Are you really sure about that? In "chinasmack" site, I've seen several comments which show us how the current young Chineses are far from Mao and closer to Hitler. Comments like "blacks are dirty" or "if you marry a black man don't say that you are Chinese" were common among Chinese viewers.
I've seen also several foreigners claiming that Chineses are deeply racists and even Chineses claiming that they are ashamed of being racists because of such ppl.

This is THE BEST performance of the Chinese National Anthem I have ever heard!!! As a non-Chinese speaker, his pronunciation is outstanding. Our beloved comrade Paul Robeson had traveled to the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin to escape the evils of American racism, also because he did not want his child to experience the racism in America. After Stalin passed away Mr. Robeson traveled to China to escape Khrushchevs revisionism.
Mr. Robeson was a wonderful man. And a wonderful talent, what saddens me is that racism did a part in him not being as famous in the western world as he should, he was insanely talented.

Robeson learnt to speak in over 20 languages. He was a very intelligent guy whom I was fortunate enough to meet in 1958 when he got his passport back. So (as he went to China to perform) why not learn their national anthem?

this recording was made in the USSR in June 1949, four months prior to this song was being announced to be the de facto National Anthem of China, He sang because it is a beautiful song, not because it is the National Anthem of China.
