Minnesota High School hockey tournament needs to be televised. This last years tournament was awesome! Sold out every game. The gophers don't even do that. Lol. State of Hockey baby! Much respect to our Canadian neighbors for giving us some really fun and competitive tournaments!
If Michigan did this where the high school season is separate from the AAA season it would be unreal. There is a ton of talent in MI, but a lot just play AAA

I actually have a couple friends from Sweden who played Minnesota hockey on foreign exchange and now play juniors in Sweden. They said Minnesota was the best time of their lives so far ;)

@beaverdammer Canada has great hockey, but they don't have the atmosphere of the state tournament in Minnesota. It is totally unique and stands above every other hockey event in the world. I've been to the NCAA Frozen Four, and multiple NHL playoff games, and none of them compare to the Tourney.

The only reason players like Crosby and Toews go play in the states is because they get paid, under the table that is, to go play there. U.S programs simply cannot match the developmental level of that of Canadian prgrams, that's why players like Crosby go play a year or 2 in Shattuck then come back to their native land. I must say that I´m really impressed of Minnesota hockey, I like what I see. I think it´s cool that you have hockey in school. Too bad they don´t have it here in Sweden. =(

Audiences are not quiet you just can't hear it with the music lol. They can get pretty creative. Every school has their chants. I actually have a couple friends from Sweden who played Minnesota hockey on foreign exchange and now play juniors in Sweden. They said Minnesota was the best time of their lives so far ;)

@beaverdammer Canada has great hockey, but they don't have the atmosphere of the state tournament in Minnesota. It is totally unique and stands above every other hockey event in the world. I've been to the NCAA Frozen Four, and multiple NHL playoff games, and none of them compare to the Tourney.

wow fuckin' dirty. i played hs hockey in michigan, in all four years of playing, the level of intensity was never at this, not even close and our team was ranked among the top ten in the state. i've also followed hs hockey in mn and its amazing to see the talent mn puts out consistently each year. my hats off to you guys, you guys do great things with the game

The only reason players like Crosby and Toews go play in the states is because they get paid, under the table that is, to go play there. Everyone in Canada who has a legitimate chance at making it to the "show" plays either Junior A or QMJHL, OHL and WHL. has anyone ever noticed how the only good Canadian player to come from a U.S program lately has been Toews? U.S programs simply cannot match the developmental level of that of Canadian prgrams, that's why players like Crosby go play a year or 2 in Shattuck then come back to their native land. Toews is one of the only players to graduate in the U.S and still be a force in the NHL.. All in all, the only reason Toews is so good, is because he is Canadian

Kyle Turris, Riley Nash, Brendan Smith, Joe Colborne, Daultan Leveille, Louis Leblanc, Dylan Olsen, Andrew Cogliano....
Those are all canadian players drafted in the 1st round of the nhl draft in the last few years. All of them came to the US and played college hockey instead of playing in the CHL.
