Which side would I choose? I would probably play devil's advocate and try to conquer the Federation. On another note: They should make a movie about the Dominion War. I'm sure there are battles or perspectives in that war (from ALL sides) which could be made into an awesome movie.

@cromwell300: Because that's not really what Star Trek is about. Roddenberry had Star Trek tackling philosophical issues, with battles just being a supplement. The Star Trek Trilogy of II, III, and IV is a good example: "They say the Earth was created in 6 days. Well watch out! Here comes Genesis. We'll do it for you in 6 minutes!" Trek didn't really become battle-centric until Roddenberry died, and that's also when it went downhill.

this is why i hated the 24th century of trek. The ships don't use shields or the shields are pathetically weak. One phaser hit and shields are down by like 15% or a torpedo hit drains the shields down to like 50%. I mean in the TOS saga of trek the ships had powerful shields taking on battle groups.

@MrHoppers002 making scifi battles is expensive, so they made multiship battles that end quickly. and the weapons in TNG are really powerful too. the enterprise phaser is like a tactical nuke, and the photon torpedo is even stronger, and the klingon disruptor is supposed to be the strongest of the 3 empire weapons.

i thought federation pulse phasers were the most powerful? If you watched TOS vs. TNG TOS displayed some pretty powerful moments for the enterprise.
