This hit has somethin' in common with Restless heart's 'I'll still be lovin' you'. Both were cowritten by Nashville songwriter, Todd Cerney. Anyway, 'Notorious' hit #38 in the US. How'd it do in Canada?
Totally love this song and band. Saw them in Jacksonville Flordia where this night club had the topliners there. I gave mike my tie and the women went crazy when he wrapted it around his head like a head band. By the way it was red
Don't know but I remember when I first saw this video way back I thought it had some of the most beautiful and sexy women I had ever seen in a video. Two favs are 3:56 and 3:13...totally in love. Would love to know where this was folmed and move there ;) The guys at around 2:00 are about like I would be.
I'm surprised nobody has posted this fact yet, but I remember reading and hearing on TV and radio countdown shows that Loverboy wanted a video that "looks like a beer commercial." And it really does look like a late-80s Michelob commercial, when you really look at it!
Just an awesome song, man. And how cool is it that the crew member posted here with his recollections? Gotta love YouTube, man.
Never thought of that before but, absolutely, really has that Michelob feel to it like the Clapton and Winwood Michelob ads that ran around that time. Good observation.
Yes, it was written by Bon Jovi and Sambora. In addition to that, Slippery When Wet was produced in Canada with the same guy who produced the Loverboy albums prior to that date. So there is a real Bon Jovi connection there.
MTV in Australia pumped this song for weeks but it didn't hit. Strange because this stuff is gold, just unpretentious balls to the wall rock. Bring it back, because pop music now makes me violently ill.
this songs kicks ass when you crank it up in your car, so does too hot, i just downloaded that recently, loverboy just gets better and better, thanks for posting
They made alot of very good songs, this song being one of them, but their best song is definately "Working for the Weekend".Lovin every minute,Too Hot and Hot Girls in Love are right up there too.
I found this YouTube clip after coming across a picture single of this song backed with Wildside in amongst my records and I don't even remember buying it!!!
Wow I am an avid video collector, I have at least 1000 videos. I have watched this one many times and never realized that it was Traci Lords in the opening shot. Thanks for the info.
lol sounds kinda japenese in the beggining.I've been a lover boy fan for years, and every night in the basement i would tie my rising sun headband around my head and blast this song.I would first bow then do karate poses then I'd play air guitar. lol good times, good times.
I worked crew on this video - we had locations in various places around LA including the Wiltern, but was mostly shot right on Hollywood Blvd over a couple of nights. I distinctly remember the gal in the short skirt who stumbles - she was a stunner - and the gal in the phone booth - not a real phone booth btw. We shot alot from rooftops and spent alot of time hosing down the Blvd to make it shiny.
Ha, EXACTLY the reason why I looked this video up. Saw it when I was 15 and it's stayed with me ever since. Shame "Workin' for the weekend" is their best-known song coz this is much better...
I dunno... saw the other video on here of them live doing this song, and it sucked! LOL! Hey, I LOVE this song, but some things shouldn't be done, and a fifty-some year old shouldn't be trying to do this song! The instrumentals and the vocals of that live were just horrid!
thanks for posting this... shame it's from a vcr tape, but you know, it's better than not having it. I always loved the part with the gal in the brown dress that stops and rubs her calf muscle, and the two dudes on the street see it, and kinda go weak! LOL! The gal in the locked phone booth scene was always hysterical too! And the one in the police spotlight! Just a great made video!
awesome¡ i dont hear this song since high school in bachilleres america in monclova coahuila, cool song, bring me the times of beer, chicks, and cigarretes, beautiful
Did I hear right when I heard that this is a Jon Bon Jovi penned song? I also heard that they were meant to get You Give Love a Bad Name but Bon Jovi decided to keep it and passed on this one instead. Either way, I LOVE this song - one of the better hair rock tunes of the 80s - just fantastic!!!
Yes, Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Desmond Child wrote this song. I read somewhere once that Jon wasn't happy with the way it turned out, but I think its' fine. p.s. Jon sings on the 2nd verse at 1:41.
Man, brings back lots of great memories of 1987...thanks for putting this video back on, one of my all time favorite videos from my alltime favorite band !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you I was hoping someone would get this back on youtube....reminds of the good ol days before I started having my kids.. partying in the city was a blast....

Canadian content laws created Loverboy. Insecure, second rate, socialist nation living off the USA. 'Nuff said.
