I don't ignore this movie completely but I certainly ignore her. She IS NOT Psylocke no matter what the credits say. Exact same situation with "Emma Frost" in Wolverine. Neither are the true characters. I hope soon Psylocke gets her dues on the big screen in a major role and hopefully we don't get stuck with this bull for Psylocke on the big screen forever.

Betsy got that tattoo after drinking the liquid from the Crimson Dawn dimension, not from Kwannon. The liquid gave her the ability to teleport through shadows and that red tattoo.
Kwannon wasn't a psychic. She originally had low-level empathic power. She received her psychic abilities from Betsy, when their minds were switched.
She's British originally but she got into an Asian body later (I don't remember why), it's complicated. So if you wanted Psylocke in a movie, the actress would have to be asian with a british accent or if she could pull off that accent.
You don't know that David Hasselhoff did a made for TV feature called "Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD." Marvle wanted to seperate themselves from that terrible idea. Although Kurt Russel could have done a good Nick Fury.
Also, in real life you can be a British person of Asian descent. Asian people immigrate to the UK, just like they immigrate to several other parts of the world.
There is many evidence that may state that this is not Psylocke such as her ability of appearing through the shadows which Psylocke gained from the Crimson Dawn which scared her a red tatoo on her eye. But in the movie she lacks the red tatoo. We must also remeber that the x-movies reflect on Earth 10005 and not Earth 616, so there is a possibility that this is Psylocke but not the Psylocke of 616.

Both Emma Frost and Silverfox were in the X-men Origins movie. Emma Frost has the ability to turn into a diamond. Silverfox had the healing factor in the comics where as, in the movie, she had the ability to control the minds of everyone she touches (with the exception of Wolverine and Sabertooth). Silver Fox played the role of Wolverine's girlfriend in Origins (if that helps further) and (For some reason) Silver Fox and Emma Frost were sisters in the Origins movie.
X-Men 3 sucked....The story line was dumb, the characters were cheesy..it was no where near as good as the 1st 2 but you can see there was different director the 3rd time. 3rd movie really disappointed me and other x-men buffs.

All I said is that in the original form of X3, the character wasn't supposed to be Psylocke. They didn't know which character to choose and picked Psylocke (Meiling) for the part. All I was saying in the basics is that Psylocke's powers in the moive don't fullfill that in the comics, thus it isn't Psylocke (a theory).
Psylocke can transfer her mind to another body at death and so is unlikely to be dead as it appeared in the movie. Movaaay is quite clever as many of the mutants that were killed/cured can come back eg Professor, magneto, mystique and jean grey. Even cyclops could be brought back with some twisting of the story.

In it's originality, it was not supposed to be Psylocke. It was supposed to be some other character but because they didn't know who to choose or whom to fill in the part, they just threw in her name. Her powers aren't even correct. On the DVD Commentary of the film it was stated by Brett Ratner that the character played by Meiling Melançon is Psylocke. So what were you saying? Mei even in said in all her X-Men interviews that she was playing Psylocke. So her power may have been changed a little, but what haven't they changed in the X-Men films??

I know, it was disappointing that so many characters, besides Psylocke, were wasted in this movie. It said Jubilee was in the script, but I never saw her anywhere in the movie. Spike was also in the movie, but he was portrayed as being a Brotherhood member and was killed by Wolverine. Cyclops was killed right off the bat toward the beginning of the movie. I never saw Gambit anywhere in any of the 3 movies, even though he will be in the new "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" movie. Such a waste. : \
Her short screen time is one of the top reasons why I hated this movie. Psylocke deserves a MUCH bigger role and a hell of alot more screen time. However, I was pretty happy with Mei Melancon portraying Psylocke. She just needed a British accent.
Speaking of Phoenix, Psylocke gained the Phoenix's telekinetic powers after her resurrection. Psylocke also grows immune to any sort of psionic abilities, such as mind control, mind reading, mental attacks, etc. She's able to teleport and become invisible. She also has precognition (uncontrollable), and of course she's able to manifest her psiblades into physical form. Not to mention, she's a Master Martial Artist. Jean may be an Omega-level mutant, but don't underestimate Psylocke.
stronger? nahhh they both have same gifts but each is in different forms. both have telepathy and telekenisis but heir mutant gene is expressed in various way. jeans is a better telepathy than telekensis . and psylocke ability is unique cause she combines them both into physical damaging weapons. jean grey was strong only cause of the phoenix force, once it left her, she now a 3 level telepath. psylocke is a 4 1/2 level.both good and same but implement their skill differently.
What? Jean Grey is an Omega level telepath and has been referred to time and time again as "second only to Xavier". Beast once said she'd be a 12 on the Richter scale WITHOUT the Phoenix Force.

Partcof this is not true. Jean grey always had the potential to be incredibly strong. Professor X blocked away her power in her mind , limiting her power, because it was too much for her to control. That's why she appears weak. The Phoenix force chose Jean grey as a host because it sensed she had unlimited power. If she was weak it would not have taken her as its host. The Phoenix Force released Jean's blocked power and increased it to an even greater level.

I think the character is a little too complex to be reduced to a cheap cameo. I would've rather she not even be in the movie if this is how it was going to be. I've been a huge x-men fan for about 20 yrs now, and I had no idea that was her in the movie until I read her interview in Wizard. Whether she lived or died in X-Men 3 is of no importance. That movie left such a bad taste in my mouth that I honestly hope another one will never be made.
The camera shift is too suspicious, because if she did die, the camera would show all three of them. It seems as though it is irrelevant to whether she died or not.
If you also look closely at the last second, Arclight and the other mutant are about to be disintegrated, and you don't see anything on Psylocke.
I love Psylocke and I think Mei Melancon is a great actress, perfect for the part, I just wish she had a bigger role, it would have been great to see her psychic katanna or her psy-blasts on screen.

There is many evidence that may state that this is not Psylocke such as her ability of appearing through the shadows which Psylocke gained from the Crimson Dawn which scared her a red tatoo on her eye. But in the movie she lacks the red tatoo. We must also remeber that the x-movies reflect on Earth 10005 and not Earth 616, so there is a possibility that this is Psylocke but not the Psylocke of 616.

it is her but people are confused that its probably someone else because of the powers she used differ from the psylocke we all know. I am just stating that this takes place in Earth 10005 and not the Mainstream Marvel Universe Earth 616. So it is Psylocke but not the Psylocke we all know.

Both Emma Frost and Silverfox were in the X-men Origins movie. Emma Frost has the ability to turn into a diamond. Silverfox had the healing factor in the comics where as, in the movie, she had the ability to control the minds of everyone she touches (with the exception of Wolverine and Sabertooth). Silver Fox played the role of Wolverine's girlfriend in Origins (if that helps further) and (For some reason) Silver Fox and Emma Frost were sisters in the Origins movie.

X-Men 3 sucked....The story line was dumb, the characters were cheesy..it was no where near as good as the 1st 2 but you can see there was different director the 3rd time. 3rd movie really disappointed me and other x-men buffs.

Emma Frost's powers include telepathy AND shifting into diamond form. In Origins, only her ability to shift into diamond form was revealed.
Husk's power wasn't even shown.

To: Xmenfan246- If you had actually read my comment correctly you would have understood it correctly. I didn't say that Meiling Melacan isn't Psylocke or that she denies it at all. All I said is that in the original form of X3, the character wasn't supposed to be Psylocke. They didn't know which character to choose and picked Psylocke (Meiling) for the part. All I was saying in the basics is that Psylocke's powers in the moive don't fullfill that in the comics, thus it isn't Psylocke (a theory).

Psylocke can transfer her mind to another body at death and so is unlikely to be dead as it appeared in the movie. Movaaay is quite clever as many of the mutants that were killed/cured can come back eg Professor, magneto, mystique and jean grey. Even cyclops could be brought back with some twisting of the story.

In it's originality, it was not supposed to be Psylocke. It was supposed to be some other character but because they didn't know who to choose or whom to fill in the part, they just threw in her name. Her powers aren't even correct. They could have at least done that right, plus she was never part of the Morlocks. You're right. It's not Psylocke and it never was.

I know, it was disappointing that so many characters, besides Psylocke, were wasted in this movie. It said Jubilee was in the script, but I never saw her anywhere in the movie. Spike was also in the movie, but he was portrayed as being a Brotherhood member and was killed by Wolverine. Cyclops was killed right off the bat toward the beginning of the movie. I never saw Gambit anywhere in any of the 3 movies, even though he will be in the new "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" movie. Such a waste. : \

Her short screen time is one of the top reasons why I hated this movie. Psylocke deserves a MUCH bigger role and a hell of alot more screen time. However, I was pretty happy with Mei Melancon portraying Psylocke. She just needed a British accent.

Speaking of Phoenix, Psylocke gained the Phoenix's telekinetic powers after her resurrection. Psylocke also grows immune to any sort of psionic abilities, such as mind control, mind reading, mental attacks, etc. She's able to teleport and become invisible. She also has precognition (uncontrollable), and of course she's able to manifest her psiblades into physical form. Not to mention, she's a Master Martial Artist. Jean may be an Omega-level mutant, but don't underestimate Psylocke.

stronger? nahhh they both have same gifts but each is in different forms. both have telepathy and telekenisis but heir mutant gene is expressed in various way. jeans is a better telepathy than telekensis . and psylocke ability is unique cause she combines them both into physical damaging weapons. jean grey was strong only cause of the phoenix force, once it left her, she now a 3 level telepath. psylocke is a 4 1/2 level.both good and same but implement their skill differently.

Partcof this is not true. Jean grey always had the potential to be incredibly strong. Professor X blocked away her power in her mind , limiting her power, because it was too much for her to control. That's why she appears weak. The Phoenix force chose Jean grey as a host because it sensed she had unlimited power. If she was weak it would not have taken her as its host. The Phoenix Force released Jean's blocked power and increased it to an even greater level.

Evidence that Psylocke survived:
*A scream is heard in the hallway "after" the disintegration wave hit.
*In the X3 novel (I believe), Psylocke survives by teleporting out just in time.
*The camera shifts to the side before she "dies"... did she really die?

I think the character is a little too complex to be reduced to a cheap cameo. I would've rather she not even be in the movie if this is how it was going to be. I've been a huge x-men fan for about 20 yrs now, and I had no idea that was her in the movie until I read her interview in Wizard. Whether she lived or died in X-Men 3 is of no importance. That movie left such a bad taste in my mouth that I honestly hope another one will never be made.

The camera shift is too suspicious, because if she did die, the camera would show all three of them. It seems as though it is irrelevant to whether she died or not.
If you also look closely at the last second, Arclight and the other mutant are about to be disintegrated, and you don't see anything on Psylocke.
