I am becoming of the opinion that mainland Europe is more cultured and civilised than Britain. I can't help but think that the fountain in the middle of the crowd would either have been trashed with all sorts of rubbish like beer cans or would have people rolling about dancing in it

Now that is how to work a crowd. They have 30-40 songs that rock a crowd but always play too many slow songs. This is the same crowd who look bored at other songs. Watch the reaction to this stunning song.

@dascotton I'm with ya! I love watching the crowd shots - and MS - during this performance. The crowd seems to get the song completely, arrives prepared, and makes a huge contribution with its participation. They contemplate during the comtemplative parts of the song, but they're right there with MS the whole time so that when he turns up the intensity, they come in right on the beat and equally intense! Great Clappers! Did you see the same thing with non-German or non-European crowds?

one of the reasons I cannot get enough of REM is the lyrics combined with that unique voice. ...."climb a tree and dump a load on your head', bergamot and vetiver" "I believe in time as an abstract'..... if michael isn't in the song writers hall of fame maybe fans can start a campaign.

U2 has fallen out of favor with me because that passion is gone. "sexy boots'" come on. ha. this is the longest I have written anything on- line. ever.
