  • How would you go about making a witch's hat but having the end turned down to look a bit slouchy?

  • okay I could kiss you right now!

  • Horribly cheesy, yet hilarious begining. Love ya threadbanger.

  • OMG. It's so cool. I wanna make the hat now...

  • i want to make a hat now!

  • i think i would like the dress if it were shorter, i think. not whore-short but around the knee area... and then get some bright (black, lacy, hole-ly) stockings with some rad boots or blocky heels. and go for a little more lotia look..... that would be an idea at least.

but its cool it goes to a more wicked kind-of look. ^_^

  • the 6 who don't like this is video are insane!!

  • Forget that, It would be easier for me just to buy it.

  • I miss you guys, its not the same anymore

  • I really wanna make that skirt this year, but I really can't sew [I've never don it before but..] Is it verry hard to learn?

And will there come again halloween costumes for this year? ;D

  • THANK YOU! I've been searching for a great Witch Hat tutorial, this is perfect! Now, between this and your Fairy Wings video I'll be the perfect evil Witch Fairy for halloween! THANK YOU!!!!

  • I really would like to do something like this, but sadly I don't have a sewing machine :(. I'm poor. I do everything by hand.

  • I'm not sure about anywhere else, but I know CVS has some really cheap sewing machines. I got one for about $20, from there. It worked fine, but was not the best.

  • You could do the ruffles by hand. That's what I'm doing. I'm also making the skirt knee length so I wont be needing as many ruffles.

  • oh my goodness, the skirt is so long to make! lmao my back and shoulders hurt from sowing and cutting the strips and i'm still not done! lolz

  • I really wish that I knew how to sew. I really would like to make a witch hat like Elphaba's. But, the sewing machine that was given to me, broke. I'm not sure what to do.

  • 6:22 what is fanash? panash? i don't even know how to spell it... anyone here kindly explain, pls don't be mean to the ignorant me.

  • Panache- a grand or flamboyant manner; verve; style; flair

Often said pan-ASH, rather than pa-NOSH, as they said here.

  • You're amazing !! you did such a beautiful dress ! I was also interested by your 'pirate' costume, so, thanks ! ^^

  • UR AMAZING!

  • aweesome corrine!!

  • plz zoom out more!...also do you guys post pics of the creations you make?...so that there is more time to study the project

  • Love the costume, but I have one question. I noticed the skirt ruching varies in depth/width. Do you have any tips for the skirt to flare out with a general 'A' or mermaid shape rather than a honeycomb? Also, do you have any preferences as for the type of scrap fabric used?

  • wow i didnt know about this it is very interesting you see this is one of the reasons why i like you tube its such a great learning tool.

  • I can use the hat in a Black Mage costume so this vid is acceptable, but I am really tired of the lack of content for male viewers. In the Steampunk vid you did projects for both, where's Rob's half of his one?

Great job, I hope you guys make a few guy costume videos as well!

  • Don't worry, there are plenty of costume tutorials for guys to come.

  • any ideas on how to make a top hat?

  • Sure, Make the hat as above but use a fabric that is matte and instead of making a cone make a straight tube. you would also make the rim a bit smaller.

when you cover the top part use a disk to make it nice and flat (may need some interfacing)

Glue a ribbon around the middle of the hat to make it more up market or don't for a chique look.

be sure to use reference photos for height & rim with (or don't if you want more originality)

    good luck, Hope I helped

  • thanks i'll give it a try

  • NICE VID!

  • :O i wish i knew how to sew T_T

  • You can sew! It just takes some practice.

  • It's true, I found it daunting at first but then I tried it and was surprised how easy it was. It takes practice to get very good but it's easy and fun to get started.

If you are hand stitching though you will need patience. See if you can get a lend of a sewing machine for a week and buy some cheap cotton (or mod some t-shirts!)

It is well worth the effort!
