Hey earsrfast... David Gilmour has always been a "HUGE" supporter of Syd Barrett... probably Syd's best friend in his (Syd's) later life... "Wish You Were Here" was his (Davids) tribute to his life long friend... so don't come on here dissing David about how he is trying to "make a buck" off of Syd... he did this as a "heartfelt hats off" to his friend. And if you ask me Bowie did a great job with the vocals on this performance.

gsisola, now that I listened to it again, I really like it. But I also love to hear farts on airplanes. I don't doubt Gilmour's feelings for Syd. I love Syd and never met the man so I get it. I've heard Gilmour fart out more than this Barrett song and they all lack the conviction Syd performed. I guess I was just venting frustration with Bowie running out of gas too.

I'd like to see what White Stripe would do with a Syd Barrett song. Bowie's 90-years-old and sounds like he gave up a long time ago. The best part about Syd was that his songs were refreshingly raw and vulnerable. These old farts quit taking risks a long time ago.

Gilmour's just trying to make another dollar off of Syd's music.

anitasseo, bravo!!! You get it. Record it again. The "Why can't you see" part is perfectly sung, but is too hot (loud) for the mic. Practice with a sound person and get that part right and you'll have a nice jewel. If you don't have a sound person, try backing several feet away from the mic when you sing the louder parts. I also listened to several of your other songs. I like it a lot but that might be the kiss of death because I hate everything. lol
