  • ringo is just hidding his true talent and right before he dies he's going to play the greatest drum solo ever that we're all going to die

  • Hi mick fleetwood is a good drummer to.

  • Ringo i love you, you are my most favorit drummer of all time. love and peace Ringo

  • I'm surprised she was allowed to do any sort of solo. Everyone knows that Ringo hates drum solos.

  • Prince is the best.

I dunno how u can out drum ringo in his own band at his own show. But i guess hes cool wit it

  • Ah, I remember when "E' was Sheila Escovedo.......with *breasts*....

Before the "Short Purple One" got a hold of her...

    A "Love Bizarre" indeed....!

  • She's alright but nothing to get overexcited about.

  • if she wasn't any good Ringo wouldn't hire her. Ringo has been a famous drummer his whole life, even before The Beatles had him, so he would know what a good drummer is!

  • Fantastic Stuff.

  • OMG I just jizzed my pants watching this!!!!!!!

  • just a simple "press" by Karen Carpenter and Sheila would simply be blown away. Sheila is very good i think, but if u wanna the best check out for REAL amazing female Drummer (R.I.P. Karen)

  • @Xmenfan...I'm not knocking Ringo, but I performed a lot of the Beatles catalog when I was in high school and his playing is good and simple, yet slightly below rudimentary. i'm just sayig that he's not in the top 100 famous drummers. all those Bealtes songs are super-simple. the chords, rhythm and all that. Now if you want complexity....listen to Dennis Chambers, then holla.

  • Ringo was never a great drummer anyway. The original Beatls drummer was wayyy better. He's just a name in a classic group. Whatever he played on Beatls tracks could've been played by anyone.

  • @afrosensuous Um...Ringo is a way better drummer. Just listen to songs like Strawberry Fields Forever and A Day In The Life. Two of Ringo's MANY innovative drumming. How can you listen to albums like Sgt Pepper, Revolver, Rubber Soul, and Abbey Road and not realize what an incredible drummer Ringo was?

  • I am a recently retired working,dedicated rock drummer. From May '63 to Aug '08 I

have played up to 400 shows a year, internationally. Sometimes I could play a bad gig - mostly I didn't - mostly she does't either. The sound quality did her no favours, you could barely make out the grace beats and rim shots. I doubt she authorized it. Look at the big picture before putting her down please. She is the iconic girl drummer.

  • Well put. Who ever would put her down probably should think that we are not watching their video. We sought her out not them.

I didn't know drummers ever retired.

    Best wishes.

    Micheal

  • Hello Micheal & thanks for the support. I didn't retire from drumming, I now play at home with Led Zep & Level 42 etc in my headphones to an appreciative audience of one. Bliss! I retired from the chaos, the gig-lag & jet-lag, the mayhem, the debauchery and the road. 45 years, thousands of gigs. and a million Spinal Tap moments, all made possible by my hobby.

  • Ok so thats your taste. But check the right foot.

  • LOL. I will get bashed for this I am sure, but I'll be damn if she is not overrated. Just because she works as a "pro drummer" that doesn't mean she is good. This solo was horrible. CBS=Control Before Speed and she didn't have any in this video. Also her solo was weak and lacked creativity. Just my two cents, now hammer away on me. :-)

  • 100% correct

  • @wrzelitex no hammering. I agree. I'll call it passable. A bit difficult to part with the snare. But she's cute. LOL

  • ok...I'll not flame you up...because THIS VIDEO sucks....but trust me, sheila E is a beast

  • Is that Edgar Winter hovering over there on the sax?

  • holy shit!

  • Damn Sheila!

  • I was at this show!!! :D She rocked the house!

  • The best in latin drums is Horacio "El Negro" Hdz.

  • check out walfredo reyes... founder of using the clave with the foot in a drumset.

  • ok thanks for the recommendation

  • anytime man!! he really is a badass drummer but so is sheila e.!!

  • Im sorry, I know everyone has their own opinion about drumming and music, but in my honest opinion, Sheila E. is one of the best drummers the world has right now. She is also a great individual who has turned her life around for the better, you gotta give credit where credit is due, She rocked it.

  • @congaddict you know they have medicine now for delusional people dont you?.u need some.......

  • let me put it this way, Sheila E, is a master at rock drumming, r&b, hip hop, jazz she can play timba, songo, bata, plena, bomba, other afro-cuban and afro-rican rhythms, afro-brazilian, congolese, and a buttload of other drumming from around the world with perfect ease. I think my delusions are set on some pretty firm ground:)

  • @whokeithmoon NOT YOU AGAIN, YOU NEED HEMEROID MEDICATION

  • Ringo was perfect for the beatles. They were about music not technique.

  • I have heard rumours through the years that many of Ringo's tracks were re-recorded by the band when he was out of the studio to avoid embarassing him. He had charisma, but has anyone ever seen him play any of the songs zeroleminski lists "live"?

  • Honestly, when you break it down, it's a bunch of very fast paradiddles and not that hard to play. She also has some effects on the toms and snare (triggers). She's very good, but not GREAT in the sense of a very skilled jazz drummer. Ringo is an organic, natural drummer, and for those who think he isn't good, no less than Chester Thompson, a true master of the intstrument, once told me that Ringo was "great."

  • Comment removed

  • She has some good latin jazz stuff on here with Tito Puente and her dad, Pete Escovedo. I don't know if she's good, great or what but I'd say she is better than Ringo... but I'm not Chester Thompson. I'm not being cheeky. I'm just saying, I could be wrong. Anyway, reportedly Tito Puente is her godfather. I don't know if he's indulging her by performing with her so often but it's a fun show. I think there's a link on the video list at right.

  • boto u ringo nu bolso....huehuehue

  • esta potente ese solo

    esta chido (Y)

  • zeroleminski.....are you serious ? Ringo is a below average drummer at best . He just happened to be a member of one the most famous groups in the world.....and that's it ! His drum skills are below par as is his vocal talent . He's just a name . Don't get me wrong...I really like Ringo Starr....but come on now !!

  • im serious, my friend. i think ringo is a great drummer, with a lot of feeling, creatity and ecletism. if you listen to the beatles songs, you'll see he is able to play in a lot of styles, with lots of time signatures and beautiful drawings. check out these beatles songs: rain, strawberry fields forever, a day in the life, tomorrow never knows, something, come together, ticket to ride... you will note how ringo makes those songs much better.

  • Sheila E is one awesome percussionist, I'll tell u that! Incidentally, I just saw Ringo Starr & his All-Starr Band up in Lemoore, CA, but Sheila E & Richard Marx weren't in the lineup. Ringo had the guy from Men at Work on.

  • wow she kicked ringos ass hahahahah

  • @greg29ny Being flashy does not make you a better drummer. Ringo was a master of subtlety. He drumming in songs like Hey Jude and A Day In The Life are subtle yet powerful. But Ringo could also be flashy when required. e.g. Rain, I Want You, She Said She Said, Tommorow Never Knows, Good Morning Good Morning, Something, etc.

  • Wow...I love that groove at 00.59!!

  • Sheila E and Cindy Blackman are awesome!

  • I love how she kicks in the massive double bass part at the end to completely confirm that she is the sh*T!!

I am a male drummer, of 14 years experience, wishing I could some day be as goos as her....

  • Excellent!!

  • Why the hell doesnt she play like this in the studio!?!?!?!

  • hello mr.religeon nice music

  • Kudos to Ringo, one of the world's most infamous 'drummers',and one of modern music's most recognizable characters, for intergrating a real drummer/percussionist into his ensemble. And the results speak for themselves. The beautiful Sheila Escovedo is inspiring as always.

  • The most talented woman prince worked with alongside wendy and lisa. Vanity and Appolonia were just eye candy.

  • putz! que mulher! nossa show!!!

  • baixou o exu truna trunca.. a muié toca pra caralho

a mina é nota 100000, não é a toa que o Prince paga o maior pau para ela

  • Yeah, and she was Prince's drummer for a while--she's awesome!

  • Sheila E shoulda been a boxer -- she could knock Leila Ali the f**k OUT!

  • I saw this show but in Palm Springs/Indio. SHe was great.

  • Man she just goes crazy 2 minutes in, wow. She definitely falls into the Drumming elite.

  • I'm impressed. She is great and not for just a woman. She can play better than all of you haters in here. She kinda has this Billy Cobham feel.

  • Sheila Escovedo is burning! She actually played on Billy Cobham's Magic album in 1977 together with her father Pete Escovedo (legendary percusionist from Santana fame).

  • That was SO GREAT! That is talent. I know, I play. Good for her.

  • Man the the last two comments what Idiots, check her right foot, that girl has got some wicked groove in her.

  • Man the the last two comments what Idiots, check her right foot, that girl has got some wicked groove in her.

  • Just awful...

  • u cant be serious...ringo was a great drummer..do u even play drums?!

  • I confess I do not play drums. I am a banjo playing farmer.

  • See above.

  • That's some wicked Drumming!

She's one me over, I'm going to search for more of her videos!

  • I gotta give credit when credit is due.... even when it is a woman.

There are very few women musicians whom I respect.

    Sheila E. on drums.

    Lita Ford on guitar.

Nancy and Ann Wilson of Heart.

The rest seem like bikini bunnies of the video age without any talent.

  • LOL...the Wilson's have always had professional back up.

  • and chaka khan,hehehehehe!!!!!

  • Damn! I didn't know Sheila E was like this! Where the fuck have I been?

  • Her father is a great latin drummer

  • i think it wud be better if u shoot beside her. . but it is cool . . fucking good . .

  • Go Sheila E. !!!! That woman is one serious drummer!! We love her! Awesome video clip! Thanks for posting it!

  • I saw this show on July 11, 2006...great show by all!

  • Ringo is a fantastic drummer. He isn't flashy, and doesn't do drum solos...he drums for the singer. But his drumming is every bit as important to the Beatles' sound as the other three.

Highly underrated....a lot of the reason too is his drumming was never pushed far in the mix until the later records. Hopefully one day the will remix the Beatles stuff and bring the bass and drums up in the mix.

  • Boy youve got that right and one of the few to say it. THAT Ringo IS underated and DOES drum for the singer. HOW TRUE, reminds me of Keith Moon , who drumed note for note Like Ringo did, cept the WHO was more hard rock, but same concept though for both drummers... Love em both!!!

  • wow. that was great.

  • sheila , i love you

    phil paris (ocarina)

  • Ringo was OK in his time bless him, but things move on. Nice vid and can always learn more for these. Thanks.

  • if travis barker was there then they would have 2 drummers better than her pon stage

  • lol, ringo is thinking "mmm how do u do that?"

  • First off, by calling someone dumb right off the bat is so childish...If you have ever seen Ringo drum, then you could make a proper decision...That's what's wonderful about these postings, everyone is allowed to express their opinion, even those who call others dumb...:::sigh:::

  • lol ringo was never a drum god. he's overrated like lars

  • ringo isn't overrated. ok he never did great drumsolos but he swings like a motherf*****!

  • Sheila is an excellent drummer, but she does not compare to Ringo...He is a Drum God

  • You're dumb. Ringo is not that talented behind a kit. He just happened to be around and in a band that dominated the world. Not to say that he's not a good guy, but I would have to say that Sheila E. is a more talented drummer.

  • Sorry, Ringo, but she's much better.

  • esa vieja es màs chingona que ringo... pa què mas que la verdad!!

  • Jeezusssss! What a woman!!!!!! NO one can beat that!!

  • falta k ringo solee

  • so, what waz.. where.. who am i..

  • "I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell"

  • Cool

  • man, what a woman, she is definitely unbeatable, she is just so amazing and blessed, not to mention good looking too

  • not too bad.............

  • That was incredible... I accidentally clapped out loud at the end when her drumsticks went flying...

  • ChronicBrat so did I!!!

  • Right On.

  • AWESOME!!!

    Goddess Anjanee :)

  • Yo? sis got mad chops and mean groove...and shes hot...Jeez wish my girlfriend played the drums

  • I wish it wasn't at such a crappy angle

  • oh get your balls outta your hand why would anyone diss that? shes fucken amazing this didnt show half of what shes capable of.. one if not the most amazing female drummers

  • She makes Ringo's solo in "The End" look like child's play. And she makes it LOOK easy!!

  • This is the most incredible awesome display of beauty, feminine strength & talent I've ever seen. I wish I wasn't married....I'd like to make a glamorous life with her!!! ( I wonder if she needs someone to tie her shoelaces? That would be an incredible honor!!)

  • LMAO! Well said?

  • WOMEN ARE USELESS FOR DRUMS

  • Sheila E. is one of the very small number of great women drummers.

  • god she's incredible...

  • ha i can see jojo mayer or dennis chambers showin up and whoppin her.

  • search Cindy Blackman she's awesome

  • wow fianlly a good chick drummer. i think thers only like 2 ohters

  • omg i was there on the 12th best night of my life!!

  • That looks like Johhny Winter in the background... Pity the video is shot from the back and there's a distortion of the sound throughought, though.

  • It is his brother Edgar Winter. (Frankenstein and Free Ride)

  • Yay I love Shelia E... go us girl drummers!

  • hi...this was Westbury Music Fair in Long Island.... It was in the round...... It was NOT in NYC at Radio City Music Fair......

  • Look to the side - Ringo's impressed! Do you have the part from Fabulous Life, where she breaks the sticks?

  • I only have part of that song but do not have that part! It was a great concert....

  • I found it *yay* - however I don't think this is NY cause wasn't she wearing all white in NY? Here she has camo capris... And also she threw sticks into the audience in Radio City... Anyway:
