  • 5 people slipped when clicking "like."

  • this guy has a second brain in his left foot..

  • My fever can't stop!!! It needs even more cowbell!!!

  • Pearl のカウベルのとこに載ってた人や

  • cara toca horrores

  • It's already hard enough for my girlfriend to understand a 4/4 drumsolo, I will be single because of this. Totally worth it.

  • enjoy the music and stop trying to count it. Effin nerds

  • real good music when u cant stop smiling while playing!

  • Horacio... Weckl... and Chambers.... the most technical... the most feel. Amazing players.

  • The beginning reminds me of the Black Page pt.1

  • if you can't hear the 6/4 listen to the main rhythm, it's easy (e. g. 3:30), then it should be obvious. Otherwise... check your ears!

  • Definitely hear it in 6/4. But they really butcher it! :-)

  • To help hearing the 6/4, take his two hi-tom beats (beginning 1:55) as the 1st two 16th notes of the 6/4 pattern

  • From what I hear, if you count his clave as 4/4 (for the sake of reference) then you have a 6/4 polymeter over it (+ some polyrhythms they do) from 1:55 to 3:40... 2 cents.

  • everybody! i give you Steve-O on timbalies!

  • Man this guy is just outstanding... Doesn't even seem to make an actual effort! Well... U can send this vid to the X Files dudes : we found a 4 guy with 4 brains looking like a human being!

  • ığğğğğğğğğğ

  • The cuban version of Chuck Norris

  • Ok, I give up.....was anyone able to get a time signature out of that?

  • @akendrum Not sure but it Sounds like its in 4... I just keep my ear on the 2-3 clave in his left foot. But the timing is challenging I agree.

  • @akendrum I think it's a 6/8 signature but not quite sure..

  • got to see him play in jersey with dave valentine - he did a classical piece, mozart, along with a chamber orchestra that was mind boggling - this guy is really on another level musically - saw him at the blue note from about 5 feet away with Camilo and I was slack jawed - an incredible musician...

  • octopus my ass, octopi have only 8 limbs

  • I got to spend a whole night sitting next this guy as he played a benefit at my brother's hair salon in Pa. What a nice guy.

  • 0:45 Even Chuck Norris loves Hernandes (on the right)

  • This guy is my inspiration, he actually studied drumming with my drum teacher :D

  • This does not appear in the DVD of Saturday, why cut it?

  • anyone else like the yellow pants?

  • This guy is unbelievable...

    Never seen anyone like him

  • This is like a Bozzio/Wackerman/Tito Puente habanero hot sauce duet.

  • Rhytmically by far... oustanding...just incredible!. Both of them are up there, playing with an amazing sense of time and comtemporary drumming...I'm inspired ...going to practice right now..love you Negro and Mark.

"Music is not a competition, but an inspiration" -aa.

  • what the... wonderful how he keeps timing with his left foot, and it's a complex rhythm what he plays considering what his other limbs are doing :-D

  • haha you gotta be good if chuck norris is applauding you 0:42

  • @TheNuncFluens fucking hilarious

  • @TheNuncFluens Man... hilarious comment... hahaha....

  • The only problem with Horacio is, that he makes every other drummer look like a beginner.

  • lleva el ritmo por dentro

  • I got sucked into the vortex of awesomeness and forgot to attempt to figure out the time sig changes...anyone with me?

  • if hes not on cocaine then who is......

  • everything he does is so seemless. he's literally put his life and soul into mastering his instrument. such an admirable dedication.

  • tocan feo

  • No - pinches - mames. <3

  • Horacio Is a Tremendous Talent and Wonderful Human Being. In a Class All By Himself !!

    Jimmy Lento-President

    Lento Percussion

  • humanly imposible . keeping the left foot clave steady , accenting with kick drum , beats and fills with hands , absolute perfection of coordination

  • Weckl is a superior player.

  • @Easleytee I love Weckl's playing too but on what grounds do you judge him superior, after all music is not a sport

  • If you all think practice will get you that sort of coordination. You are wrong. It is the yellow pants. Get some.

  • skip to 1:00 where the music starts

  • Marc looks like Steve-O

  • que monotono... (dafnis prieto)

  • oh my God

  • Whats happening on his left leg? Does this guy has another brain? Incredible!!!!

  • What happened to his left leg! Does this guy has another brain? Incredible!!!!

  • thats the mexican power!!!

  • @Paukister I think he's Cuban.

  • @Paukister you mean Cuban power

  • Amazing!!! it must be grate, there's Chuck Norris on the audience ;) on 0:42

  • I don't think there are words in the English language to describe this.

  • my God..the independence he has..

  • yess jaja those two think that they can doit better!!! lol

  • stunning....when i saw him live,, a few months ago, i think i cried...

  • @Metallica4Ever93 faster than jordison: george kollias, romain goulon, mike mangini, tim yeung,

jordison is good but we are talking about horacio herndez my friend (= very different styles but i think you will love this clave, cascara, groovy stuff as much as i do if you get into it

  • @Metallica4Ever93 hahahahahaahahahahhahaahahaha

  • ENJOY! :D 100 Most Skilled Drummer (Live Videos) - /watch?v=9aiY9lrIklM

  • Would be cool to see him jam with the Allman Brothers Band!

  • its a cowbell not a clave

  • @Volcanistry They are not talking about the actual instruments. He is playing a clave on the cowbell with his left foot.

  • is that marc quinones from the allman brothers?

  • im working on the 2/3 clave on the left foot its mad....i got down the songo beat with it but i still cant play it independently!!!!!

  • ALGUIEN me puede DECIR COMO SE LLAMA EL TEMA DE COMIENZO DEL VIDIO? ?? ??? ??????????

  • RIP Michael Brecker

  • @MrFootball102 even the greatest drummers aren't perfect 100 % you have to remember exactly what to do and you also improvise and sometimes if you start with the wrong hand or too soon or late you mess up the song and humans are not machines so we make mistakes but like you just saw - the pro's know how to handle it so mistakes often create new things and not ruin what that was built..

  • El Negro is da baddest, but can he predict the World Cup?

  • 03:54 that's SABOR!!!!!! uhhhhh!

  • it's sure he has another brain in his left foot U_U

  • Unbelievable.

  • Fantastic hair lol.

  • he's a ventiloquist at drums!!!

  • Wow! Fantastic latin drums and percussion. This is really groovey and funky.

  • wow, that's a whole lot of sychronization.

  • I swear I saw Howard Jones of kse in the crowd, showing his support! : /

  • hes so happy when he plays

  • @Spleenfome yeah, because he knows he's our god.

  • This guy makes me wanna break my sticks in half and throw them away, cuz I'll never be that good. How depressing! AAAAARGH!

  • im presionante!

  • Well... I'm confused.

    Great work Hernandez! As always!

  • Sicker than sick

  • JUBILATOIRE !!! Horacio génial, et le joueur de "timbalés" n'a rien à lui envier !

  • in those days horacio was endorsed by LP, anybody knows what is the cowbell model that he used on the left foot ?????????????????

  • Horacio:simplemente el más grande

  • only six limbs playing anyway

  • I like how he is so happy when playing! asi deberian ser todos los musicos!

  • ofcourse its an octopu syou idiot its two drummers! eight limbs!

  • uahuahuah and Patitucci embarassed in the middle XD fantastic

  • thats pretty much the bassline i'd play to this tune :S

  • this is in 4/4 but is VERY abstract... like the black page by frank zappa

  • Bulge in left ankle indicates remote brain... explains a lot.

  • gotta love the face, makes the video for me

  • This is not only complete independence, but total interdependence and interaction of hand/feet muscle groups and joints; to smoothly, accurately and with great timing and precision execute this complicated Latin groove. I am an educated drummer and have been playing for 40 years and I am still impressed with this performance!

  • i love his face through the piece... he's loving every minute of it.. so natural

  • that left foot clave is as natural and normal for him as left foot quarter notes are for the rest of us

  • @sweetfly66 True, but 2 people think they can do better

  • yeah this guys bad ass....great independence.

  • on top of all that, he makes it look most easy.. he shows no signs on his face that he is concentrating at all... truly facinating player

  • the octupus my ass. octopi only have 8 limbs.

  • @samm1809 it would be more gramaticly correct to say octopuses

  • @heartline12 it would be more socially correct to ignore it and not be such a smartass.

  • @samm1809 :D

  • @heartline12 You're an idiot wrapped in a moron.

  • @gabe956 :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D kinda sounds sexy o.O

  • @samm1809 hahahaha too true

  • @samm1809 its actually octipedes because its greek not latin

  • @Gretschdrummer11 huh. well they don't seem to notice, so shhh! ;)

  • @samm1809 A talented squid

  • ahhh the clave... my brain would explode

  • Damn no matter wat he's doin around the kit that left foot is just pounding that same constant sound. Gotta learn how to do that. That whole performance was great

  • @superkadeemx Try Maria Martinez's book 'Afro-Cuban coordination for drum set'. Chapter 3 is on the left foot Clave. It is an excellent introduction.

  • @wilmount hey thx dude imma check that out asap.

  • I SUCK

  • master of all poly-rhythms

  • @upbeatmantis86 zakir hussain? mike mangini? marco minnemann? steve smith? etc etc etc

  • @erikimba no doubt they are all good.. but my opinion is that latin polyrhythm is by far the hardest to master. & this guy is pretty much the latin drum king. Have u seen him played live.? Went to his clinic in KL, it was jaw dropping from d beginning right till d end. His polyrhthms entertained us for more than 2 hours without any tracks. D drummers u've mentioned.. i understand their drumming, and i might/cant do it.. but this GUY.. i dont & couldnt understand at all, what else playing it!! =D

  • @upbeatmantis86 ok ok lol. yes i´ve been fortunate to see hear talk shake hands with most of them and others including horacio, also another 3 masters on latin are antonio sanchez, robby ameen and dafnis prieto, btw i´d like to know prieto is the only one missing, i totally agree latin is by far the hardest on coordination interdependence, if you are into polyrhythms let me tell you, you are in the RIGHT WAY, humblly i would like to share my knowledge on the topic if you want...

  • Who's that other guy? He's got a nice groove too.

  • fantastic

  • Very nice!

  • El Negro toca muito.

  • please dont bash me for this guys..

as much as i fully apreciate the sheer talent and technicality displayed here, i just find this kind of music really difficult to feel. Like, its not something that makes me wanna nod my head or anything, and for me thats a big thing when playing music.

does anyone else feel the same ?

  • @StickyyWinklee that's because drumming isn't ONLY about making beats, beyond just music it's a fun instrument to play and an incredibly challenging instrument on top of that. Not all drummers should always just make music, that's boring if it's all you do. It is fun to challenge yourself as well as watch a musician that can do what El Negro can do. I do think making a beat is an essential part of drumming but I can't say that is what really attracts me to it. It's just a fun challenge.

  • @StickyyWinklee I know exactly what you mean...you have to appreciate and respect their unbelievable talent though

  • @StickyyWinklee probably, you are more fond of emotional aspect of music, and you're not that much intersted in adding element of "solving" music in your reception as (for example) me. But, actually, I might sometimes feel similar, in a way. I find this kind of music really difficult to count. I can't cope it...

So I share the impression of music not fitting my top preferences, and appreciate talent of artists as well ;)

  • @StickyyWinklee its really your bringing up of music. i love this stuff, i can feel the groove. but sometimes it doesnt have to be thump thump bash bash, if u know what i mean

  • @StickyyWinklee Feel ya, bro, but this is ridiculous. I think this is more freak show entertainment stuff. Take care, man.

  • When I watch this, I wonder how many brains he has.

  • dammit, the clave on that foot cowbell is right on point. That sickening how easy he makes that look.

  • i seen Horacio play at the Cape Breton drum festival a few years back and he was amazing

  • DUDE! On the bass drum head, there's an Estonian flag, and what makes it awesome is that i'm form Estonia!

  • Comment removed

  • @6Hendrik Man that's just Shure & Evans stickers.

  • increible...

  • First one to comment!!!!!

He's a God, a monster, he's the best drummer in the whole f**** world, my idol!!!
