I'm really excited for it. I agree that the city is beautiful to look at. You know when you look at a setting and it gives you nostalgia for something. Yeah that is what the republic city does. I love it. It would have been funny though if old Katara voiced the opening.
you will be able to find out what happened to zukos mother in the new comics of A:TLA the promise. some the author said that they continue the connversation zuko had with his father. though some people say that ozai killed her and thats why zuko turns like his father.
I wish they more season too. But I found out that they're doing a three part graphic novel series of what happen after the last episode and will provide a link to The Legend of Korra. I think that's pretty cool but I think they should do another season or more. Oh well but I'm still excited about The Legend of Korra.

@Kwills812 All I know is the leaker was given 3 letters from Viacom saying something about copyright and stuff.
About the flashbacks, Zuko's mother, and their life after The War. That will all be shown and explained in the new Avatar comics "The Promise" releasing next year. The comics will take place immediately where A:TLA left over and the rest a year later, so i dont think there's any need to make flashbacks about the original characters in LOK.
My favorite part was when the camera was zooming towards the city over the water and the strings kicked in and then in panned over to Aang's statue and the full theme kicking in
