Most of those statues are made from a volcanic rock which is similar looking but much softer to work with and most are modern day replicas or interpretations. If her statutes are really pre-Columbian they are very valuable indeed but probably illegal to own and should be surrendered to the National Museum, INAH.

hey my mom bought some statues she lives in costa rica there made out of the same rock but there like large stone statues that weigh like 100 pounds.. i was wondering what you think they would be worth

It amazes me that is what the idians used to do for entertainment.

Today we have YouTube...so these are relics worth preserving as todays generation would not move their arses to do something like that.

There are ancient spheres found everywhere, i think the type of rock they are carved out of has something to do with it. Granite has radioactive properties, perhaps they were used like crystals for channeling energy.

I wish the establishment would tell the truth about these speres. These balls symbolise Divinity and were given to us on earth , like the pyramids and large square stones... - by who, who knows? The spere is also a symbol of Time, the pyramid a symbol of the Self and squares are a symbol of Space. Together they represent - Iam Here Now. The truth is always much more interesting than any official story.

CR. has a long standing literacy & documentation.

The Spanish did not bring women to CR for 150 years, so all Costa Ricans have some native peoples in them.

The natives died from smallpox. There were 7 tribes: 3 peaceable & 4 waring among each other inclusive of cannibalism. Cannibals have weaker immune systems -- the smallpox was #'s deadly. Crop failures added to mix.

No jade (serpentine) mines in CR.

@tobsk28 I affirm that there are many curious anomalies out there that do not fit the current paradigm. ie naturalistic philosophy. We are not and have not evolved in the sense of traditional evolution story. Humans have always been human, we have always been self-aware and always been capable of scientific endeavor. What is unique about the modern period of history is technical advancement based on widespread education, industrialization and standardized assembly line part production.
