I remember that match. He played brilliantly and virtually won it on his own. Alex was playing really well in the period 82-87 but not winning the tournaments. Maybe his technique left him or was it just down to concentration.

I was never able to understand how used to strike the ball with such supreme confidence and touch, considering his technique was so different from the normal way of playing!

The mind of a genius.

The ability to wipe the floor with any snooker player past or present.

Alex was always more interested in entertaining the crowd than the achieving century breaks of which he was more than capable.

His technique is awful by traditional standards but he's potting them! The crowd are loving it too.
