AWWW She was so precious, But she really was terrified, she said this in a book I finished reading. She was almost crying she said, they would call her Screaming Mimi off camera. She said she was fine at rehersal but when it came time to film she was petrified.

@squeers63 Yes, I know I would. I believe she was four there. She came on there from time to time with her sisters, and got over her nervousness. I saw an old episode at Christmas from 1964, she was really happy and smiling on it, I saw another one on here, she was singing Little Drummer Boy with her brothers and sisters. Her little brother Kip was so happy too in the video.
Some years ago, Mimi replaced Peggy who had opted to retire. Dianne has also retired now, but Kathy & Janet (& Mimi?) might still perform in Branson(?). Their brothers sing lots of songs from the 30s/40s, but I cannot recall seeing/hearing any of the other younger sisters singing. I always love to see the special reunion shows on PBS, and old Welk repeats. Totally talented family!! LG(1946)

In 1953, they had another sister Mary, who was tragically hit and killed by a speeding car at the age of nineteen months. She was honored by DeeDee when she named her eldest daughter Mary, plus Mimi was named Miram a Hebrew form of Mary. She was called Mimi.

Wow, that means that Mimi is just a few months older than me. This show aired 2 days after my 4th birthday. Mimi looks very much like Peggy these days. And little Mimi may have only been 4-1/2 but she hit all the notes!

Ever since I was a kid I have always thought Janet (first left here) bore a little more than a passing family resemblance to John Lennon, which back then convinced be that John was probably distantly related to the Lennon Sisters. What do you think?
That poor little girl...she was like, "um, can I please leave...I don't really want to do this......why are we still singing...I REALLY don't want to be here." lol. Still a great performance though.
Thanks for poasting this one, as it's just too cute! Mimi obviously got over her stagefright, as I know she's been performing regularly with her sisters for years.
Watching this though, I can't help feeling for "little" Mimi. She looks as though she would rather be ANYWHERE but on that stage, despite her big sisters' comforting hands around her.
