do not buy this model after a couple of yrs the screen will be dead it wil turn off when the battery is full power it`s fucking crap maybe it`s good at the beggining but not after it`s like ur borrowing the laptop for a yr
i dont know bout the t thing but i have the dv9000 that has a blu ray player.... doesnt play the discs on quickplay. the touch button for volume and media control make the screen freeze, caps lock light doesnt even come on, and it gets hot sooo friggin fast. its a great computer to use but man is it tedious at times.
A decent laptop. I have an Dv9000, got it back in 2008. Still kicking, but ready to replace this thing. Many HP and Compaq notebooks have flaws. Mine just didn't boot up one day, but hp was helpful and fixed free of charge even with an expired warranty.
I have a HP Pavilion dv9380ea. A friend gave it to me becuse the graphics card broke down, 5 weeks after the insurens ran out. So i did a "reflow" on the GPU and it worked. well two weeks later the display hinge broke, going to fix that soon. But what i am geting at, is that hp seams to be focusing on more of the design of the product, then the actual function of it. if you have a dv9/dv6 seris buy a good notebook cooler. But if you're planning on buying one look perhaps on the sony vaio series.
Just get online and check out the forums, this machine heat ups and fries the graphics card. Or go to your local repair shop and see how many HP dv 9000 series they they have in line to be repaired. It's time for a class action suit as HP will sand bag you for making good on this wide spread problem.
. I can't believe the audacity of HP to keep fooling people as it does. I brought my HP dv6000 laptop 2 years back and about few months ago, the wirless card, the internal CMOS battery and the laptop battery all went dead. I tried to contact HP but it was a stone wall. I gave up. Over heating is another problem.
So guys, trust me and those who really have such a nice feedback to give on HP,,,,,, save your money. NEVER BUY HP PRODUCTS...
i just bought one of these and it works AMAZING i bought it used off a friend and it runs brand new. only problem is overheating. Is there anyway i can upgrade the cooling fan or something? PLEASE RESPOND respectively
Also, at one time I was positivily convinced I needed a new battery, and my wife did something(Took battery out and pushed some buttons) and the battery is still good today.
I've never had another laptop so I don't know if its really bad or good. I do not have the"t". The only problem I have now after 2 years is a random , loud resinating fan. Mine has a HDMI output, but when I hooked it up to my flatscreen I got no sound. I think I have to re-configure it. (Sticking to my dvd player)
im on this computer right now bro and i've had it since may 2008. no problems. only complaint is that if yo cover the fan it overheats making it impossible so use on a bed. other than that. it's great. idk what you're talking about.
I still have this laptop and like I said, I have 2 dead USB ports, a broken mic, over heating problems and the Wi-fi is so unstable and slow it's useless.
Ive only my Hp laptops have problems like this. I also have an old alienware from 2002 and it works perfectly.
If HP would have been upfront and sent me information about this issue so that I would have had a choice to have it fixed for free, since they used sub-standard parts, I wouldn't be so mad. Oh that's right. I was supposed to call HP every day for three years and ask "hey, is there a problem yet?" just to make sure I'm safe. They don't want to lose money, even if the problem is their fault. Greedy bitches.
Another paid salesman, selling another HP piece of shit. Mind you he isn't telling you about the wonderful video failure with this laptop that has effected thousands of pas customers. Mine failed, I researched and found out about the problem 3 years later. Do you think HP will fix my laptop due to their KNOWN issue? Nope, because I'm out of warranty. Do car manufactures not fix recalls for free anytime? Yes they do. HP you suck and I'll never buy your laptop computers again. Greedy bastards.
.....and then the motherboard will go out because of the onboard nvidia video card and then HP will offer to fix it for $350 but won't admit that it's a piece of crap--and if your left hinge doesn't break because of the design flaw then you might be able to use the laptop for 1 year or so.....
I have this laptop and unfortunately, the LCD went out. Called HP as there was a recall on the LCD hinge and when they got it, they said it was the motherboard that was the issue and not covered. Sent it to Geek Squad, they tell me it IS the LCD screen! WTF?! So, whom do I believe....? Guess I'll have to replace the LCD screen myself as GS wants $935.00 to fix it. No thanks.
Intel T9600 @ 2.8ghz...overclockable to 4ghz, and most important...ATI 4870 X2....yes, finally comes in a laptop. 6gb of DDR2 ram, 320gb 7200rpm HD. 18.4in 1080p screen. All for $2200 from newegg. This to me is the ultimate laptop for really good price.
the ATI 4780 x2 is right on par with GTX 295 desktop GPU. I heard rumors that Asus will soon release W90 will sport a intel QX9300 overclockable to 4ghz, 3Dmark06=21k

Mine literally just broke yesterday after 1 year and a half.
DONT BUY THIS! The motherboard breaks in about a year. Tons of people post the same problems online with this model.
I tried to have it fixed but cost $400 and people stated that new motherboards eventually also break.
