Japanese Pokémon D/P Darkrai Glitch

It works. I just tried it again on my old imported Japanese Pearl. I once tried it on my US Diamond, it almost fucked my game, so it obviously doesn't work in D/P versions that aren't of the first batch of JP D/P's released.

I have a japanese pokemon pearl and I just found out that this works on my game. This is awesome, I'll have to do it on my japanese diamond when I complete the game. This is a good easy way to get Darkrai without a cheating device. The way you do in it the English game is a bit more complicated though, I havent yet been able to enter the void in my english game, becareful thouh if you do it wrong it'll screw up your game

one question, tecnicly this darkrai is like.. legit? I mean, not that you got it from the event.. but it's the real darkrai? or can people find out if it is fake ? (even though there wasn't yet an event to give away darkrai, but i mean, after the event, can that darkrai be considered a true pokemon - non-glitched one?)

Like the description says, it only works in some of the Japanese versions. It was found, patched, and fixed for later games.

@T0nu It should theoretically work in the US versions with a Walk Through Walls code. I tried this on my American Platinum with my set item being the Map and found myself on Fullmoon Island. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't work in a mystery zone, so you can have either assurance, or a chance to either get a legendary or destroy your game.

That's why people should transfer their Pokés in a safe place before trying this unless they know what the are doing. Like the description says: "Getting stuck on somewhere will be your own fault. Be sure to follow the guide."

If you get stuck at the "Mystery Zone" / "Black Abyss" you cannot get away from there without cheats. Teleport, Fly, Escape Rope, Dig, etc are doing nothing.

Kind of late for saying this, but I have just done it on my Japanese Pearl (pre-ordered way before the release day, so it is "first edition") and it WORKS! For those who messed up their game when attempting this glitch, it is totally your own fault. I was scared it might mess up my game as well, but it all went just fine.

Nice job. If you're going for the Shaymin too be sure to follow the guide as closely as this time. And that time, double check that you do have Pokémon with Fly or Teleport on one of 'em. Just so you can get away from that island, too. ;)

Good news, there is a Tweaking glitch method now to achieve Darkrai and Shaymin. There's a couple of instruction videos on how to get Darkrai. Shaymin will come in later on during the week.

it only worked in the first versions of japan game that came out in the first 24 hours

now its fixed obviously, and i bet that island is the place where you go for the darkrai whenever they host an event for it.

The glitch removed in like few months after releasing day as far as I know. I ordered my game about a week after release day and it got all known DP glitches in it. A short after I read the E4 glitch at first time. So the games got patched about like 1-2 months after being released.

I've heard that some people uses AR to get away from situation like that. If you cannot do that, delete save file and start a new game. :/

guys this does NOT work in the us version. only in EARLY copies of japanese versions. after word got out,the glitch was quickly fixed.

You can only do this glitch in the Japanese Version and can get the Pokemon D/P Game Card in Japanese but you can only get it in Japan.

@aprilmandy Maybe because the only way to get Darkrai without cheating is by having the event-only item that gets you to his island. If you missed the event, this is the only way for you to catch it in your own game, whether you consider yourself a cheater or not

This glitch can also be used to get to the Hall of Fame if I'm not wrong(but I think its very complicated), but perhaps it can't be used to get Arceus

Only risk is getting stuck at the black area if you do something wrong. I have performed the trick about 30 times in 10 different save file and every time landed at the same spot.

I'll prefer getting all cool stuff fast. I would say it's worth of the risk.

You do need a japanese version of D/P for this trick. I have heard that it was fixed from some of the newest jap versions. This trick can be done without AR, but not in USA/PAL version of the game.

Shaymin was much easier to catch than darkrai though, i only used a nest ball on him. I think i might have to use a masterball on darkra....

Im also using my R4 and i downloaded pokemon pearl the japanese version onto it and it still works............thanks alot, now i have 2 very rare pokemon

I don't think it's possible. Iirc, some of my friend tried to get on the Wi-Fi once but didn't managed to get connection on there. I used rom only to record the walking guide. Laggy rom, I prefer real games more. :s
