This clip is taken from the 1st part of the lectures, the 300 million year war.
What you might not know is later in the episode, they x-ray a blade of grass for silicon (it has quite a bit!). That scene had to be reshot 3 times. The first time the laptop connected to the portable x-ray wasnt turned on. cameras rolling, it took 7 minutes to boot up, and being a vista laptop, it crashed and had to reboot again.
Professor Sue Hartley had an assistant with her, who after the take was finised, managed to turn of the PC and start wheeling it out before bieng told they would hae to take it again. Cue 7 minute wait. Take 2: The technology worked, but the guy's Dutch accent meant you could hardly hear what he was saying. Take 3: Less of an accent. They went for this take, except the audience was not as responsive. It just wasn't so interesting/funny/amazing the third time over.
I was in the audience, and St Richard's Catholic College managed to secure around 35 places, and to apply you had to be on the Science Gifted and Talented Register. We were there to enjoy the show and the science (although they did have cues to clap/laugh ect)
