I didnt like the joke tha leno made about "so many americans living in their cars now adays" I think that was very very stupid and cold of him to joke about that.
I have been thinking that muscle cars should head in this direction for many years. Then again, I don't really care if the "muscle car culture" dies. I see this car as the less tough looking and sounding guy that outwits and kicks the big stupid brute's ass. I'm all for that, but maybe because I'm a college boy that enjoys driving and not someone that likes drag racing (pissing contests)...
425 is kinda low but u gotta remember its a "prototype" not a performance company build, fully built lower end, upgraded turbo's, ecu, injectors id say 600 - 700hp no prob on the alum. block
I guess I'm scared of "change" but if muscle cars move to V6's like Leno says, I'm afraid the muscle car culture will die. I can't see myself getting excited over a TT V6 when I could have gotten a V8.
this thing won't be any more economical in practice, by numbers sure... but boost is addictive, it's a drug, and when you're using it, you can watch the fuel economy drop to 4-5 mpg or less. ... still can't wait to see one of these on the streets
yes it is addictive you will see mpg gallon if you have a heavy foot, but turbos actually give the motor better gas mileage since it uses the exaust to get more boost giving the car more horespower making the car seem lighter for the motor which in turn gives more gas mileage... if you want to save gas dont puch it or just use less boost.
can you point me to one owner of a turbcharged performance car that gets over 30 mpg average??? my mazdaspeed IS capable of it... but I'll never see that number. also, at least with my engine, it's very hard to not use all the boost, when it hits, it hits full on... so again, I think "in practice" it's not going to turn better numbers. ... maybe I'm just an addict lol
Twin Turbo V8 sounds better. With lighter wheels and body panels of course...Carbon Fiber panels!

@ShenFromTerraTraba The whole point to muscle cars is to have the big V8 in them.

Too bad GM won't build it. Might even cost more than the LS3 SS model.
