I'm a Pens fan obviously and I will say that Spezza did his best to stop Crosby here but lets be honest people....If you were to compare their speeds, their acceleration, their stamina and so forth, Crosby has it better than Spezza! And thats why Spezza had nooo chance at all here. Sid brings a whole new level of hockey to the ice and he's always 10 steps ahead of everybody...not literally but I'm pretty sure you guys know what I mean...Sid brings a show when he plays hockey!

The only reason I don't like him is how the league protects him so much. Most players don't get the refs to fight a fair bit (not all) of their battles.

He let him have possession for a good bit, then walk it out to the circle. However, he is a forward, so I wouldn't really want that matchup as a coach. Of course Crosby couldn't get into the slot. Billy Guerin and Andy Sutton were standing in the crease the whole time and there were other Senators standing a few feet in front of the net on both sides, there was no room for Crosby to skate in front whether Spezza was there or not.

Anybody remember when Spezza was still a prospect playing in the OHL? At that time he was hyped up almost as much as Crosby was before entering the league. Some people even called him "Spetzky" because they thought he would become the next Wayne Gretzky. While Spezza hasn't been a huge bust like Alexander Daigle, he hasn't really lived up to pre-draft expectations. He needs to step up his game and play more like he did against Buffalo in the 2007 conference finals.

there is no one in NHL HISTORY WITH AS GOOD PUCK PROTECTION THEN CROSBY OR THE ABILITY TO SPLIT THE DEFENSE. Gretzky and lemieux accomplished more on better teams in a shitty era, but Crosby is the most talented player ever easily.

Of course Crosby couldn't get into the slot. Billy Guerin and Andy Sutton were standing in the crease the whole time and there were other Senators standing a few feet in front of the net on both sides, there was no room for Crosby to skate in front whether Spezza was there or not.

Well, I have not lived in Ottawa for years and actually live in PA. I CRIED when he scored that goal in the Olympics. I do believe he is arrogant, but if you look at the rest of my post, I agree that Spazz, lol, was OWNED and that it was sheer hockey beauty the way Crosby persisted on that play.
Maybe he has grown up since the early days. But many, many people DO believe that Pittsburgh has an "entitled" feeling int the dressing room.

Anybody remember when Spezza was still a prospect playing in the OHL? At that time he was hyped up almost as much as Crosby was before entering the league. Some people even called him "Spetzky" because they thought he would become the next Wayne Gretzky. While Spezza hasn't been a huge bust like Alexander Daigle, he hasn't really lived up to pre-draft expectations. He needs to step up his game and play more like he did against Buffalo in the 2007 conference finals.
