Socialized medicine has its problems too. My friend in the UK says it takes 6 months to get an appt. to see the Dentist and waiting lines at the doctor's office are terrible. Nothing is perfect we should promote preventive medicine so we can cut down on relaying on doctors to heal us for everything. Good diet,exercise,nutritional supplements,no smoking or drinking or illict drugs, and positive attitude.

Sure, Nationail Helath ("Socialized medicine") has its problems but not the kind that would financially cripple you. A doc appt takes 1-2 days, in A&E (ER) you might wait 3-5 hours, but it's free. Alternatively wait 15 mins and pay $12k-$60k!? App's to see a NHS dentist every 6 months for a check-up, costing £14 ($30), and dental work is heavily subsidised (my last bill for an xray and minor remodelling = $60). I'd rather have my government deal with my medical care, not a greedy corporation.

I do believe in Socialized medicine I think the French & Germans have the best system. My stupid govt. would rather waste money on moron wars but what I am try to say is many Americans are not taking responsibility for health. Yes the US health system sucks but only the American pple can change it by demanding it change instead they are to passive instead of demanding the change. China does it the best way first holistic & then allopathic!

..but your right about preventive life stlye. Don't eat crap, don't feel like crap! Many people these days eat 'space food' - stuff that comes in a packet, box or a tube. Go to your grocers and buy fresh fruit and veg, got the butchers and get decent cuts of meet - not some pre-formed processed factory muck. Food shouldn't be perfectly geometrical!

Okay, I've heard that from UK too, though don't forget that UK is kind of "sister-country" to US wild capitalism. I am German, and I don't have to wait more than a couple of days to get an appt. to see my Dentist or any other doctor.

Believe it or not I do believe in Socialized Medicine but the thing I am trying to get across is here in the US. Americans are not taking responsibility for their health. They eat junk food, don't exercise enough, watch to much TV, to much smoking & alcohol consumption, and to much meat eating. Then they want the doctors to heal them. People need to take charge with making smart choices and responsibilities for health. Yes I heard the German & French have the best medical care in the world.

yes, i would like to see the downside to Socialized medicine. I just watched this film for the first time and i have to say it made me sick to my stomache, just some of the things he has pointed out were just unbelievable! Made me rethink ALOT of things. BUT, yeah what are the disadvantages... heh im sure Moore isent going to make a film on that, OR mabey he will who knows.
