Johnny Marrs breakaway venture. I worship the PSB and The Smiths. Loved this song when it came out. Now Johnny has 'remastered' The Smiths greatest hits . Mmm
Ah, the "Cool World" Soundtrack... (called "Songs from the Cool World" FWIW) actually has a number of great tracks on it (crap movie IMO). Ranges from Brian Eno (Under) to Ministry (N.W.O.). Though this is my favorite by far.
Another Tennant Electronic tracks to look for is "Patience of a Saint". "Getting Away With It" has Neil doing harmony/backup vocals. Not to imply that Electronic tracks without Neil suck or anything... maybe it is just me, but I really like "Feel Every Beat".
Anybody remembers a music that New Order and Pet Shop Boys used to Sing together?? I love that song but I don´t find anywhere..and I don´t remember the name.
Not tremendously substantial, but fine background music. I wonder why Marr didn't write better music outside the Smiths, seeing as he wrote most of the actual music for the Smiths.
I was going to purchase this song from iTunes, but the remix seems to have gotten rid of the guitar on the way out of the verses. And folks wonder why the music industry is failing. Leave it alone!
@soundoftheatom THIS SONG WAS RELEASED IN 1990, I CAN TELL THAT BECAUSE THAT WAS THE YEAR I FINISHED MY HIGH SCHOOL AND THIS SONG WAS A MAJOR HIT THAT YEAR!
@juguetech No it wasn't. If you're going to try and be clever, you could at least have your facts right. This song was definitely NOT out in 1990, so if you remember it in your last year at high school then you're either:
a. lying
b. left school in a different year
c. had a time machine
It was released in 1992 as I stated in an earlier post. The song was used on the soundtrack to the film 'Cool World' which was also, coincidently, released in 1992.
I flippin' LOVE Electronic!! They were basically an electro "super group" of the 90's featuring Bernie Sumner of New Order, Johny Marr of the Smiths, Neil Tennant of The Pet Shop Boys and briefly one of kraftwerk!! In fact.... Oh god Im such a music anorak... Johnny Marr played on every track of the last Pet Shop studio album "YES" So has Johnny secretly joined The Pet Shop Boys!!!!
@LizTena Electronic's first album is 20 years old this year. I've been listening to it for the last 20 years. A lot of the lyrics now make a lot more sense to me as I'm about to turn 42. Bearhug. Tx
Anything but disappointing....It 's perfect.

ADORE!
You must check Pet Shop Boys "Yes" (2009) - Johny Marr played on guitar there and some songs reminds Electronic (Vulnurable, Building A Wall...)

A great song with the best of Britain's electro talents!
I've been looking for the other song 'Gangster' on the Disappointed CD single but it doesn't seem to be on Youtube. Anyone has it on MP3?
adrianjohnneo 1 year ago
@adrianjohnneo
Iv'e tried to upload most tracks by Electronic, including 'Gangster', but they always get pulled by Youtube claiming copyright violation.
That's the reason you can't find it... Sorry!
