cool...if it was a problem, we wouldn't have done it!

  • @50shotrods also you can run a 300 6 without oil for MILES before it even starts knocking... toughest fuckin motor ive ever had

  • @50shotrods That's because there's cold water running through the engine so it stays cool.

  • @50shotrods you do realize it take less than 30 seconds for a car to over heat with no coolant?

  • Now THIS is the kind of engine I plan on putting in my 1979 E-350. Probably back it with a C6 as well...

  • beautiful, love that engine!

  • What can a person say after seeing that....sweet!

  • What intake and carbs are you running? AWESOME! I just decided what motor I'm gonna run in my '29 Modified! Thanks for posting.

  • hey hows it going! thats a beautiful engine you have there. i was wondering i have a 1970 ford maverick with a 250ci straight six is there a way i can install the same application you have on this engine on my car?? and if so about how much does it cost?? thanks cheers!

  • @CORPORATELECTROO This is a 1970 motor, so it would bolt right in...I suggest getting rid of the 250 and buying this one, cuz it's available and everything's done for you already...we're asking $3500.00 for it, with $1800.00 worth of Webers, a factory rebuild and custom exhaust/manifold, intake and one-off valve cover and zero hours, this one's the DEAL OF THE CENTURY. If interested, please call Bob @ (408) 624-7856 or email me @ btruesdel@aol.com. Ciao, Bob T.

  • @50shotrods gee sounds extremely tempting! but i actually want the experience of building something this beautiful :) it sure is the deal of the century tho! :) if i hadnt spent so much money on my engine yet i would sure have bought it! once again thanks again!

ps: the price you gave me, is that about how much you spent on the engine? thanks

  • sometimes progress is actually a step backwards I 'll take a six over a v8 anytime

  • That's sick, I've always been a huge supporter/fan/owner of the straight six

  • How much compression is this motor making? I love seeing these engines in econo-rails! They sound different, but keep up with the bigger-boys time-wise.

  • as a lover and an owner of a IL6..this is just sick!

  • Detroit Iron!!

  • hope the garage door was open.

  • Nice engine do not see those often these days. Sound great how did you mount the gauge just screw it in where line would go?

  • Funny how the crank pulley is not even turning and the engine has no shudder when revved up, I can't believe how many of you can't see the obvious. Complete B.S.!!!

  • @T70MUR that is not the crank pulley, it's the water pump, which is not connected and never is on an engine stand setup. the crank IS moving, and the six doesn't vibrate like a v-8 because it is an inline.

  • @T70MUR - yep, I thought the same thing, until I realized that the water pump operates via the belt pulled, and is not driven by the rotary parts (crank, cam) inside the engine. The crankshaft is, fairly obviously, turning - therefore the engine is running.

  • @T70MUR If you look at 0:25 when the motor revs you can see the engine tilt just a hair.

  • sweet old iron !!!

  • stuff this in a TUG

  • nice motor like that running with no water pump, no rad, if it had water in it it would be boilin out the cylinder head opening,,,yeh sure I'll buy it,,,NOTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! prolly half fried when it gets sold ,,IF some sucker buys it

  • @callmenort It take longer then you think to overheat a engine.

  • I was thinking in the future of building a sleeper out of a 1980s Ford crown vic, put a Hot 300 6 in it with a turbo, maybe Twin turbos, then put a harmless looking quiet exhaust with a dump valve on it to get better flow when you need it. It would be so awesome, people would think you would be driving just a crappy old crown vic, then you rocket out of the intersection!

  • @NathansBackwoods Your thinking is most probably just a dream and a reason to take up space on YouTube. The only time this fantasy exists is in between your nightly wet dreams. Hence the "rocket out of the intersection" reference. Come on man get a life.

  • @lp32862, Wow, really, do you have to be such a prick? I just like ford 300 six motors, i dont know why you have to be such an asshole. I have a fine life, i have fun with it and do what i want to do, why dont you get one and leave me alone.

  • @lp32862 He just shared his idea. If all you have to do is leave nasty-ass comments for people not asking for it, you need to grow up and find something better to do!

  • *GAY*

what a FROD. The video is of a cold, not running engine on a stand. The audio was dubbed in from some other video. This asshole thinks he's fuckin' slick. And to think it's to represent the item for sale.... he even shook the wires and everything at the throttle snaps.... but the god damned pulleys arent even turning, and theres no water in the engine

  • @chabbalato look at the crank pulley it is spinning normal?

  • Thats whats up if i get the cash i would buy it .

  • Could you put this in a 1966 Mustang Coupe?

  • where do i get a three carb and dual exhaughst manifold from, and how much will i t cost me? ive got an 85 jeep cj7 and a 76 dodge adventurer, both have straight 6 engines, i would like both to have a set up like this so can u help?

  • i dunno its good to be running it that long without cooling?

  • Exact same motor in my truck except it doesn't look as pretty and damn it sounds good with a glasspack!

  • All Ford Straight six's 170,200,240,250,300 Are the best inlines and are built like a tank. Almost indestructable.

  • will ya look at that. i have a 300 in my 78 f250 4x4. it has a 4 barrel headers and a few other things. not quite as nice as what you have but it pushes my heavy ass truck with 3.50 gears and 35" tire real good.

  • nice engine, im rebuilding a 69 300 for my 72. i had a choice of a 302 and a 351, but with the gas prices, i know i couldn't use it as a daily driver. 300 you get fuel economy and power. ive beaten v-8's with a turbo mazda 4-cyl before so it doesn't matter what you have, its the driver!

  • @trickflow626 how many 300 sixes have you had? they get worse mileage than most 302 v8's and the horsepower isn't there...torque is indomidable though...

  • I bet it would work well in an early 66-77 Ford Bronco

  • Comment removed

  • @Taino187

Wow you must have X-Ray vision to see the "camshaft pulley" on this engine. You are the one that's "stupid" The crank pulley is spinning and you don't need all the other crap to run an engine.

  • i love straight sixes. and this motor is just bad ass. i bet its a torque monster. IMO i would've went with the look of velocity stacks.

  • It wasn't even running. Just look at the crankshaft and harmonic balancer. Ohh, and next time, install the radiator.

  • @The66StangMan

The balancer IS in fact spinning, The water pump pulley is not, The oil pressure gauge on the side of the block is showing STRONG oil pressure, The plug wires vibrate under acceleration. Yup....that there engine is a runnin!!

  • Nice!! I had a 77 F-100 with the 300-6 in it. The most dependable motor I've ever driven.

  • I hope there was some sort of coolant in the block, or itll probly be toasted, even a indestructable 300-6. With no water pump hooked up and no coolant hoses it looks bad

  • Sweet Sweet Sweet love them bulletproof lil buggers.

  • Awesome insane. That Hemi in the background at the end of the video was pretty nuts too.

I like how you did away with the mechanical fuel pump and threw a breather over the hole. Very clean looking, The location of the aftermarket coil is pretty clever too. What I like most is the attention to detail. Everything on that motor is clean, and it looks as though nothing has been overlooked. Excellent build. One question though, is that an Offy triple carb manifold or was it custom made?

  • Can this engine be put in a '84 Country Squire?

  • I don't know if it would be a direct bolt-in, but it would depend on your abilities...for instance, if that year came with a 6-cyl similar to this, then you need the correct mounts for the motor, or you could make your own. Wilcap makes many adapters for the transmission combo you desire, so you're pretty well covered on that one...this particular motor has a custom-built 3-speed with a Jeep top plate which puts the stick on the floor, but it can also be an automatic...

  • i have a 67 300 and the mechanics around are telling me i cant get performance parts for mine is that true they say only thing i can grealy do is bigger cam and flat top pistons

  • @4xmurphx4 They are wrong. Though these moters are not popular with people who do performance there is a few companys who do have parts to make them as nice as a small v-8. Check out Clifford Performance All they do is inline 6 moters. Ford Chevy and Jeep.

  • @50shotrods can it fit a 1982 ford 150 ???

  • @laclepabon I believe it will bolt right in your 82 Ford truck with very few mods. We are asking $3,500.00 for the motor and it's well worth it...it has a custom-made intake manifold, exhaust manifold and headers and it has about $1,800.00 worth of Weber carbs on it. The motor has ZERO miles on it, with a total run-time of about an hour. It's a real beauty that would make your truck very dependable...what kind of transmission are you running??? Thanks, Bob T.

  • @CDEFoxtrot yes yes !!!! I have a 1982 Country squire and I want ot do the same thing! I hear that it fits just fine.

  • nice

  • That set up is sick..wish I had that on my 300!..damn

  • It's all good it didn't run that long. at like 1:10 or so you can see a temp gauge on side of block. It's good to let them run and heat up the gaskets and seals to break them in.

  • thats an oil pressure gauge. thats where the sender goes when you hook it up to your dashboard gauges

  • I want one for my Mustang!

  • at 40-50 seconds you can see the tank for coolant on the floor, What yah think they built this & didn't know what they were doing

  • Actually, the tank looks like a 2-3 gallon container full of gasoline. And considering there are no hoses on the inlet to the water pump, the outlet on the T-stat housing, a radiator, or even a belt running the water pump, I am 99.9% sure they are running the engine with out coolant. Which is OK considering the short amount of time it ran (at least in the video).

  • Lol thats gasoline, not coolant. You can clearly see there is not radiator hoses, or even a belt turning the water pump.

  • not exactly good to be runnin it without coolant is it???

  • les six cylindres en ligne sont de bon moteur mais ca depend de l aplication que vous en faite pas de high rpm a moin d avoir de la vaisselle de performance

  • The 300 six is a great engine.

  • where did you get that valve cover? Its awesome! Im building a 300 6 and that would be perfect on it.

  • SOUNDS AWESOME!!! ...sick ,love a straight six

  • If I ever had a rod, it's have an inline 6 in it. :)

  • the 22r and the 300 C.I.6-CYL is the most reliable engines

  • Amen, brotha!

  • Great working truck motor!

  • How much hp does it have and how much can you get from 1 big 4brl?

  • Not much. These engines are built for torque, not HP.

It may only make 250HP, but the torque it produces will pull Mount Rushmore off it's foundation.

  • @TestECull stock they had 150 HP and 280 ft/lb of torque

  • @TestECull stock was around 180 but 265ft lbs at 1600 rpm... yeah :P

  • @TestECull I didn't know Mt. Rushmore sat on a foundation....... LOL

  • Comment removed

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

    can i have it?

  • One of the Best Engines ever built!

  • haha everyon thinks its not running it is the top pulley if for the water pump it doesnt have to be turniong for it to be running it has not water supply hooked up its running man, crank pully damn sure is turning

  • i bet it was a bitch gettin all those carbs workin the same way and tunin them lol

  • hollyships!!!this f@kr works in Wonderland lol.thats a dream job. con grat....

  • I think you are man! Theres no belt hooked up, hence the TOP pulley will not turn... Look closely at the crank pulley, it is moving.

  • just asked a real simple question

  • thats not an air cooled motor, wheres the pump hose or radiator

  • Your thinking of liquid, radiators hold coolant, a liquid making a radiator part of a liquid cooled system

  • Can anything be done to my '95 300-6 for more power? Besides a K&N air filter

  • Um cam change, free flowing exhaust eprom chip your ecu if able, or replace with after market fuel injection kit/carb kit. port n polish/blue print the block, get everything proffessionaly balanced.

  • ummmmm are you serious?

  • Can I get mine without the optional dented oil filter? lol

  • should it be idleing that high?

  • im gettin a f100 with a 300 (4.9) 6 banger in er. it might need to be replaced...im not to sure. idk if imma stick with it or go up to a 302. its a 74 with a 3 speed on the column. i gots a question though, more or less need opinions. should i go with dynomas race bullets, thrush glasspacks, or some sort of flowmaster set up as far as muffler goes.....and rememer, in NY i dont need a catalytic and it doenst get emmisions tested cuz of its age

  • how much torque do you think it has

  • shoot i couldnt tell ya man. it was one of his first farm trucks...hasnt been ran in two years. i gotta put in a new clutch, new suspension, possibly overhaul the body and just take the oringinal frame out from it and put it on a new frame....it needs a lot of work....ive always wanted it so itll be my 2 yr project, in the mean time i drive a saturn sl2, woot woot!! 125 hp baby!!! :D

  • stock they're rated for 340 ftp.

  • stock the 300-I6 had around 250 ft lbs. look it up

  • Freaking cool,how much torque?I bet around 400ft-lbs.

  • no radiator hooked up? sounds like its about to rattle apart.

  • get an old muffler hollow it out slide it on ur pipe weld it up and there u go and if it dont have a cat on it that would jus make it stright pipe.

  • dude....if u gt no emissions run a straight 3 inch pipe....s how we do it in tx!!!!

  • amen

  • very cool

  • 300 six. Ford awsomest engine! I have a TBI inline six in my 95 f-150 and it rock the whole truch back and forth when ya rev it! YEE Haa!!!

  • you know its a smooth running engine, when you cant tell if its even running at all in a video.

  • That engine is definately running.

  • For anyone's info: I used to race a PMD OHC Pontiac 6. Although a little spendy to modify, it did very well in the 1/8th.

  • How would that thing fit in an early Falcon? Who says a big block needs to have 8 cylinders?

  • how much for the entire motor?

  • we're solid on $4500.00 like it is...it has about 2K worth of webers on it, brand new/rebuilt motor and homemade valve cover, intake, exhaust, headers...

  • has anyone else noticed that the damn motor is NOT RUNNING? pretty good sound que though

  • It's running, you can see the damper nut blurring as it spins. There's no water pump belt, so the water pump won't be turning.

  • You can also see the engine torque twist when dude blips the throttle. Definitely something you can't replicate in Windows Movie Maker...hell Hollywood screws that up all the time.

  • llook at the temp gauge on the side of the block and then the damper on the front spining and why wouldnt it be running its in running condition

  • that's an oil pressure guage on the side of the block to show you it gets 80 lbs. oil pressure...new motor

  • @fordboy111591 what a cock head, its oil pressure.

  • Ahh, such a beautiful purr.

  • awsome build I Have a 93 F 150 with the 4.9 L 300 does anyone have any ideas to crank out some more ponies i was thinking about a new cam but i really dont know. anything would be great thanks

  • Your 300 and the classic 300 used in hotrods and such are pretty similier. Ford has been using the 300 straight 6 in some shape or form for about 100 years now. its not used in america anymore, but im pretty sure its still around in australia. Not positive.

  • Your 300 is internally identical to the one in this video. All those parts will bolt right up to it. The pickup's ECU might be upset tho.

  • were did you get thoughs header, and that 3 single barrel manifold? and how much?

  • Those are 3 two barrel side drafts, like on Datsun I6's...

    3 "40MM carbs = @ 1040 CFM, using Holley's rating method.

AND, considered "too small" by Mikuni's displacement/carb selection equation.

  • I sounds very nice, but I like V8s (my personal problem!), and I see you have some hemis and a flathead there. Anyway, this six is fantastic. Congratulations

  • i own a 93 f150 with the big 300 6 with 170000 on it, and i get around 18 to 19 ont the highway if the weather is right, keep in mind tho its a reg cab short box two wheel drive.

  • I want to build one I love the old 300 what kind of power does one make with that carb set up

  • uhhh running it without coolant? way to warp the heads, no way i'd buy that

  • That motor isn't running at high temp to warp, especially for under 2 minutes. Give the guy some props, no ones asking you to buy shit.

  • dude that sounds SICK. haha i wish my 300 6 sounded like that lol

  • Ha 250 hp wait till mine is done ill be lookin at 350-400 hp. but thats not to bad. :)

  • 250 HP but its pushing 222 pounds of torque at only 1500 RPM on the F150's. horse power isn't everything in cars and certainly not in trucks.

  • I got 458K miles out of my 300cu 6 banger. I sold it still ran

  • wow that is an amazing engine. nothing else sounds like a hot inline 6 at full roar. thanks for posting this.

    -Tim

  • whats the hp and torque?

  • H.P. is about 225-250, but don't know torque...would estimate it at 300 ft. lbs.??? These are torquey motors to begin with...

  • wow, thats pretty good!!! that engine would go good with an old falcon.

  • I've always been fascinated with high performance 300 I6's. I had one 20 years ago in a F150. I'm thinking of putting one in my 72 F100 for gas milage purposes. Does it get better economy than V8's? Can it out run a V8? It sure sounds like a V8 though.

  • From what i heard, they are not the best on fuel economy. Depending on what current motor you have in your ford, you might wanna keep that if you are aiming for fuel ecomony. These 300 6 cylinders can make horsepower, you just gotta find the parts for them and will be willing to consume time if you want to make it look all flashy and such.

  • Water, Water !!!!! Please, Fill Water !!!!!

  • that motor would look good under the hood of my 95 f-150!!!!

  • That right there, that's nice.

  • I have a 86 ford with a 300 straight in line 6 we have had some issues with it and not sure whats going on with it is there someone who knows this motor who may be able to help?

  • beatyfull damn she´s hot,i love these old sixpacks,sound like v8s

  • Can you tell me a little about the intake manifold?

  • Inlet manifold on this one is custom and looks to be 3 seperate manifolds

  • small block chevy can run almost 2 hours with no water. at least thats what they say.

  • I got an idea.... Why dont you try it and get back to us.

  • thats what chevy says not me.

  • What kind of power does it make?

  • Hey, Don't know what kind of power it makes, as it hasn't been dyno'ed, but being brand new with Webers, headers and an intake & exhaust that work well, I imagine it's probably in the 225-250 h.p. range???

  • Ok,the engine that's in my uncles Ford Econoline, which is on one of my videos, only generates about 120 hp. But it only has a single exhaust manifold (which was typical for their six cylinders of that time), a single barrel carberator, a larger cam, and a better exhaust.

  • Nice looking build, but I've got to tell you, you ran that thing WAY too long with the belt off the WP. You're looking at some pretty serious damage.
