I remember watching the GWF on ESPN after escaping from high school back in the day. Always fun. Favorites included Taylor (who wasn't on nearly enough), Cactus Jack (who cracked my friends & I up when he K-O'ed himself with a steal chair) and Maniac Mike Davis (Moon-rock! Been there!). Those were the days!
Yeah dude, I was in JHS during those years. ESPN also used to show renegades of wrestling back in the day (USWA). Man the 1990's had really good indie wrestling.
@supershqipa you are so right. I'd rush home to catch stuff like this on tv. At the early part of the 2000s the Metro channel would re-air some of the USWA stuff on saturdays. I'd like to see a channel bring that old stuff back(maybe espn classic)
Dude I know. I dont even bother watching wrestling anymore. Its just baaaaad
All these new guys taking up after there father is nepotism at its worst. Just because their pops wrestled doesent make them good wrestlers and the roids dont help either.
Like Shawn Michaels, future WCW, WWF and TNA announcer Scott Hudson lost his Texas accent over the years. This is where Hudson got his start and as you can hear, he spoke with a broad Texas accent that disappeared in later years.
Yeah, I agree with the Erik Watts comment. If you can't throw a drop kick, don't bother.
disappointed that after dominating the match and just manhandling Gaylord - Tug looses at the end - I love TUG - great big powerhouse of a wrestler and impressive for his size
Yeah Tugboat Taylor is alive and well in Houston, has his own promotion and wrestling school. I don't think he's the same Tugboat who was in the WWF though.
Tugboat from WWF is still alive and living in Florida I think. google "Fred Ottman", wikipedia has some info on him. Lol also look up "the shockmaster" on youtube that stuff was funny!
Jeff Gaylord recently completed a prison sentence for robbing a back in Colorado. Check out U.S. v. Gaylord, 2003. It has all the details of the case.
Anyone know where the Tugboat Taylor vs Sting match went??? I can't find it anywhere

Yeah Tugboat Taylor is alive and well in Houston, has his own promotion and wrestling school. I don't think he's the same Tugboat who was in the WWF though.

Tug Taylor wrestled even in mexican AAA jobbing his "Cyclops" mask to Tinieblas jr.
A black mask with a red eye in the middle, practically a paper mask without value for Tinieblas jr.
NickPatrick2 3 years ago
There is a "Cyclope Jr" that sometimes wrestles in Tugboat Taylor's World of Wrestling Indy promotion. He burns people with firebangs lol.
