But even if they passed him up in that year, surely one year later he should have won the Nobel Peace Prize for this speech and the signing of the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Thus, kennedy fired his directors-changed toward a more peaceful policy and planned to withdrawl from vietnam. All these reason were part of why he was shot.
The same did not happen with the missile crisis. Going toe to toe with the USSR was not peaceful but the right thing to do. This speech was after the missile crisis. And it was not why he was assissinated.
