Strange Lag in ProStreet Geforce 8500gt

why do i get low fps someone help when i used to had windows 7 with 512mb ram and geforce 9400gt 512mb the game ran fine mayb from about 20 fps and up then i downgraded back to windows xp, the game was running from 2 to 3 fps i try lowering the game settings but still have the problem this didn't happend on windows 7, does it got to do something with the Nvidia control panel? i had a little lag skip when i was playing on win 7 , i already upgrade my ram and still have this problem on win xp

if u don't want to lag in games

buy windows Xp, couze it runs games fast

and upgrade ur ram to 2GB+

that's everything u need !

if u wanna play great games and have an great experience playing on high graphs !

u should upgrade ur video card to 512mb or 1GB or memory !

Some test show that the optimal ram size for vista/7 is 2gb BTW you can run vista with 256mb of ram

Actually that Geforce 8500 GT can run NFS: PS without any trouble, so as you can see that lag is not caused by the video card... he have more than 40+ FPS, the guy need more ram... that's all.

To Spookyrox - this lag is cuz you have a small amount of RAM for playing NFS PS on Vista Ultimate, 2gb of RAM would be very good for this system, and there would not be lags anymore.

Not true, I used to work at Geek Squad City in Kentucky which is the main headquarters for the entire east part of the U.S. on taking care of PCs taken to Best Buy. What I am getting to is I have seen so many programs and out of everything I have seen XP is far better than Vista and you would be suprised. All I am saying is that I built my own computer and I would highly recommend XP at anytime.

Yes u definitely do! Each core runs at the labled speed. If you have a core 2 duo labled as a 2.2 Ghz, each core runs at that speed making the overall 4.8Ghz.

first of all learn maths, 2.2+2.2=4.4 not 4.8, second of all program wont double a proccesors speed in order to use that full speed for its use, a e8500 (3.16ghz) would be faster than a q6600 (2.4Ghz) in some programs but may not be in others etc encoding or photoshopping for example whilst may be worse at certain games that do not utilize the extra 2 cores (exceptions being supreme commander, FSX and a few more).

i think that your combination of vista, pro street and onley 1 GB of ram is killing it all.

since vista needs a great piece of memory as well as pro street does.

or you should try another gig extra or just go to windows XP.

it cant be the videocard.

i run the game at a:

q6600 quad core 2.4 GHZ

2GB RAM

XP (OWNED vista XD)

and a 8500 GT 512 MB.

it runs great. i onley never start it up anymore :P

allankapo is noob playboy u understand NOTHING about Games or Computer, see the EA Games requeriments first stupid, and I ALREADY SOLVED MY LAG, is my CPU Processor before are 75º in game and AMD recommend max 63º for my processor, i buy a new cooler buffalo heat pipe, and my temperature descrease to 39º and NEVER happens this lag aggain, and game is more fast.
