  • Three people have heard it all before and can't hear it anymore.

  • haha how much does Hooky want to kill Bernard here?

  • Stephen Morris was a demon on the drums. The verses are sung in Sumner's lower range, an almost conversational series of notes and inflections. But the chorus! It's in his higher range and sounds like a cry out of the depths of despair.

The bleakness of the world is still evident in the lyrics, but the pulse beat and danceability of the tune demand that you live and move. New Order: You can't hang yourself when you're dancing.

  • @lithead you could have just said what a cracking song

  • @jamesjnr67 But then *you* couldn't have said it.

  • Band of my life too........

Brill early 80's gigs did it for me. Love 'em.

  • The imperfections of the individuals makes for group perfection.

Love 'em group of my life too, cost me a f fortune.

  • I love the live version of this song, it has all the energy they were searching for for the album version, but couldn't find.

  • Have to say I love New Order but this is one of the VERY few songs of theirs I'm not keen on- the intro is great but the rest of the song is a bit cheesy and sounds a bit dated. But they wrote so many absolutely amazing songs who am I to criticise them?

  • @gmtx12 This is one of my absolute favorite songs, and the intro is probably my least favorite part.

  • this song makes me cry cause it's sooo good.

  • one of my fav New Order songs ever from Low Life.. One of the best indie bands at that time.

  • The human drum machine and bass love making player.....with Barneys lyrics.......Oh how i cannot bare the thought of you....perfect........havent we all felt that way after a break up. Your hair was long your eyes was blue!!!!

  • Peter Hook plays the bass like no one else

  • This is an underrated song, an album track but easily tops the "hot new single" by any number of today's New Order imitators.

  • Good performance! One of my favs from them. Barney changed the lyrics in this one but I know he does that in live performances.

  • One of my favorite New Order tunes.

  • I prefer fur hats to hairy twats, but your hairy twat is like a fur hat

  • i love watching them. they always look so into it.

  • In context, New Order were and always will be the standard to to play and intraplay a sound of substance.

  • i picked up this video for about 20p in a charity shop a few yrs ago! a good find i think for a massive new order fan like me!!!!

  • probably my favorite new order song.

  • 6 stars for this one.

  • Stephen Morris is a hell of a drummer... nice to watch!

  • @Patrick1963 He's absolutely stunning, in no other band is the drummer so integral

  • Englands Best!! export New order

  • Потрясающая энергетика...

  • So many great lines in this song, my favorite NO song of them all.

  • Most underrated of their songs. Brilliant.

  • A favorite version of a favorite song. Thank you kindly for the upload.

  • beautiful

  • Excellent performance, Barnie Boo was really giving it some to the Japs.

  • That bass is awesome!

  • Low Life is such a f*cking good albo.

  • Bernard, Hooky, Stephen, and Gillian cannot ever dissapoint. Coolest as cool can be defined.

  • @loachomattic Yes. Against the odds, all four sweat Cool out of their pores.

  • great great great

  • Thank you adz for this gem.

  • I love it.I will die listening to them..band of my life..

  • @iaralillylynosjohn me too.. NEw Order and DM for me..

  • @iaralillylynosjohn

What a lovely way to express this !

We may share the same experience !

  • @iaralillylynosjohn I couldn't agree more,i just love this track,first time i saw New Order was in Dublin Jan'86, love the band,Cult band here tho,sometimes in life we tak a tumble.....Fact 420

  • very sad..

  • Doing it for the money.

  • I like when Steve Morris plays drums, instead another artifact.

  • This is my favourite New Order song ever.

  • There's something i've been trying to figure out:

There's a sequence played at the back. but still Stephen morris keeps the drum bass right on path. this may seem very easy but try and to this while there's 3 other instruments playing. My drummer can' do it. is he just listening very closely?

  • he's just frikkin awesome... maybe your drummer sux

  • I wish Pumped Full of Drugs would be released on DVD i played the hell out of my VHS tape.

  • Classic New order wonderfull

  • "Your hair was long, your eyes was blue" - at 4.00 the whole band crahes in and takes it to another level, fuckin awesome!!

  • Love this song.

  • And how i wish Peter Hook would take his head out of his ass and get together with Sumner and Morris and make more great music.

  • They had a good run. Not like The Smiths...

  • they had a great run..i agree..their music still on and on in places like brazil..chile argentina..the teens in south america love the,,this is the band where they were young and will always be..

  • sooooo much better than the smiths

  • @DankeRainer Of course.

  • @DankeRainer

I always thought that The Smiths suck.

  • Stephen Morris can play the hell out of those drums.

  • That is one of their most exciting songs to hear live. What energy it's got! I've seen them lots and they always just play the 'hits' now which is great, obvioulsy, but it would be nice to hear some of the more obscure stuff like this.

  • I like the fact that after a while, they had started to do both of the "Turns" live -- "Turn" and "Turn My Way," but they didn't do either of them at the one concert I was at, unfortunately. Saw 'em at Primaverasound in Barcelona in 2005. Glad I got to see them live before they "broke up." Who knows when they'll get back together...

  • "pumapele a dit : frottage un pottage"

Je ne suis pas sûr d'avoir compris mais je salue l'effort en français... et puis c'est poétique et bien dans l'esprit de la musique de N-o.

  • They oughtta release this whole concert on DVD! One of their best!

  • is it not on dvd? i bought the vid back in the eighties!! its got a wierd name though...not just "pfd"...some japanese word.

lost the box though so couldnt tell ya lol...sorry

  • I have this whole gig on DVD, but I had to order it from Japan.

  • my favorite new order song - i never get sick of it

  • yeah it reminds me of my wife lolol ;-)

  • Que se passe-t-il avec l'ampli ou la batterie ? A un moment on dirait que Sumner a du mal avec... Superbe chanson une fois de plus... Merci pour ces vidéos ! Et vive New Order !

  • frottage un pottage

  • Live in NYC, this would of been the gig of any lifetime. If you can't dig New Order you can't dig nothing. So fuck off if you find any other music of interest. Love, Ian Curtis.

  • oh fuck you pumapele i'll kill u ASS and blast new order while i'm killing you

  • Remember seeeing them do this at the Hacienda at this time( my first ever gig).

    Fuckin Amazing.

  • Oh how I love this song.

Thanks so much for posting it.

    I love New Order!

  • Lightning of this gig is really appealing, like it a lot specially Barney's close ups.

  • sorry all for the argument i didn't start it nor do i want to continue it

  • puff

  • A great relatively unheard song at least by the mainstream American audience, this song brings the apathetic close to God, the dead alive, and the lonely comfortable. I believe this was the end of their prime, In terms of album covers (low-life) and music.

  • The 'end of their prime'? Possibly! Technique is excellent though but it's well worth debating. A band that have had so many comebacks with varying degrees of success is worthy of a 'when did they lose it' argument. Personally I thought the 'Crystal/Get Ready' was a triumphant return to the good old days! Overall, easily one the most consistently good British artists ever!

  • Lowlife is their masterpiece. no question

  • love the bass sequencer

  • I think Brotherhood was an underrated album---

  • I agree, but Face Up is the last track off Low-Life. Which is also underrated.

  • For sure.

Than again their entire 'oeuvre" is so gooood! Genius!

  • I fucking love this song, makes me feel that I´m not alone!

  • It's a good song, but it has always hit a little too close to home for me!

  • I've always loved this song. Anyone else think this, Temptation and Age of Consent are their three greatest tunes?

  • i agree man, and i am also a sucker for ceremony, no songs crafted like this by any group,NEW ORDER rule

  • oh how i cannot bear the thought of you, Rikrobbo 1985

good times since then , looking forward to seeing u soon.

  • The only other new order songs that can stand with this in terms of sheer emotional involvement are 'sunrise' and 'temptation'. At any rate this is one of their very best songs, and like 'temptation' it demonstrates that ecstatic coincidence of joy and hesitancy that is unique to new order.

  • Nothing beats New Order Low Life and Technique, that and Happy Mondays Bummed. Such a fantastic era of music. RIP Tony Wilson.

  • RIP Tony Wilson.

  • As each paper, american idol winner sets us further and further down into the cesspool each year...at least we have sumner and new order to go back to....and hopefully remind us that i believe music was once about writing ur own stuff and actually having confidence in ur material, not pretending you do so Simon Cowell can bang u and get u that figure deal

  • Agreed....I'l esctatic I found all these videos from new Order...reliving my eighties days with one of my favorite bands...Hooky's bass is just mesmerizing...

  • Nice Face Up here. My favorite is still the 84 Roskilde Festival outing.

  • Is the 84 Roskilde Festival version available anywhere?

  • Yeah I'd like to see other live versions of this

  • I love this song.

    baby!! it's sooo good.

And I usually dislike writing comments on these fuckin' videos and stating opinions and junk, buuuuuuuut whuuuuh evuh Stephen Morris is F.U.C.K.I.N Amazing.

  • If you can't fade this song, then you have no taste in music!

  • ?? you are an idiot.

  • Cannot fade this song and quality. NO baby RIP: Ian Curtis

  • tight!

  • wow...starting at like 4:00 in, Barney actually plays the guitar and sings AT THE SAME TIME!! never thought i would see the day!

  • He ripped off the technique of not playing and singing simultaneously from Caesar in the Wake {btw, check out their CD Harmony, if you like this).

  • great vid & song, gud upload ;) added to fav

  • what gig this bit is taken from?

  • Shinjuku Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo, 02 May 1985.

FACT 177 - PFD (Pumped Full of Drugs).

  • Thanks for the information: strange is that I have this video and I didn't remember...yeah, drugs you know!

  • Fucking amazing!!!

  • such a good cheer up song. even though the lyrics arent really all that cheery

  • just amazing.
