Why is the glider moving backwards half the time ?

Well that is a clever trick we do by plumbing the air speed indicator up the opposite way around alowing us to fly backwards without stalling.

Nah Thats not true it only happens when your turning right and anyway the guy in the back would need to face the other way so he could where he was going ( like Tony Hancock in the film). Maybe if it was filmed in the Southern hemisphere it would only happen when you turned left. Great movie all the same.

Brings back many good memories - Dave Wood, Ex DCFI at The Wrekin and ex CFI at Two River Germany. Now I am living in Crete looking at fantastic lenticulars for several months every winter but hardly a single field fit for landing on the whole island!
