The guy is on a rotating set. He's rotated face down to levitate, with the angle of the glass controlling the ball. Ring is glued or tacked, you can see him pin the ring down with his finger at 0:42. Remote is also tacked down on one side so it rotates a bit when he bumps it.

thats most liekly the case. the gas also must be somehow magnetic also since he could manipulate it. i dont see any other way unless its a camera trick
