First of all I was being dramatic to make a point you fool. I know women are not classified as tenors. My point was that Whitney's voice is very deep now down there with the tenors. Although Whitney was a soprano for a number of years, at some point in the 90s she became a mezzo. In this recording, she was obviously one. This clip was not her prime! Her voice was in obvious decline. And if you listen to the recent recordings of Whitney on youtube, you will find she is an alto.

Yes. I have heard her latest recordings and the latest one we've received was recorded in 2007. Early in her vocal recovery. Whitney's, highest note, live, is funnily enough, F#6. And to be in fact a coloratura Soprano is someone who can sing notes in the low Alto range up to the Soprano range. Opera singers are just labeled Soprano. Not coloratura Soprano.

C6 can come out of Whitney's voice quite easily. Never done it so often. But that doesn't actually matter. She's done it effortlessly.

I don't understand why people are always trying to inflate Whitney's talent. Her gift is gone, it's time to accept that.

A gift like Whitney's isn't able to go away. Whitney is the best singer to have ever touched earth's earth. No one can deny that. She may never sing like she did in 1992, but that was apparent in the late 90's. She can sing songs from the MLIYL album perfect today, in the same key. So saying her gift is gone is very harsh.

During Brunei 1996 she hit a whistle note which I heard was F#6. Around that note anyway.

I don't think there is a best because too many divas are masters of their game...Aretha, Whitney, Mariah, Gladys, Celine, each one is beyond awesome and to me they are all equals.
