  • first they laughing his ass off then they scream like a pussy :D -.-

  • Filmed with a fucking LightBrite apparently...

  • Dumbass Chinaman

  • 他妈的你还笑这样大声!!!凸你o0o╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮鄙视你!

  • Those people on the beach probably died. Crushed against the wall by the power of the wave... RIP to all the lives lost.

  • WOOOOOOOOHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHHFUUUUCCCKKKKKK! 0:28

  • so they are in the shore right?! and the tsunami is headed right their way?! dude what is wrong with people these days?!

  • The problem with Penang back then was that there were no tsunami emergency alerts installed for the public's awareness.. That is why the people in this video were laughing and joking because they did not realize that it was an actual tsunami until the very last second... So stop calling them names for laughing and stuff..

  • You faggs are laughing ? Go fuck yourself. That's like your laughing at world trade center collapsing ! Fuck u...

  • climb on the tree you stupid asians!

  • @fize34 You stupid American, The strength of the tsunami was so great it took out houses and cars, I'm pretty sure the tree would collapse.

  • @rofbum916 The tsunami here in Penang (Malaysia) was much weaker than in Thailand, Indonesia & Sri Lanka. Even on Phi Phi Island most palm trees survived. So the tree in this clip would not have collapsed.

  • this happens when Chuck Norris does a cannon ball

  • the guy at o:43 sounded like a llama for something

  • the Laugh Of Death!!! xD

  • I hope anyone mocking them for laughing initially realises that everyone in this video is, without any doubt, dead, and this footage would have been found on an SD card in a recovered video camera.

  • the waves weren't so high, but fast and powerful

  • จะตายห่า กันอยู่ละ ยัง สนุกกันอีก - -

  • thats fuckin horrible. They all thought it was funny. just a big wave. And those brave ones on the beach. God. that is terror.

  • @asspunchquarterpound Well its because in our country the wave is very small.. soo small its only a feet. Nobody expected this. I feel sorry for Acheh, Indonesia where the biggest Wave hits. 300 000 died.

  • jaajajajajajajaj

  • At first they were like: Ooooh!! hehehehe! n_n

    but then... HELP!! D:

  • Why the hell r u laughing?

  • lulz

  • Dr Ian Malcom (Jurassic Park 2) : "Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming."

  • anybody notice the kids on the beach?

  • shit thats scary

  • At this moment people didn't know much about tsunami and how deadly it can be. Malaysia is not prone to such natural disaster except landslides, rockslides, mudslides, etc. Malaysians aren't aware of tsunami. I too would have stayed and watch. Malaysia is not in the Ring Of Fire. We don't get earthquakes, tornado, hurricane and definitely not a tsunami. Penang and Kedah was hit same time as Thailand (Phuket)

  • poor guys that go dunked... unlucky

  • a tsunami comming in and laugh they laughin at the waves :O

  • Yeah, people underestimate the power of "little" waves for sure, but 5 cm of water moving fairly fast can knock you down, and the worst part of it would be getting ripped back out with the wave

  • What did ViperXXXXXXX say, i couldn't be bothered looking for his comment

  • Sad thing is, those kids you saw at the beginning of the video are most likely dead.

  • wlallala

  • THATS NOT A FUCKING TSUNAMI!!!!!!!!!

  • @Mooga123456

    so what is it ?!

  • @Mooga123456 You sir, are stupid.

  • @Mooga123456 ???? what is it ????

  • @Mooga123456

    uuhhh.... yes... it... it is.

  • uhuh u guy are laughing now... >_>

  • thats .... tiny .... srsly

  • จะตายกันอยู่แระ หัวเราะอยู่ได้แทนที่จะหนี

  • They thought it was a game until they asses got sucked up in it. Why do people think mother nature is a joke?!?!

  • it was Indonesia not Malaysia

  • @chillpill1122 ouh it was Malaysia.this video was beside the Gurney Drive....in Indonesia was in Acheh (the main techtonic plat which was the exactly the main point of 2004's tsunami) but some other countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Seychelles, Maldives and Malaysia had also felt the impact of it...

  • Tsunami is not a wave, its just a current carrying huge water bodies

  • its intresting there like wow so cool until they realize that the wave is not going to stop

  • Tidy

  • Comment removed

  • @mrpomf That is the most twisted thing i have ever heard on youtube. There is something wrong with you. Get help.

  • 0:42 A GHOST!!!

  • the guy standing in the water is like "im gonna look like such a badass standin against this wave *wave is 15 feet away* RUN BITCH RUNNNNN

  • i hope this is the first and the last tsunami hits penang

  • this is my country but i stay in PERAK....perak no tsunami....

  • those people in the water are about to die and the people with the camera are laughing.

  • ;'( penangites.

  • ;'(

  • Tsunami doesn't mean 'big wave'. It means 'harbor wave', because the confines of a harbor often focuses & amplifies the height. A tsunami may come ashore being only 1 inch high. It is the wavelength that causes it to be a tsunami..

Wind wave wavelength may be 100 feet.

Tsunami wavelength may be 100 MILES.

That means the wave comes & goes for 30 MINUTES each way! = ENERGY!

  • @psycotria Finally someone gets it

  • hoho..man infront sea i think he dead,,coz the wave become monster..i see many people die at balik pulau..very sad..

  • First wave : HAHAHAHAHA

    Second wave : RUUUUUUUUUUN !!!!

  • What the heck? People, they didn't know the wave was going to hit hard until it came AT them with speed and height. Stop accusing them of being stupid.

  • I would have

    A)shitted myself

    or

B)run like hell when i first saw the wave

  • easy solution: umm….Run??

  • its not a tsunami

  • Those two kids died.

  • @jeffreybowling50 i didnt see any kids

  • just imagine you where there thinking it was a regular day and see a big wave get near you. Of course thinking its a regular day your going to laugh until you see that the waves dont stop thats when everyone realizes this is no joke and starts to panic.

  • choqueeiii

  • WHY LAUGHING??

  • OMG

  • Comment removed

  • It's not the 'size' of the waves that matters, it's the force behind them

  • @bigman25plus25 If a wave has enough force, it becomes big as it sweeps through more water and takes it with it, before curling up when the water shallows out and crashing down on the shore.

  • what about the 2 guys in the sea?? they get slammed against the wall....

  • thats nothing but i guess where i live the waves are just bigger

  • Penang was quite lucky, because it's located in the straight of Malacca, the waves had to go all the way around of Sumatra's northern tip. Is it Batu Ferringhi, that beach? I've been there. The wave's strength must have been estimated correctly by the spectators, because it could have easily swept them away if the water had pushed a little more forward, it was just week enough to be just bathing fun. The guts to wait for the wave shows the lack of tsunami-experience back then.

  • i hope the guy died. what the fuck was he thinking??

  • This shit is so scary omfg D:

  • the two dude were playing in the water at got smashed in there i hope they lived

  • anyone else noticed the two poor dudes in the water sucked in by the wave and then hit by it

  • i would start running at 0:27 ......

  • ohhhh shit.. imagine how terrified those people on the beach were.. they laughed as the first wave came.. thinking it would go back down.. and it did a little bit.. but that probably kept them from running (we all know how hard it can be moving forward in knee deep water going backwards) then another wave came and smashed them against the seawall... that is so scary :u awful way to go

  • there is no safe place in earth...

  • @raifUSA sure there is, in a giant self contained high tech bunker in the mountains

  • stupid malaysian, that was tsunami bastards

  • From what i despict here seems to be pretty obvious... these poor people simply weren't aware of what was unfolding before them and lightly took this as a strong tide simply because they were not familiar of what a tsunami was and had no knowledge or warning of it. However... If I understood this right... The American Tsunami warning center did send off an alert to authorities of these countries but they failed to respond, therefore failing many of thier people miserably.

  • That looked kinda fun..

  • Unless you are directly near high ground that is over 10 feet. There is really no point in running, in the open ocean Tsunamis can reach speeds of 500mph, once they hit shallower water running up to land, they will slow down. Still, unless you can run 30mph, you are dead.

  • i would have ran like a chetaa and usain bolt put toghter

  • @3602tre arent they the same?

  • please run :(

  • WELL KIDS NOW WE ALL KNOW TO RUN FROM A FUCKING 20 FT DIRTY WAVE

  • pretty cool, must be fun to see that

  • i was lucky i went home earlier that day

  • @kelvgan - you're a fucking idiot! They didn't know and thought it was just a big wave. You would think they would laugh at dying people?! Get lost

  • wait till they see the real thing and true damage a real tsunami tidal wave can bring, the smiles will be wiped out later

  • N'importe quelle personne dotée d'une conscience devrait se rendre compte, quand elle voit une vague comme ça et qui traverse toute la plage, qu'il se passe quelque chose, non ?? Et ce même s'il ne savent pas ce qu'est un tsunami

  • Hahahaha

  • shit those people swept by the wave on the beach have been knocked on the wall ... damn

  • Foolish

  • nice

  • wow this shit got superreal in like 5seconds

  • the water looked pretty harmless until a few seconds before it hit land. im sure people now would react different, after tsunamis have got so much attention in the medias

  • guy on left in 0:50 is dead in 2 sec.

he got smashed in wall by wave

  • @djoleserbian yeah i was surprised the idiots kept laughing even after 2 people got slammed into the concrete wall by the big wave... how is that funny?? they probablly got their heads split open

  • @llHyRaXll yah and he keep saying woah woah woah but no fear

  • @llHyRaXll i dont think they sow them heaving there heads smashed

  • @djoleserbian the person who was closest to the beach probably fared worse.. you seem them fall after the first wave.. when it pulls back it surely sucked that person under with it, then the second wave came and sealed their fate :u at least those upper people got killed instantly (most likely) .. scary shit

  • I know where NOT to go on vacation this summer!

  • @Fatality0217 looll

  • this is Thailand you stupid

  • @jhazmarie18 its Malaysia dumbass, i live here =.=''

  • @BJash94 no dude, it's South Africa.

  • lets all watch as a huge wall of water comes barreling towards us

  • @jrizz171 i'll grab the pop corn

  • @kairiXhikariX haahaha sweet

  • @skaterkiviman it's so probably

  • @skaterkiviman Of course. There is no escaping that much water unless you are up high, or far away. He was right on the beach, it would have knocked him over and he would have be pushed into something very hard, or quickly drown.

  • ils rigolent en plus ! :/

  • knowledge is power..unless the lesson kills you...haha.. case in point, the people on the wrong side of that wave

  • what are the yellow human monkeys saying?

  • omg.. this is just soooo embarrassing.. they keep on saying "wow, that wave is so big. oh my god. look at it. wow.. its amazing.." then when the wave came in. they were like "*laugh for a while* then *screams* " ... don't they think is a bit weird that the wave suddenly become sooo big?? =.=

  • there laughing cause they thought i was a normal tidal wave.. tsunami looks like a tidal wave when coming in but a tsunami is a billons of gallons of water being pushed by movement (earthquake subduction) and it goes beyond the tide limit.. like inland sectons

  • And the Darwin Award goes to...whoever that dumb bitch was standing in front of the tsunami. Hope you had a nice swim.

  • shit man! haha

  • Stupid people! Many of them died because of being idiots, simply.

  • @Sarkovitch Human naturalistic behaviors.

  • It's harder to observe tsunamis like these near the sea level since they can look exactly like normal waves from that distance. However, when seeing tsunami from several meters above the sea, you'll notice that the wavelength of a tsunami is much longer (often several kilometers and only in a few cases, the waves break) and therefore, when it reaches land, it resembles onrushing tide rather than a larger wave.

  • The power of Allah subhana wa tallah.

  • They were laughing because they did not expect it was a tsunami. They were talking about how the waves looked huge and were amazed by it, thus they thought that was just normal waves coming in. Until the water reached the few people standing infront and near they then they realised it was time to get of it there,

  • the fact that these people are laughing as the wave hits that kid on the beach is disturbing...son't they realize what's going on?

  • why where they laughing a tsunami is a serious matter which mean sombody can get KILLED OR HURT.they should be running for their lives....

  • @sherlychanny102 They didn't get the memo lol...but seriously. Those people only knew the waves were unusually big they didn't know a tsunami was coming..

  • @sherlychanny102 normally big wave, i mean the dangerous one in malaysia must caused by storm , when tsunami stirkes for the first time and unfortunately malaysian never heard of tsunami before 2004. they have no idea what was happening.

  • Ahahaha water going fast looks coool ahaha OH FUCK RUN

  • this is malaysian

  • he was actually laughing as it came in. sorry, but people this stupid deserve everything they get.

  • @torino390

No! They laughed because he hadn't realized that it is going to be that bad.

They had fun of seeing such a big wave. And in my opinion tha wave didn't look that heavy on the sea, but then it came and end up in a disaster.

  • Erm kid, dont wanna alarm you but that wave is 10x bigger then you, you might wanna get a jog on.

Oh snap you've been taken out 0:51

  • people are so stupid

  • People are laughing in this video because Malaysia is located in a region where tidal waves never happen and the normal waves are significantly small to the normal waves of other countries. As a fellow Malaysian, we all didn't had a warning of this thing happening so we assumed its one of nature's wonders here in Malaysia. We all knew what happened the very next day

  • @BJash94 - Kind of should have figured what might happen when watching those waves come in. If waves there are significantly small in comparison, you'd THINK, that MAYBE, 20 giant waves moving at 100mph straight towards you could possibly cause some damage.

  • why are the people in this vid waiting until the last second to run away? come on the sea water is rising not a good sign right..

  • Why are these people laughing, those people on the beach were just smashed to death into a wall.

  • Thumbs up if your watching this because if the earthquake in japan... 11/3/2011

  • Comment removed

  • When I Was Thinking Of Japan I Watched This For Some Reason

  • after this Chuck Norris stoped doing cannon balls

  • how stupid can people be? if you see a wall of water racing towards you, it's probably not a good thing.

  • ..why are they laughing?

  • @miseryisgold13 The gene pool is better off without these ones

  • @miseryisgold13 Werent taking it seriously, didnt expect that much water to rush in. Simply, they were fucking idiots and many of them paid with their lives. Hard to feel all that bad for people died that did not try to get away at the first sign of trouble.

  • it's sort of eerie that they are laughing.

  • omg im only watching this because of what happened in japan

  • To all people wondering why people are "just standing there and not doing anything": Back in 2004, Tsunamis recieved virtually NO media coverage in the Western world, people had NO idea what it meant when the sea is suddenly receding - I remember being the only person in my family knowing those waves, because I was generally interested in natural desasters.

That way, Tilly Smith could save almost 100 tourists from certain death, only because she knew.

So please, just think once in a while.

  • @AustrianChaos - Just think once in a while? Thinking might have come in handy for those people who were standing on the beach waiting to be pummled by millions of gallons of violent water. Maybe if they'd have though "Hey, waves usually don't get that big, move that fast, or come in on such frequent intervals"... MAYBE, they'd still be alive. Watching those sort of waves come in, I can't believe people would sit there and laugh, but I'm constantly amazed by the stupidity of others.

  • @ViperXXXXXXX

You think you're really smart, do you. Watched too many Bruckheimer movies, eh? The waves didn't look all that big or that fast, especially from afar - and when people realized that they actually WERE, it was usually much too late.

Proof? More than 230,000 deaths. It's always easy to be "smart" afterwards.

  • @AustrianChaos How many of those 230,000 people do you suppose were standing on the beach watching the waves come at them? Don't be pissed off becuase I'm making sense that you don't agree with. I'm talking about the people on the beach who saw it coming, not the people in their homes that had no warning... Try rethinking your argument here, and don't be so defensive. If you make sense and I'm wrong, I'll admit it. No need to lose your temper.

  • @AustrianChaos Still, when the ocean recedes 75 feet with no warning it's a good sign to maybe find higher ground.

  • @AustrianChaos whatd he say his comment is removed ?

  • Tsunamis don't seem that dangerous when you SEE them... it's only when the water hits you realize how serious it is.

  • Davy Jones

  • im sure the couple that film this footage are dead by now

  • LOL .. people were just laughing while the tsunami was going on xD

  • they're just laughing when I think they are immersed that they could not laugh!

  • Was that guy laughing or sreaming for his life!

  • wat are those people standing there

my ass would all ready be gone if i saw that

  • It scares me how unaware of the tsunami people were. Until it really began, they were just there, chilling...

  • why they are only fuckly laughing.....

  • hey thats a big wave it could kill us but lets stand and laugh

  • Thumbs Up IF you watch this becuz of japan :D

  • for fucks sake, on every tsunami video there is always some faggot with the highest rated comments, and its usually about japan, SERIOUSLY, ITS NOT FUNNY!

  • The tsunami that happened in Malaysia is not too bad.. But in Acheh,Indonesia is really really freaking bad!!!
