Florida Casino Denies Man 166 Million Jackpot!

They should check each slot at least once a month to see if they are all working properly and if it DOES malfunction they should still have to give the winner what it said because it's not the winners fault its the casino's fault. They can't go and give a grand party where they say that he has won and then tell him that he can't collect his winnings since there was a 'glitch' in their system. Its just total bull crap.

There must be a law: Anybody who opens a casino must put an amount of at least 50 million US-$ in case they have pay out a big win (in case of malfunction at US-$ 500.000). In this case I would say disown the casio bosses and hold them liable with their private money to pay at least the penalty of 500.000 bucks.

Further more i would question when the malfunction occurred. if there is a machine malfunction technicians must service or repair the machine before returning it to service. once the machine is serviced it is considered "CLEAN" and in good working order. example if 3 pulls later a person is a jackpot winner. the casino should not deny winnings because of a previous malfunction of that machine. if a casino denies winnings with out a technical explanation they are in the wrong

What dose the Machine or casino define a malfunction as. there must be a technical explanation. all machines are checked by technicians in acorrdance to the state gaming commission. for example the nevada gaming commission (GC) defines a malfunction as but not limited to improper tampering, coin jams, empty hoppers, switch failures, computer chip failure, and bumping. the GC sees to it that gaming is fair. a casino can not deny you a payout just to say its a malfunction i would dispute

Firstly, it's not the casino's fault, it's the machine's programmers. It is very clearly stated on every machine that if it malfunctions they do not have to pay out. And 166 million would needlessly send them bankrupt, so they are completely within their legal rights. However, to not pay the guy anything is pretty harsh. I think they should have given him at least $10k.

i have been on a machine where it has malfunctioned. It said I won the jackpot of $5,000 but than it reset. They checked the machine and said they saw the win but if it reset it was a malfunction. They pulled the voids all pays and plays .. I said OK, so if ALL plays leading up to that malfunction are NOW void. You need to get crackin on refunding ALL the money from ALL the players who played this machine leading up to the malfunction. After about 4 hours, they paid me the $5k.
