Just curious, Is that an overtone i'm hearing at 33 when you sing is and me? I also hear it again at 1:02. Or did you add that octave higher harmony (E)? I didn't hear it in your harmony breakdown video
@HighTemplaris It must be an overtone (I'm not hearing it). If you don't hear it in the harmony breakdown video, then it's not in the vocal parts I'm singing.
This, my friend is not easy to do, and you, my friend have achieved the impossible. I have always longed to have more than one voice to sing this and now I feel as though I am on acid so thank you very very much for your fantastically beautiful gift you have given to the world.
Being a fanatical Beatles Fan, I have many books about them. One is called "The Long and Winding Road - History of the Beatles on record" it shows how each Beatle song was recorded, have you used this book?
You are outstanding. I love to listen to all the Beatle songs and daydream of how they were laid out. But on your videos you made my dreams come true. What a talent you have!!!!
I am an absolute Beatles fan, and I hate 'covers', - but this is one of may favourite songs and you did it absolute justice. So far, you are in a class of 1 in my opinion! - you're in the same folder on my computer as all the original Beatles songs!! - Brilliant...
@RazzleDazzle9410 Thanks! I don't own all the instruments. At the moment, I'm looking for a tambura (the larger "male" variety), which is the Indian instrument that produces that low drone that starts off "Tomorrow Never Knows" and weaves in and out of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".
@AllYouNeedIsLub Do you have a mellotron? I heard it's almost impossible to get today. Anyway, you should do more Beatle covers or make your own stuff because you're very talented.
@RazzleDazzle9410 I don't have a Mellotron. Maybe someday... The Mellotron 400 is not too hard to find these days, however the Mellotron MkII (which is the model that The Beatles used) is almost impossible to find. More Beatles covers are in the works. If you'd like to hear some of my original songs, do a search for Andrew Lubman in the iTunes music store. :)
@thebeatles1595 No effect used on the keyboard. Just a Baldwin electric harpsichord going through the small Baldwin amplifier (on the floor near my feet), and a microphone.
@cryowagon :3 Him and I have been planning that and we have a few parts down, but it'll be a while until it's ready. As of now, I'm sick, ergo I can't sing.
Wow, this is great! How did you get your hands on that harpsichord? I love it! You recreated this classic song faithfully. I'm doing this song for a music recording analysis paper in my Critical Listening class and stumbled across your cover, and I am very impressed. Great job. :D
@martindelpumas Ah, you noticed that, huh? :) Yes, for some reason--even though I am right-handed--I have always found it more comfortable to wear my wristwatch on my right hand.
Wow, my favorite of yours yet. Enjoyed the bit showing the frantic repatching of the synth. I watch your stuff (as I do all Beatles covers) looking to find even the smallest miss so I can say "a ha", but amazingly there aren't any. Bravo Andrew.
I sent you a comment on another video, and as a joke I said to do Because next, you said it was coming soon, I did not believe it, but here it is!!! Awesome!!!
Wow great work! Are you by any chance taking requests? :D I would love to see you do Sgt peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band or even better.... THE ABBEY ROAD MEDLEY
@jlgphd No I haven't. I did do a quick (audio only) cover of "Our Prayer" from "Smile".
You can hear it at the following link (YouTube doesn't allow a link to be posted normally, so just select all the text below, then copy and paste it into your browsers location bar):
@AllYouNeedIsLub I just listened to that. It gave me chills down my spine, as did Brian Wilson's 2004 recording. Especially liked the super high note at the end. I half expected you to launch into "Heroes And Villains" immediately afterwards. :-)
@ovsic666 As I mentioned in the video description above, the electric harpsichord and the synthesizer are not mine. They are part of a studio called Carousel Recording. (Maybe someday I'll be able to find them for my own collection :) )
You, sir, made my day!
