  • Thanks for posting this bro, i remember the days of that anointing! James Cleveland did his version of this as well and we'd go one sunday to the baptist church and hear his version there and the next sunday to the cogic and hear Dr Clark's version. Lol but nobody could match that power and anointing of Dr Clark, not even 10 cogic bishops! Lol say whatever u want, Dr Clark was a powerhouse, her and Twinkie!!!!

  • Dr Clark often used Linda because she was such an anointed young woman. She would put Linda and Carol Thomas (from Cleveland Oh-at that time) up in the mid night musicals. They both were blind and powerfully anointed. I used to jokingly say Linda didn't know she was white that's why she sang the way she did. But I loved both of those ladies. Anyone know where they are now? I know Carol did a song on one of John P. Kee older VIP albums-heard she moved to the East Coast. Those were the days!

  • OH LAWD YESSS!! As a kid, I was actually more familiar with the James Cleveland & The Voices Of Cornerstone version of this song (I know y'all heard that one too!) But, I know it's originally a Moss/Clark tune! Either way, classic and beautiful! They honestly don't sing in depth gospel like this anymore!

  • I love this song. The womens choir sanged this song during the 104th holy convocation.

  • Twinkie better PLAY THAT ORGAN!!!...YES!!!!

  • Can we say ANOINTING...so NEEDED TODAY!!!

  • This used to be the song our mass choir and small choir sang this to death!!!

  • @athorpe630 churches today seem to nolonger have choirs. my pastor died in 2002 and now this new young idiot pastor at the church took out the choir stand which has been in the church since the 1960s. trying to be like everyone else. churches have gotten away from choirs. singing in the choir was one of the activities that kept the young people in the church. pastors dont realize that removing the choir is one trick of satan. now young people dont have anything much to do in the church.

  • @721rem...you are so right! We can't keep up with all these trends. It's so true, choirs are one of the most important elements of a church. The choir has to be in tune with the pastor because we sit right behind him and choirs help set the atmosphere for the Word of God that's gonna come from the pastor. Wow, that's just a shame your choir stand is gone. Lord have mercy!

  • @bkttkb3214 the church today is acting the way the isrealites acted in the wilderness in the old testement days when they wanted a king like all the other nations and not realizing the blessed living providing God they had before them.

churches want to be and look like others when God said we were a "peculiar" ppl. how can the world spot us for help when we look and act and sound like the world. if thats the case, why go to church.

it's sad all the way around. just keep praying!

  • @721rem I totally agree! There is absolutely too much compromising.

  • @721rem so very true. America and many of it's churches now resemble Ancient Rome and we all know what happened to that barbaric society. Faith and Works... Prayer and Action are a requirement for the true followers of Christ at this time.

  • That lil bit Dr. Clark sang at 7:35 just does my soul good..love this..good ol' skool cogic sangin.

  • LORD loook over the years we sang our hearts out back then

  • THIS IS ANOINTED!!!!!! MY GOD!

  • We used to sing this song for the Youth choir.

  • Hail satan.

  • @NPMC206 Satan the Blood of Jesus is against you!!

  • @NPMC206 and satan is laughing at you right now for hailing him. He's probably saying "you fool"

  • This is one of the Best renditions of A Praying Spirit. God Bless the Church of God in Christ.

  • I have the original album. oh how gratefule I am to have grown up during the height of the COGIC music department. Thank you Dr. Clark

  • My God! I haven't heard this song is many many many years. Thanks for posting!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • It is such a blessing to hear Linda Pawlovich sing this! I haven't heard this recording in many a year.

  • This was a blind, white lady leading. She used to wreck every COGIC Convention. Her name is Linda Pawlovich, and she resides in Los Angeles.

  • didn't she also used to sing "I Can Do All Things Thru Christ?" w/ Sis. Nelson??

  • @iluvdorinda ..Are you serious!!! that lady singing is white??? wow..i would have never known...How did she use to wreck every cogic convention???

  • She betta roll that 'r' on "thrrrough"! 2:05

  • This song should be everyone prayer. In order to survive day to day we need a praying spirit to fight the spirits in the air. Ha-ya

    Keep posting good gospel Johnzoe777!

  • It seems like it's been 100 years since I've heard this. The Joybells of the St Marks COGIC in Richmond, VA used to sing this back in the day. Yes, we were awesome!!!

  • never heard this version before. i have the clark sisters singing it on the COGIC International Mass Choir project from back in the day

  • This brought back so many memories for me. It was a great nite. And most of us could barely talk by nites end. Thanks for takin' me back down memory lane!

  • Memory line is all you will find on my page the best of old school

  • Thank you Johnzoe777 for posting all of your albums. I just happened upon your page and want to Thank God somebody has "THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST" out here. I can't stand this new day junk they call the gospel. Contemporary Gospel? whoever decided to yield to the enemy for contemporary fell from Grace. Contemporary is in contempt of THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST. A little leaven levels the whole lump! Thank God for The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • we used to have this record back when it 1st came out! this is 1 of the many COGIC records that i learned how to play the organ from...THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING

  • This is an awesome rendition

  • Is this the blind lady that used to sing with the voices of Christ out of california

  • The lady leading this song is the inimitable Linda Pawlovich of California. This caucasian sister is one of the baddest psalmists ever known. She was really relevant back in the good ole days of COGIC. I have several recordings of her singing at the late night musical during the Holy Convocation "Chisca Hotel days".

  • Thanks for the info.

  • OMG!!! The leading this song is white? Wouldn't think it....

  • I had this album. Thanks for posting this version which is my FAVORITE! THat young lady sang, and then sang in tounges too......very powerful

  • is that Betty Ransom Nelson leading?

  • this lady, is wonderful. I remember she sang with the Voices of Christ, out of Oakland, CA. Back then we use to have church - From Sacramento to San Jose, CA -Concerts at Ray Mack's church, Ephesians, Love Center, Cornerstone and at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, in San Francisco... Oh what a day... Daryl Coley, Lynette Hawkins, Tramine Hawkins, Walter and of course handsome Edwin Hawkins - the Gospel Cooner.

  • I like the beat when they transistion into the bridge it sound like today's chords

  • I love the soloist on this song..her voice

  • What does UNAC stand for?

  • United National Auxillaries Convention...what is today's AIM Convention.

  • A fellow from the Southwest Michigan State Choir said he had seen a cassette of it. Are you sure? He seems to be sure of himself. He said they did not make a recording of the Indianapolis Unac, but they did of Chicago. However, even my brother said that no Chicago recording was done. SO there seems to be some confusion about what happened. Thanks.

  • Any way you could post "Hold Out" by Benny Cummings? I never heard that version before. If not I understand.

  • Anyone have UNAC-5 Chicago 1983.

  • no album came out that year.
