Don't you just LOVE the way they snuck in the non-PG, but TOTALLY adult-oriented, snide humor in 80s toons? I mean YEARS later, and we're only NOW understanding the subtext of this fully.

Watch at 9:17. Peter and Slimer's chewing and arm movements sync up exactly. It's like when little baby birds imprint on the first creature they see. And if I recall right, in the movie Peter was the first human Slimer ever saw, so it's rather like Peter's his daddy. Or mommy.

A bit of a plot hole or whatever, Peter was pretty defensive of Slimer in the flashbacks but more or less hated him at the beginning of the series.
