You ARE NOT supposed to use it after every washing. I use in at a maximum of twice a week. I pair with Bed Head's Dumb Blonde Reconstructor, Paul Mitchell's ColorCare Reconstructor, Pantene Curls To Straight shampoo and conditioner, got2b POWDER'ful Volumizing Powder (for texture), and Redken Color Extend Shine Enrich serum. Makes my hair healthy, shiny, soft, and easy to straighten but full of life.
If you use it too much, it'll make your hair gross. Use it sparingly, and don't use too much
@pinkiecharm hey, could you maybe do a review of herbal essence's long term relationship leave in split end protecter and maybe do a little comparison with this product? If you already have, sorry. You have so many videos and I haven't been watching your videos for very long. Please and thank you.
@MsGookette If you can get it wherever you're from, I say check out the LIVE CLEAN line, google it. They have a great leave in conditioner spray. I'm not a rep or anything for the company, I just think for 4.99 its a great product, my hair's never felt, looked and been healthier in my life.
@Jibeauty013 As far as I can tell, no. Just because their prices may be similar doesn't make them an authorized seller of the products. Your best bet is to ALWAYS buy "professional salon only" products, and they always say so on the bottles, at your local salon or even Ulta (which includes a professional salon) or even Penny's (who also tend to have professional salons).
@jennyaltamirano No. If you're buying a professional brand, one that states "sold in salons only", you should only buy it at a salon. That's the only way to insure the product's authenticity, as well as making sure the product isn't expired or watered down.
your hair gets crunchy from ego boost because its not a conditioner, its a protein boost, and while protein is essential to healthy hair, it makes it feel disgusting. You also should be using this on wet hair and a blow drying aid, and follow up afterwards with you bedhead Afterparty, they work well together.
I agree . I wasted my money on this product and I`m only a kid . Haha . Because I`m African American it doesnt make my hair hard but it builds up quickly and my scalp is already dry as it is . Yes , tha product isnt long-term . And it weighs it down . It`s ok . Better to learn now than later !
I don't mind this product. It actually helped put moisture back into my over-chemically treated hair. Bad bleaching experience... bed head products helped me prevent getting a man-cut. But, I agree with some of your points; silicon, grease, no way to cure split ends, consistency. So, this doesn't do exactly what it's advertised, but it does help moisturize as a leave-in conditioner should.
also the one reason why you will not be overjoyed with the product is because not all hair is the same. and the product can be good for ones persons hair better than the other. you shoud talk to your stylist to see which product is right for your hair. bed head was recommended for me from my aunt and I am peased with the results. maybe matrix is good for you. pual mitchel. really what is recommended. lol :)
@yaycookies14 While it's true that specific products work differently on different hair types, the brand is really irrelevant. Since this product doesn't specify and hair type that would benefit the most from this product, it should work for any hair type and it didn't happen to work for me. :)
I actually love ego boost. I barly flat iron my hair. because my hair is striaght but when I do I use ego boost as an after treatment. it made m hair feel softer and shinyier than with out it. my aunt is a professional styist and owns her own big salon. and she remcommens it as more of a leave in conditioner and a spil end "perventer" which I think it did do th job. she siad one reason why I leave in codition can get crunchy is because the oils in the hair can effect the silcone int the product.
@yaycookies14 This isn't advertised as a "split-end preventing product", but a "split-end mender", which of course is ridiculous since no product can actually repair split ends. *lol* You can't really treat split ends, but you can cover them up temporarily with a good conditioning and the right serum. I'm glad this worked for you, but it failed to even decently condition my hair.
actually where i live you save a lot by buying them at target or walmart than buying from a salon... and they are authentic. and if a product doesnt work for you for some reason, you can return it and get your money back.
@punkhoplove You can never be sure that a "sold in professional salons" product is authentic or hasn't passed its expiration date even if it's sold at Target. That's why it's important to buy these products at a salon to guarantee not just its authenticity, but also it's quality.
I bought ego boost a week ago and I use it every time I get out of the shower and I love it. I didn't buy it to fix split ends or anything, I bought it as a leave in conditioner.
Hi, I just wanted to say I really liked you review 'cause it was honest. A while back I read a raving review about this product that said that it had amazing long term effect. I used to iron my hair a lot and now it's damaged so I was very interested in Ego Boost. Needless to say I was dissapointed. :(
Could you recomend any products (shampoo, conditioner, treatment... ) that you think actually have long term effects on heat damaged hair? thanx :)
@poisonouspixie20 I doubt there are any products that can fix damaged hair, regardless of what kind of damage. The only thing that can help is a good haircut and maybe a deep conditioning treatment at your local salon. I'm no expert on hair, but I'd suggest talking to a stylist.
@aprincessgonewrong These products aren't actually cheaper outside of a salon, at least not overall. You run the risk of buying a product that's expired, used or even fake. It's ALWAYS better to buy "salon only" products at a salon where you know you're getting the good stuff. ;)
i bought this last yr and I still have about half a bottle left. You only need about 2-3 pumps and it smells amazing. Your right, it doesnt mend ur split ends. I just got a hair cut and im usiing this product. My hair smells great, looks shiny and my ends look amazing.
i work at a salon and we promote bed head products! so im not dowing the product but as a cosmetologist i have to say this wen getting SALON ONLY products at a DRUGSTORE the manufacture is fake and the put things in it for a SMELL of the product and make u belive its real but its been sitting for MONTHS sometimes YEARS and also its just expired and may even be used and half gone and ur buying for full price.
@mattmatt190 I agree. I try to tell people that they'll actually end up spending more buying salon products outside of a salon and that often the products can be expired or something else. People just want to buy them where it's easiest to get them I suppose. However after chatting with a representative of Matrix, not ALL of these products are necessarily fakes. A lot of them are purchased in bulk and then sold to places like Target and Rite-Aid.
im a beauty school student and nothing can heal split ends is a hair cut ur 100% right and i love u but. the mender will only prevent spit ends AND at ONLY 60%. also it can help GROW better hair not make the hair at the ends BETTER shes right get a HAIR CUT!
omg, i just got my hair cut today, i got all the broken bits cut off and its really proffesionaly done and shiney(my hair used to be proxide blonde hense the damage!) I got this and bedhead tigi heat protector! it cost me £25 all together for the two products, i love them, the smell is fab too!
yes! it's worth it... i use it too, honestly i got my first bottle for Christmas last December.. i used about 1-4 pumps everyday... i used it up LAST WEEK... i just bought a new one... it lasts frikin long and it makes your hair REALLY soft of shiny....
crazyassfreddy: Oh well if someone has very dry or brittle hair then a leave-in conditioner probably isn't the right choice. That is what I meant when I said "it depends on your hair type." :)
crazyassfreddy: Actually it depends on your hair type. When my hair isn't dry a regular conditioner is too heavy so I prefer a leave-in conditioner which tends to be much lighter.
Thanks for the review, i was thinking about buying this....but now i wont!
And i love how you add EVERY single detail in your videos. You actually take the time to add the personal preferences and ingredients and personal uses of it!
i have been using this for years. and i swear by it. i have ringlet curls. i straighten my hair 90% of the time. and i use it as the split end mender. and it works so well for me. i have very little and less noticeable split ends. i love this <3
I 100% agree with you on the chruchyness of your hair when you use too much. I have hair down to my waist and it was crunch city. I Hated! it. It's more like a syrum to me then a conditioner. If i use it again which i never have since it made my hair crunchy..i would use very little and only as something that went over my ends instead of all over.
hahah i have NEVER heard anyone else use the term crunchy hair before! i always told the salon when i got my hair cut to not put hairspray in my hair because it gets "CRUNCHY" (they laughed at me and did it anyways...lame)
Thanks for the Review on this product. I've been using Bedhead Splint-End Mender going on 11 years now. Since the first time I was introduced to this product at a salon I tend to pick this as an over all leave in conditioner and it works great for me...
I agree with you. Thanks for mentioning 1.diverted hair products (they are bad news), and 2.the only cure for split ends. I've used TIGI products, until I found Bumble&bumble. Every TIGI product is SO greasy. It weighs the hair down and ruins whatever style you created. The only good thing about it is it smells good (the selling point). In this stylist's opinion, TIGI isn't worth a damn. Used it for years, and it's impossible to work with. Try B&b's Leave In conditioner, or Defrizz on your ends!
Wow thanks for the vid, I was thinking about switching to bedhead products (mostly the leave in conditioner). I use Biolage right now and i absolutely LOVE it. I tried the matrix but the stuff separated and the heavier stuff clogged the sprayer, even when shaken up. It was disgusting. ANYWAY,definitely glad that i saved myself from getting crunchy hair *ew* Your vids always make me laugh XP.
Babyfresa04 is right! I worked at two salons, one was Trade Secret and the hairstylists would use the products on themselves and clients and then put them back! LOL
i'm not a big fan of bedhead products. they smell great but they weigh my hair down and make it greasy very quickly. i've used this conditioner as well and it seemed to just sit on top of my hair rather than actually do anything.
i found that this product is great to hold fly aways on the top of your head down. with out using a hair spray thats going to make you have helmet head.
Salons depend on the stories that the products bought in stores are inferior. In nearly all cases, they are not. My friend works in sales dept. for Farouk (manufacturer of Biosilk and Chi). They do prefer their products to be sold only at the salons, because if creates more "exclusive" brand image. But they distribute to Kroger and CVS, because this creates the volume of the sales they want. So don't believe you are getting anything different from your salon.
behemottka: I only mentioned purchasing these products from a salon because in my communication with the brands, they all say that it's better to do so to insure you're getting what you're paying for.
i love reviews on hair products. i'm starting to take more interest in hair products but not willing to try every single one of them so thanks for doing this.
i love your videos..and this comment is not yo bash you..i am talking to the viewer. so you dont get offended. and i know you mentioned this in your vid.
this product pretty much is taking your money..you can not fix split ends or 'mend' them. the only way to get rid of them is to cut your hair. but..it is a good leave in conditioner. to me.
uhhh, did you not WATCH the video. She already mentioned that. She clearly said that the only way to mend split ends is to have a hair cut and that this product only covers up the problem.
Irene- you're right! I used this product a couple months ago and I never turned back to it. I use biolage leave in conditioner now and it's a lot lighter since it's a spray and not a gel :)
uhm okay so heres the situatuon with my hair: my hair is naturally curly and one day i straightened my hair and when i went to go take a shower it was still straight. i found out later that i put my straightened up too high and it burned my hair i guess
andi was wondering if there was any thing i could do to get my curly hair back because like i REALLY miss it.
Lovingyou0088: I can't see how having your straightener too high would have permanently straightened your hair. *lol* I'm not sure what you can do. Have you thought about going to see a stylist about it?
I was wondering if you could do a review on the Biosoilk Silk Therapy. A lot of people say it's comparable to the CHI Silk Infusion, but I'm really not sure. I trusts your reviews and since I live in Canada where it's hard to find CHI products, I can only find the Biosilk. Before I spend a hefty amount of money on it, I was wondering if it's possible for you to do a review. If not, at least you took the time to read this :) Thanks so much and amazing videos (:
Very interesting, I enjoyed this vid. I my self love the Infusium 23 Leave In, in fact I did a vid on my favorite hair products and I rave about it. I even mention the Bed Head.... I agree with you that the leave in will just mask the probems but what I will say is that if your hair is in pretty good shape like mine, the Infusium makes the hair like silk, it gets great review on MA.
i'm pretty sure this product is meant for extreme damage control/thick, curly hair, not straight, thin, and seemingly healthy hair.

Anyways, love the vids :)

behemottka: I only mentioned purchasing these products from a salon because in my communication with the brands, they all say that it's better to do so to insure you're getting what you're paying for.

i love reviews on hair products. i'm starting to take more interest in hair products but not willing to try every single one of them so thanks for doing this.

i love your videos..and this comment is not yo bash you..i am talking to the viewer. so you dont get offended. and i know you mentioned this in your vid.
this product pretty much is taking your money..you can not fix split ends or 'mend' them. the only way to get rid of them is to cut your hair. but..it is a good leave in conditioner. to me.
whydiddiscodie94 3 years ago
uhhh, did you not WATCH the video. She already mentioned that. She clearly said that the only way to mend split ends is to have a hair cut and that this product only covers up the problem.

lol She said it at least twice!

Zackerybob, did you not READ that comment? She said she was talking to a different viewer and SHE mentioned that it was mentioned in the video.

whydiddiscodie94: I'm confused as to why you're repeating what I said in the video in your comment. *lol*

Irene- you're right! I used this product a couple months ago and I never turned back to it. I use biolage leave in conditioner now and it's a lot lighter since it's a spray and not a gel :)

abcgrrrl: I LOVE the Biolage Leave-In Conditioner. :)

hey pinkiecahrm:)
uhm okay so heres the situatuon with my hair: my hair is naturally curly and one day i straightened my hair and when i went to go take a shower it was still straight. i found out later that i put my straightened up too high and it burned my hair i guess
andi was wondering if there was any thing i could do to get my curly hair back because like i REALLY miss it.
and suggestions?
Lovingyou0088 3 years ago
Lovingyou0088: I can't see how having your straightener too high would have permanently straightened your hair. *lol* I'm not sure what you can do. Have you thought about going to see a stylist about it?

can you give me a specific one that you like better than this one so i can try it out

You know their is salons which use the products & then sell them wihtout telling the people.
babyfresa04 3 years ago
babyfresa04: Not any salon I go to.
pinkiecharm 3 years ago
Well if they use it just on the person they're selling it to it's not so bad... but yeah, that's pretty crappy.
