Somebody farting in church has to be the ultimate. I mean...how do you not sit there next to one of your buddies feeling the laughter welling up inside you, trying to stifle it, while your friend is shaking with laughter himself. The whole thing becomes contagious. Suddenly somebody else is laughing and squeezes one out, and the whole room is about to fall out of their seats. By now the choir is smiling and trying to keep from cracking up. God must have a sense of humor. He gave us farts.

not military, but i did Marching band in high school.

my teacher was stricked as hell, before games and practice it was ok to smile a lil.

After games, he would do an after game pep talk. At this time your tired, hot sweaty, and just wanna go home. Last thing you want is for someone to fire one off and you bust out laughing.

I can only imagine what you went through. Most of the time the comment from the priest or minister that follows only makes it worse. If the minister said "may the lord watch over you", or "peace be with you", I'd be finished. Imagine if you're a muslim and your kneeling and bowing to Allah and the guy in front of you cuts the cheese. That's enough to make you consider changing religions.

I think my story can top it all. Back in my High School days, a buddy next to me had one slip out during the moment of silence at our rememberance day assembly. I was part of our church mission trip from NY to Kentucky about 20 years ago. Our pastor, who was about 70 at the time, joined us because he would be retiring soon. We were sitting in a circle one night around midnight having devotionals and the minister was leading in prayer. It was silent, somber...then the minister gave a little "toot."
